Personality V: I will save everything

Chapter 612 You deserve it.

Holmes never expected that Miss Jenny would take the initiative to knock on the door of Baker Street. This surprised him greatly, after all, he had never thought that Miss Jenny would do such a thing before.

When Holmes opened the door, he saw Miss Jenny standing at the door, with a trace of anxiety and uneasiness on her face. Miss Jenny said apologetically, "I'm sorry, Mr. Holmes, I know this is very presumptuous, but due to some special reasons, I really have nowhere to go. Can I take shelter here for a while?"

Holmes was about to agree without hesitation, but at this moment he suddenly remembered the mess he had made on the second floor of Baker Street in order to test the nectar.

The second floor looked like it had been bombarded, with messy items and experimental equipment everywhere. If I invited this lady up there, it would probably leave a bad impression on her, and might even make her uncomfortable.

However, when Holmes saw Miss Jenny's hesitation, his hesitation was instantly replaced by sympathy. Although the situation on the second floor was indeed not ideal, he really couldn't bear to refuse this lady in distress.

So, Holmes finally decided to let Miss Jenny in and said politely, "Please come in, Miss Jenny. I'm very sorry that the second floor is a bit messy."

.................................................. ........................

The room was filled with the smell of smoke that had not yet completely dissipated, and the plants on the windowsill were drooping and clinging to the edges of their pots.

The wooden floor was worn to a warm patina, and near the end of the bed there was a coffee stain shaped like a crooked maple leaf.

The closet door was half open, revealing half of a faded striped shirt, the hem of which was hanging on the closet door.

There were three or four dinner plates piled up at the corner of the desk. The sauce on the top one had seeped out, leaving a dark brown mark on the wood-grain tabletop.

My goodness! The room was in such a state of ruin that to say it had been bombarded was an understatement.

"I am very sorry," said Holmes apologetically, and he carefully lifted his foot and made a way for Miss Jenny to the sofa among the pile of debris.

After walking a few steps with great difficulty, Holmes gentlemanly extended his hand, wanting to help Miss Jenny cross those obstacles. After all, Miss Jenny was wearing a long dress today, and it was indeed a little inconvenient for her to move.

However, unexpectedly, Miss Jenny extended her hand without hesitation and directly rejected Holmes' kindness.

Then, in front of Holmes, she quickly and skillfully unbuttoned the hidden buttons on her skirt. In the blink of an eye, the long skirt turned into a pair of loose trousers like magic.

"Wow! This is a very practical design!" Holmes couldn't help but exclaimed, obviously admiring this ingenious design.

"Thank you. If Violetta heard you say that, she would be very happy. She is the best fashion designer we have and the reason why I came to you for refuge." Miss Jenny said with a smile, her tone revealing her high praise and gratitude for Violetta.

Holmes had not paid much attention to the mysterious Violetta, but Miss Jenny's words successfully aroused his interest. He couldn't help but ask curiously: "What's wrong? Is the lady named Violetta very bad-tempered?"

Miss Jenny quickly waved her hands and explained, "That's not the case. On the contrary, Valletta is very gentle...Oh, thank you." As she spoke, she looked at the sofa hesitantly, as if she wanted to sit down, but was a little concerned about the obvious stains on the sofa.

Holmes noticed Miss Jenny's actions and immediately understood her worries. So he quickly spread his worn-out coat on the sofa and said to Miss Jenny with a smile, "Please sit down so that your clothes won't get dirty."

Miss Jenny looked at Holmes gratefully, then carefully sat on the sofa covered with a coat. After she sat down, she continued, "Valletta is really gentle and kind, and she especially likes children. When Stellan and Inara were not yet born, she had already made a lot of cute baby clothes for them."

However, just when we thought Miss Jenny would continue her story, she suddenly changed the subject, like a gust of wind suddenly changing direction.

"But," her tone became a little heavy, "when she is cruel, she can be very cruel, and that kind of cruelty makes people shudder. Moreover, sometimes her behavior is really confusing, and I don't know how to get along with her........." Miss Jenny paused, as if thinking about how to express her thoughts.

"Well," she finally sighed, "maybe it would be more appropriate to describe her as 'crazy'." The word came out of her mouth with a feeling of helplessness and despair.

"But Mr. Holmes, I hope you don't think he is a bad man because of this. In fact, if you know her past, you will pity her like us."

.................................................. ........................

So, how will our Sherlock Holmes react to all this?

When he heard these words, he had already packed half of his clothes.

It was obvious that the news aroused his great interest.

Come on, another non-human being he had never heard of appeared! This was simply an irresistible temptation for him.

As a detective, he is always full of curiosity about unknown things, not to mention that this non-human may have some connection with the incident?

Of course, Holmes did not completely believe what Miss Jenny said.

After all, as an experienced detective, he knew the importance of seeing is believing. So, no matter what, he had to go and see it in person to determine whether this non-human really existed and its relationship with the case.

At this moment, Holmes was standing in front of the mirror, carefully choosing a tie. His movements were elegant and calm, as if this was not an urgent action, but a carefully prepared performance. However, how could Miss Jenny not understand him? She saw through Holmes's mind at a glance.

"I'd better go back with you," said Miss Jenny, "and I think it would be unfair to Violetta to leave the Golden Rose Theater just because of this."

.................................................. ........................

Before arriving at the Golden Rose Theatre, Holmes had already gained some insight into Miss Violetta's power.

Because usually I have some non-humans playing on the street next to the Golden Rose Theater, but now there is none. I guess it’s all because of the incident with Miss Valletta, and none of them came out.

Not only that, due to the special circumstances of the Golden Rose Theatre, carriages did not dare to drive directly there, which forced Holmes and Miss Jenny to get off the carriage some distance away from the theater and then walk there.

Along the way, Miss Jenny seemed to have difficulty talking about Miss Valletta. She was always hesitant to speak, which made people wonder what kind of person Miss Valletta was.

However, although Miss Jenny seemed to be quite afraid of Miss Violetta's affairs, she finally plucked up the courage to say to Holmes just before she pushed open the door of the Golden Rose Theater:

"Mr. Holmes, I think it is necessary to tell you this. Violetta...has a 'pet'."

.................................................. ........................

As soon as Holmes stepped into the door of the Golden Rose Theatre, he felt that the world in front of him began to spin wildly, as if the entire space had lost its balance in an instant.

His body began to sway as well, and it felt like countless bees were buzzing in his head.

When he finally came to his senses from the dizziness, he found that he had been tightly entangled by something like spider silk and was being rapidly dragged toward the ceiling.

Holmes took a closer look and was surprised to find that it was no wonder that the streets were empty without a single non-human being, because at this moment they were all hanging from the ceiling!

Before Holmes could ask what was going on, suddenly, a shrill female voice came faintly from his ears like a ghost.

"Hello, sir," the voice said. "You must be Mr. Holmes, whom Jenny mentioned. My name is Violetta. I am grateful for your guidance."

Holmes struggled to twist his neck which was entangled in the spider silk and tried to turn his head to see who was speaking.

Finally, he saw a blonde beauty clinging lightly to the ceiling, as if she was the spider weaving a web.

In fact, there is no need to think that she looks like a spider, because she is a spider!

Six arms stretched out from her shoulder blades, like the long legs of a spider, firmly grasping the spider silk.

From every angle she looked like a spider.

At this moment, the other party gently moved the spider silk with one of her hands, and the spider silk seemed to be given life and tightened rapidly. The child named Stellan was easily pulled over by her like a captured prey.

However, surprisingly, even though he was tightly entangled by the spider silk, Stellan did not show too much fear or struggle. He just quietly stretched out his hands, as if he wanted Valletta to hold him.

And Valletta obediently stretched out an arm and gently embraced Stellan in her arms, gently ruffling his hair, as if soothing a frightened little animal.

"Oh, my lovely child," Violetta said softly, "when you grow up, you will become a stunning beauty."

"Let's not talk about that for now. Valletta, can you put us down first?"

At this moment, Norton, who had been hanging on the ceiling pretending to be dead, couldn't stand it anymore and asked Violetta to let them down.

When Holmes heard this, he expected at least one or two arguments, but he did not expect Violetta to be so obedient as to let them all down.

After his feet finally touched the ground, Holmes' body swayed slightly, as if he had not yet recovered from the thrilling experience.

He calmed himself and instinctively looked up at the ceiling. This sight made his pupils shrink suddenly - he saw a pupa hanging on the ceiling!

"There's another one up there," murmured Holmes, with a sense of foreboding in his heart.

He originally thought that the pupa was accidentally left behind by Valletta. After all, anyone could have been careless in the chaos just now. However, when he looked around, he was surprised to find that everyone present had turned their eyes in his direction.

"Mr. Holmes, this is the 'pet' I told you about." Miss Jenny walked quickly to Holmes and said in a low voice,

"Also, if you saw Valletta's 'pet', from a human perspective... I have to tell you that it's best to pretend you didn't see it."

Holmes frowned slightly. He didn't understand why Miss Jenny said that.

However, before he could ask, Valletta had already manipulated the spider silk to remove the pupa.

As the pupa was slowly opened, a strong smell of blood wafted into his nose, and Holmes couldn't help but cover his nose subconsciously.

After the pupa fully unfolded, he could see the scene inside clearly - it was a bloody middle-aged man with a twisted and deformed body and a hideous face.

Although he could hardly open his eyes because of the foul smell, Holmes could still see that the middle-aged man had new and old wounds on his body and must have been abused for a long time.

Although he didn't know why Miss Violetta tortured this man, as a human being, Holmes still felt that he should say a word or two.

Seeing that Holmes wanted to say something, Miss Jenny quickly covered his mouth and pulled him aside.

"Listen to me, Mr. Holmes.

That man...he deserved it."
