Necromancer Farming Notes Figure Master

Chapter 907 The Secret of the Krusty Krab

Early in the morning, at the border between the slums and the middle-class area, a luxury car came to a steady stop.

The driver quickly got out of the car, kicked away the trash around it, and then bent down to open the back door of the luxury car.

A young, handsome man in a suit stepped out of the car. This handsome man was none other than Parker.

As soon as he got out of the car, he smelled a faint stench. Parker frowned slightly, then looked around at his surroundings.

"Over the years, the scenery here hasn't changed much. The only change might be the stench."

"Mr. Parker, you were here when you were a child?" the driver asked in surprise. He found it hard to imagine that a wealthy man would have any connection to this place in his childhood.

“I lived around here when I was a child. I spent most of my childhood here. I didn’t move out until I was six years old and ended up in this middle-class neighborhood,” Parker explained.

"You're really lucky, after all, very few people living in slums can turn their lives around," the driver sighed.

Parker shook his head upon hearing this. "Actually, when I was a child, this was considered part of a middle-class area. It's just that it later became a slum. Urban development has shrunk inwards, and the outskirts are being forgotten."

"So, you invested in building houses here to make up for the regrets of your childhood?" The driver seemed to have figured out Parker's logic.

The driver had previously wondered why Parker would invest in building a building in such a godforsaken place.

After all, this place is located near a slum, and the security situation is very bad.

Middle-class people certainly won't buy houses here, and people living in slums simply can't afford them. Investing in housing here would be the most foolish decision imaginable.

But the driver felt that Parker was definitely not that kind of idiot, after all, an idiot couldn't become a millionaire at such a young age.

Now the driver finally understood why Parker had acted that way. It turned out the wealthy man wanted to return home in glory; such a sentiment was understandable.

“Heh, I’m not a sentimental person. I didn’t build residential buildings here, but a fire station and a police station,” Parker said.

"Is that so?" The driver looked quite surprised.

The amount of information revealed in Parker's words was enormous.

The police station and fire station are now located in the middle-class area.

If a new administrative building is to be built here, it indicates that the city's mayor is consciously trying to improve the environment of the slums. This might be a good thing for some of the poorer residents.

The driver's mind started racing; he decided to buy land nearby. Maybe it would appreciate in value later. Land in the slums was cheap, and even if he wanted to buy some, it wouldn't cost much. The risk of this kind of investment was relatively low.

This driver is a member of the Dragon King family, and his job is to act as Parker's driver and bodyguard.

Parker glanced at the driver, who was deep in thought, out of the corner of his eye, and then gave a strange smile.

Actually, Parker built the building here at the invitation of a forensic pathologist.

The forensic pathologist seemed to be Grek's right-hand man. Grek's hospital received many injured firefighters. To house these firefighters, the pathologist started looking for ways to buy buildings.

Although he had a considerable amount of money at his disposal, he didn't want to waste it. Buying a house in a middle-class area was simply too expensive.

So he had to settle for second best, ending up on the edge of a middle-class area. The housing prices here are much lower, but the security isn't great.

In response, the forensic doctor thought of another group of people that Grek had asked him to arrange.

Those people are illegal immigrants; they have no stable jobs, no legal status, and live on the edge of survival every day. What they lack is a job.

So the forensic doctor had a brilliant idea: he wanted to use the money to build a building, partly to house the firefighters, and partly to provide jobs for the undocumented immigrants.

However, he didn't know much about building structures. But he had seen Puck at the Seigaku gathering and knew that Puck seemed to be involved in this area. So he contacted Puck directly and explained his intentions.

Parker initially had absolutely no interest in this project. After all, it was the kind of project that was difficult and unrewarding.

But the clever Parker quickly put his mind to work and came up with an idea for developing the slums. He figured he could use the heroic firefighters to create momentum and revitalize those neglected plots of land.

So Parker deliberately chose a place where he had lived as a child, because he was quite familiar with it.

On the other hand, he deliberately lied, saying he was going to build a police station and a fire station there. But whether those people would actually come after the buildings were completed was another matter entirely.

His statement will definitely mislead some people. They will think that the mayor wants to renovate the area, so many people will come to buy land.

But no matter how fast they went, they couldn't outrun Parker. Parker had already acquired most of the better plots of land in the area. Anyone else wanting to buy land could only do so by purchasing land from him at a higher price.

“Let’s go, a new friend of mine is waiting for me up ahead,” Parker said.

"Okay." The driver hurriedly followed.

After walking a short distance, Parker and his driver arrived at the front of a newly renovated storefront.

“Burger King.” Parker looked up at the sign.

When the forensic pathologist saw Parker arrive, he quickly got up and welcomed him in. With Parker's help, the pathologist saved a considerable amount of money. He clearly valued Parker highly.

He also greatly admired this young and promising entrepreneur.

"Would you like something to eat?" the forensic doctor asked with a smile.

"No need, I'm not hungry." Parker looked around at the store's facilities.

Then he saw a man with burn scars on his face at the front desk, and that man was clearly the shop owner.

"This must be one of the hero firefighters, right?" Parker asked the shop owner.

"Thank you! I wouldn't dare call myself a hero; I'm just a hamburger vendor now." The shop owner smiled.

“I heard that my colleagues would be coming here, so I moved my shop here as well.”

“I see.” Parker nodded, understanding dawning on him.

The owner personally prepared two hamburgers and brought them over, along with two bottles of soda.

Parker looked on in bewilderment.

"It's a free gift. Thank you for your help," the shop owner said sincerely.

“…” Parker paused for a moment before saying, “You’re welcome.”

Parker picked up the hamburger and started eating. The hamburger tasted average to him, but compared to other roadside stalls, it was quite delicious.

“I’ve already contacted a construction team, and construction will begin soon. Also, I’ve registered the illegal immigrants you asked me to arrange; they’re now part of the construction team.”

"Although we don't know what will happen to them in the future, they now have formal jobs."

"I'm just curious, didn't Greke make you do this? Didn't he tell you his motives for doing these things? He's not exactly a... good person."

The forensic doctor gave a wry smile upon hearing this.

"How could someone like that be so easily understood?"

"A monster?" Parker was taken aback. But considering Dio's ability to change his appearance at will, calling him a monster didn't seem so wrong.

"It's rare that he would do a good deed. I don't know if he's satisfied with my approach," the forensic doctor said.

Parker narrowed his eyes slightly, then said to his driver, "My car is very new; hopefully, it won't get scratched by passersby."

The driver nodded and said, "I'll go check on the car."

The driver knew this was a deliberate attempt to distract him, so he picked up the hamburger and soda from the table and went outside.

Meanwhile, the shop owner went to the kitchen to prepare ingredients.

Only Parker and the forensic doctor remained in the front of the small shop.

“I heard that Grecker bought the city’s fire department. Can you persuade him to move the city’s fire department here?” Parker asked.

“Well… I’m not sure, but I can try,” the forensic doctor said.

"Yes, thank you." Parker nodded with a smile.

If they could really get the fire department to move here, the mayor might just go along with it and move the police station here too. It's a pity the police station is currently public; if only police stations could be privateized someday, Parker couldn't help but think.

He could have talked to Dio and asked the fire department to move here. But Parker really didn't want to call him "Dad." So he decided to avoid communication if possible. It was better to leave this to the forensic pathologist.

"..."

The two didn't talk much after that. But since Parker hadn't finished his burger, they weren't in a hurry to leave.

Perhaps out of boredom, the forensic doctor pulled a small religious book out of his pocket.

This religious text was a gift from Greke. The forensic pathologist would take it out to look at it from time to time.

Previously, the forensic pathologist was a staunch atheist, so he wasn't particularly interested in religious texts. But ever since he encountered a real "god," he has become unusually fascinated by them.

He didn't expect to glean anything from it; he was just curious about what the gods were really thinking.

And this book, which Grek personally compiled, should contain some clues.

The forensic pathologist flipped through the pages one by one. Although he had read them hundreds of times, he still liked to look at them whenever he had free time.

Parker, who was standing nearby, didn't pay much attention at first, but he became interested after seeing the title on the book cover.

“Greek…”

"Is this a psychology book?" Parker asked.

"Hmm? No, it's a religious text. Many of the stories inside are adaptations of other religious tales available on the market. But I find the stories quite interesting. Would you like to take a look?" The forensic doctor handed over the book.

Parker took it and began to read it quickly.
