Personality V: I will save everything

Chapter 642: In the hospital.

"So, you managed to get yourself into the hospital by relying on your so-called 'own strength'?" Andrew looked at Holmes lying on the hospital bed with an expression of disbelief on his face.

You know, those leaves were given to Holmes by Andrew on purpose. Although the reason why Holmes was eventually sent to the hospital was his own suicidal behavior, Andrew still felt that it was his responsibility to come and visit him.

However, when Andrew heard Holmes's reasons for going to the hospital, he was speechless.

"Come on, the smoke was so thick, didn't you know to run away? You stayed there stupidly, watching the leaves' reaction!" Andrew couldn't help but scold Holmes, "Aren't you asking for trouble?"

To be honest, Andrew really had no sympathy for Holmes when he was scolded by his brother.

After all, if it was Karl who did such a stupid thing, Andrew was sure that he would definitely not hesitate to beat Karl up severely.

However, our Sherlock Holmes seemed to be completely unaffected and still looked heartless. Perhaps it was because he had been severely reprimanded by his elder brother five minutes ago, so even if Andrew came to blame him again, he didn't care at all, and even chose to empty his mind, as if he didn't hear anything.

However, Andrew would not let him off so easily. Andrew asked curiously, "But I am really curious, Holmes, what did you drip on the leaves I gave you to make such a big smoke?"

Holmes deadpanned, "Nitric acid."

Hearing this answer, Andrew's face instantly became extremely ugly, as if someone had stepped on him hard. He widened his eyes and looked at Holmes in disbelief, his mouth wide open, but he couldn't say a word.

Standing in the corridor at the door of the ward, as if time had stopped, Mycroft quietly waited for Andrew and Holmes to finish their conversation. Finally, he saw Andrew walk out of the ward with a blank expression and heavy steps.

Mycroft's heart tightened, and a bad premonition came to his mind. He hurried over to ask about the situation, but before he could open his mouth, Andrew suddenly stopped and shouted in the corridor without any warning:

"Someone come over and check Sherlock Holmes again! I couldn't help punching him!"

The shout exploded like thunder in the silent corridor, startling everyone around.

Mycroft stared at Andrew with wide eyes, looking at him in astonishment, totally unable to believe what he heard.

Andrew's strength is not that of an ordinary person. If he punched Sherlock on the head, would Mycroft doubt that his brother would still be alive? !

.................................................. ........................

Fortunately, despite the rage burning in Andrew's heart, he still managed to control his strength. So when his fist landed on Holmes' head, although it caused some damage, it did not cause too serious consequences.

In addition to the previous wounds, Holmes had another obvious large bump on his head. However, this was just a minor flesh wound, and a simple disinfection should be enough to heal him - of course, provided that Holmes was willing to cooperate with the treatment.

Looking at the new wound on his brother's head, Mycroft not only had no sympathy, but also sneered: "Sherlock, seriously, you really deserve it."

Obviously, Mycroft felt that Holmes had brought new injuries upon himself and that he deserved no sympathy at all.

Of course, Holmes realized that what he had done was a bit too much. Apart from anything else, his behavior did indeed cause concern to the neighbors around him. After all, they almost thought that his house was on fire.

.................................................. ........................

"You know what? Holmes, I suddenly feel that you can actually have a good communication with Lucino." Andrew said thoughtfully as he sat in a chair beside the bed.

After he punched Holmes, his anger gradually subsided, but he did not leave the ward immediately. Instead, he stayed and observed Holmes quietly.

In this moment of silence, a thought suddenly flashed through Andrew's mind-Lucchino. He thought of the man who was also passionate about research and had similar qualities to Holmes.

"You two are both research geeks, so you'll probably have a lot of common topics." Andrew continued, as if talking to himself, "Besides, Luchino is better than you in one respect: he won't cause trouble for others."

Andrew thought that it might be a good idea to ask Luchino to help look after Holmes. This way, Holmes would have someone to keep him company and avoid him getting into more trouble.

Thinking of this, Andrew's mouth corners slightly raised, revealing a smile. He felt that his idea was quite good, and he even couldn't wait to put it into practice.

Speaking of Luchino, a figure immediately emerged in Holmes' mind.

He was very impressed with this man because Luchino was the only one of all the non-humans whose non-human form Holmes did not know what it looked like.

"You mean..." Holmes was about to ask when suddenly there was a knock on the door of the ward. The sudden knock interrupted his words and made him frown.

Mycroft thought it was another visitor, so he opened the door. However, when he saw who was standing outside the door, he was stunned. A man in a doctor's uniform stumbled into the room, as if he had lost his balance.

If this man was a doctor on ward rounds, it would be very strange for him to stumble like that.

Normally, a doctor should be steady and professional. However, Mycroft did not kick the man out immediately. Instead, he decided to keep him and locked the door.

.................................................. ........................

As expected, the other party came to see Sherlock Holmes.

As for why he knew Sherlock Holmes was in this ward, is there any need to explain?

He is a doctor in this hospital and he should know the truth by just checking the medical records. Plus, Andrew yelled so loudly in the corridor just now that anyone who was not deaf should have heard it.

Of course, the point is not these, the point is the case he talked about————

The doctor who broke in was named Percy Trevelyan, a doctor and one of the founders of the hospital.

Three years ago, he was unable to open his hospital due to lack of money, and the mysterious rich man Blessington suddenly offered to provide funding.

The agreement stipulated that Blessington would provide the entire mansion at 403 Brook Street as a clinic and bear all expenses, while Trevelyan would hand over three quarters of the income and keep only one quarter for himself.

In exchange, Blessington was admitted to the hospital for a long period of time on the grounds of "weak heart" and occupied the two most spacious rooms on the second floor.

Even more bizarre were Blessington’s conditions for moving in: “He insisted on occupying the two south-facing bedrooms on the second floor, and that the rooms must have safes with combination locks installed.”

Trevelyan recalled the first time he entered Blessington's ward. In the dim light blocked by heavy curtains, the oil painting of "The Daughter of Herodias" hanging on the head of the bed and the Masonic triangle mark on the safe formed an unsettling echo.

The turning point of the story began with two anonymous letters.

The first letter invited Trevelyan to treat catalepsy for a Russian nobleman. On the evening of the next day, a pair of visitors who claimed to be Prince Kurakin and his son arrived as expected.

The old man was slight and reserved in his manner, while the young son had the physique of Hercules and a fierce countenance.

During the diagnosis and treatment, the old man suddenly became stiff all over and his pupils rolled up. When Trevelyan went downstairs to get the medicine, the two men had disappeared, leaving only fresh mud footprints on the carpet of the clinic.

What's even more bizarre is that the father and son appeared again the next night, claiming that the old man had mistakenly walked into the street after falling ill.

Trevelyan noticed that the inside of the young man's copper cigarette case was engraved with Masonic symbols, which were exactly the same as the markings on the Blessington safe.

When he informed Blessington of this, the latter suddenly began to inspect the room in a hysterical state, claiming in a trembling voice that "someone has touched my papers," although no property was missing.

From that day on, fear spread like ripples in Blessington.

He began installing iron bolts on doors and windows, stopped his daily walks, and even knocked on the table with a silver paperweight late at night, leaving 17 scratches of varying depths.

And all of this started with the arrival of a father and son.

Dr. Percy Trevelyan hoped that Mr. Holmes could help him solve the mystery of the father and son.

.................................................. ........................

Andrew, who had been listening for a long time, finally grasped the key point from this long and complicated conversation.

"Sir, you have the same name as someone I know," Andrew suddenly interrupted.

His voice was not loud, but it pierced the air like a sharp sword, making the originally dull atmosphere suddenly tense.

Dr. Percy Trevelyan turned his head sharply and stared at Andrew, as if trying to see through his eyes into his heart.

"Oh? Really?" The doctor's tone was a little stiff, and he was obviously dissatisfied with Andrew's interruption.

Andrew didn't care about the doctor's reaction. He continued to speak: "Your hospital is not conducting any human experiments, right? After all, I heard that many of your patients are mentally ill."

This sentence was like a bomb, causing an uproar in the room.

Dr. Percy Trevelyan's face turned pale in an instant. He widened his eyes and looked at Andrew in disbelief, as if he had heard the most ridiculous thing in the world.

"No way!!!" The doctor's voice trembled with anger. "I'm a doctor. My duty is to cure illnesses and save lives. How could I possibly conduct experiments on a living person?!"

His emotions were so intense that the whole room could feel his anger and grievance.

But unfortunately, no one cared about his feelings. Holmes asked Andrew curiously,

"Andrew, the man named Percy you mentioned didn't really conduct experiments on living people, did he?"

After all, people don't come up with ideas out of thin air. Such ideas must come from something around them that can serve as a reference.

So Holmes seriously suspected that the man named Percy mentioned by Andrew had really conducted some human experiments on living people.

"That's not the case," Andrew explained quickly, "He's not an ordinary person, he's a crazy scientist! He actually used dead people for experiments, trying to resurrect them!"

Andrew's voice trembled slightly, and he seemed to be very shocked and frightened by the scientist's behavior.

"But as for the conclusion..." He paused for a moment, as if thinking about how to describe this result. "Well, he can't be considered a complete failure. After all, he still resurrected the dead man. It's just that this resurrected man is a little strange. He turned into a living dead and strangled the scientist's neck!"

Andrew just blurted out his thoughts, and suddenly realized that he seemed to have let something slip. He secretly groaned in his heart. Fortunately, he reacted quickly and made up an identity for Percy temporarily, otherwise he really didn't know how to make up this lie.

"By the way, the scientist died in the end," Andrew added quickly, "but by sheer coincidence, he fell on the experimental table he used to revive the dead. I don't know how it happened, but the experimental table suddenly started up, and then he became the only successful experimental subject!"
