Chapter 1766 Leaving

When Hoshimi Miya suddenly mentioned leaving, Hu Yi, who was standing to the side, was stunned for a moment, and a hint of reluctance appeared on his face.

These past few days, she and the other person have been inseparable, and they have formed a deep friendship. Naturally, she felt a little reluctant when she suddenly heard the topic of leaving.

But she also knew that the other party would eventually leave, since when they came, they were just here to take a look and had no intention of staying for long.

After leaving the Koga leader, Hu Yi looked listless and always seemed hesitant to speak when he looked at Hoshimi Miyabi beside him.

Hoshimi Miyabi naturally understood what she meant and said with amusement, "You don't want me to leave!"

"Then could you stay a little longer?" Hu Yi asked.

“I came out to travel the world, how could I possibly stay in one place for a long time?” Hoshimi Miyabi said with a smile.

"And after you finish your travels, will you return to your family?" Hu Yi asked.

Hoshimi Miyabi shook her head. "I have more important things to do. After I've traveled around and gained more information about this world, I will start doing what I need to do."

"What needs to be done? What is it?" Hu Yi asked curiously, originally thinking she would return to her family, but he didn't expect this answer.

“It’s a large-scale project that we absolutely have to do, and we might need your help then!” Hoshimi Miyabi said with a smile.

"Do you need our help?" Hu Yi asked, looking like he was waiting for you to speak.

"You'll find out then, and it shouldn't be too long, but you might have to make a choice then," Hoshimi Masashi said meaningfully.

No matter how curious Hu Yi asked, Hoshimi Miyako just smiled and didn't answer.

I stayed at Hu Yi's house for another night.

Early the next morning, Hoshimi Miyabi, accompanied by Hu Yi, her brother, Gennosuke, Muroga Hyoma, and others, left Manji Valley and headed towards Honshu Island.

That area in the central plains is where Kyoto is located, while the eastern coastal area is where Edo is located, which is the later Tokyo.

Hoshimi Miyabi originally intended to head directly south to Tsubakigakure, where Iga was located.

Manji Valley and Tsubakigakure are located due north and due south, respectively. The distance between them is neither too close nor too far. To the west, Kyoto lies between them, and to the east, after passing Sunpu Castle, lies Edo.

In terms of location, Koga is the best, as it is convenient to travel to any destination. Iga, on the other hand, is closer to Kyoto.

Hoshimi Miyabi's plan was to go to Kyoto first, then Tsubagakure, making a loop before heading directly to Edo. Once she had seen these important cities, she was ready to begin her mission.

Looking back, Hu Yi could still be seen standing on a distant earthen cliff.

"What a loyal and affectionate girl!" Hoshimi Miya smiled to herself, then strode away. Once she entered the dense forest path, her figure flashed and disappeared, leaving only a fleeting afterimage.

Once upon a time... in a certain place... there were two people... they lived happily ever after there...

A simple, rhythmic melody drifted along a mountain path. A middle-aged man with his hair tied in a bun, carrying a hoe on his shoulder and wearing a dusty, dirty work jacket, hummed as he walked. His straw sandals were worn beyond recognition, but he still walked briskly along the path, the small pebbles seemingly having no effect on him.

After turning past a huge rock, the path suddenly opened up, and in the distance, in a bamboo forest, two wooden houses and a thatched hut could be vaguely seen.

Upon seeing the wooden house, the man, carrying a hoe, wiped the fine beads of sweat from his brow, his eyes lighting up with excitement, and he stopped humming a tune.

Just as he was about to take another step forward, he suddenly heard a series of hurried footsteps behind him. He turned around and saw three figures running quickly towards him from a distance.

The figures carried bows and arrows, some with spears on their backs, others with long swords. Their clothes were a haphazard mix of colors, with incomplete armor made of wood, rattan, and straw.

The man's expression changed upon seeing this. With such a disheveled appearance, the person who came usually had only one identity: a bandit, the kind who roams around.

The man immediately tried to dodge, but he was a step too slow and was spotted by the person running ahead.

"Hey, it's you, you bastard! I saw you, are you trying to hide?!"

Before they could finish shouting, three bandits had already run up to them.

"My lords, my lords, I'm just a farmer, please spare me..." The man put down his hoe and quickly begged for mercy.

"Let you go..." The leader, a man with a large sword on his back and wooden armor hanging on his chest, looked him up and down. "Why are you running? Are you hiding something on you?"

"I...I have nothing," the man patted himself, looking completely empty-handed.

"Where do you live?" asked a bald man carrying a gun behind the man with the knife.

“It’s right ahead,” the man hesitated for a moment, but he could see the houses in the bamboo forest in the distance if he turned his head, so he didn’t dare to lie.

The three bandits followed the man's gaze and saw the house in the bamboo forest.

"That's your house, right? It must be your house. Come on, take us there."

"We've been running around for two days, and we're completely out of food,"

"Hurry up and go find something to eat!"

The three bandits, while talking, also pushed and shoved the man toward the bamboo forest.

The man, looking distressed, was pushed forward. Just as he entered the bamboo forest, before he even got close to the houses, the door of one of the larger wooden houses opened, and a woman with a headscarf on her head came out, carrying a pottery jar in her hand. She walked towards a large stone trough in the thatched hut, presumably to fetch water.

Hearing the noise behind her, the woman turned around and saw her man being led over by three hideous-looking men.

"Yifu!" the woman exclaimed, dropping the pottery jar and running over.

Nen Gang could tell that the woman was the man's wife. Although she had the air of a village woman from her labor, her features were still very delicate, and she must have been quite beautiful when she was young.

"Wow! In this remote mountain area, I never expected to find such a beautiful woman... Brother, we're really lucky!"

"Once we shake off those persistent ghosts, our luck will be on the horizon!"

The bald man carrying a long spear and another disheveled man carrying a long spear spoke excitedly to the man carrying a knife.

The man with the knife on his back, stroking his messy stubble, walked up with a lewd grin.

The woman stopped in her tracks, startled, and stood there, her hands nervously clasped to her chest.

At this moment, the farmer broke free from the two men holding him and tried to run over to protect his wife.

Before he could run two steps, the man with the knife on his back kicked him to the ground.
