Quickly wear the boss and don’t be cannon fodder
Chapter 2140 Highway Survival 36
Su Yan told Duo'er to give instructions that everyone should get a good night's rest and that they would be leaving the city the next day, so that everyone should be prepared.
Try not to make any noise at night, and have someone keep watch downstairs to avoid being surrounded by zombies without even realizing it.
As for Su Yan, he slipped away from the rooftop after everyone had rested.
In the pitch-black night, the entire city was devoid of light, filled only with decay and death.
The players hid in various corners, trying to minimize their presence.
A city overrun with zombies—these 10,000 people have neither advanced weapons nor extraordinary abilities. To confront the zombies head-on would be tantamount to suicide.
They would be exhausted just from using sheer numbers; it would be impossible for them to kill all the zombies in the city.
Of course, there are also many ambitious players who have started looking for secret armories or similar places in the city. They want to find weapons and pull off a big heist.
Anyway, this city isn't real; it's just a copy. It doesn't matter if it's destroyed. If we had weapons with high destructive power like atomic bombs or nuclear bombs, that would be even better. One bomb could solve so many problems.
Unfortunately, reality is far from ideal. This city is highly commercialized, with many skyscrapers, but very few industrial bases, let alone military factories.
At best, you'd be lucky to find a few guns at the police station; forget about those high-tech weapons.
Some players are planning to set up a base, clear out the surrounding zombies, and then gradually clear out more zombies to expand the safe zone.
However, this is not a task that can be completed in a short period of time; it requires everyone's concerted efforts.
Their mission is to escape the zombie city. If there are no more zombies in the city, then they don't need to escape.
Besides, who knows if there won't be zombies outside once we escape? Rather than running around aimlessly and ending up with nowhere to go, we might as well use this city as a base and turn it into a paradise.
This idea received a lot of support from players. After all, no one knows how many zombies are in the outside city. What if you escape from one zombie city to another?
What's the point of escaping like that?
This is indeed a problem, so instead of passively running away, we should start thinking about how to clear out these zombies.
Many teams have already discussed with other players in the same instance that if they stay in the city and everyone works together, with one team guarding one area, the surrounding zombies will eventually be cleared out.
After all, the zombies haven't been upgraded yet, so these evolved players aren't as difficult to deal with as they might have imagined.
Su Yan's team members were also very interested in the team leaders' proposals.
However, Su Yan has already gone out to scavenge for supplies and hasn't paid attention to the discussions in the faction channel yet.
Under the cover of night, Su Yan put an invisibility talisman on himself and went to several supermarkets.
Although she can only stack the same items in her system space, she has a space ring. Having traveled through so many fantasy worlds, how could she not prepare more space rings and jewelry?
This time, she used her spatial ring to pack almost everything in the supermarket, including rice, flour, cooking oil, clothing, food, housing, and transportation.
Even the gold and silver jewelry and jade pieces in the mall are just sitting there, so she might as well take them all away to save them from being tarnished.
Despite the fact that she collects a massive amount of resources that she could never use up in several lifetimes during each apocalypse, she has never stopped doing charity work in different eras.
She donated all the supplies in the space to charity, and what she used for herself was less than the tip of the iceberg.
Su Yan didn't take everything. After all, there were still players in this instance, and he wanted to leave some for them. If they came to loot the supplies and found nothing, wouldn't that be a disaster?
Su Yan ran almost all over the city in one night, sweeping away most of the supplies like a whirlwind, even triggering warnings from the instance.
System warning: "Dungeon resources are severely depleted. If any more resources are stolen, this dungeon will collapse, and all players may face dungeon penalties."
Upon receiving the warning, Su Yan looked somewhat embarrassed. She had been too arrogant; even the system couldn't stand it anymore.
999: "Hehe, you almost caused the dungeon to crash."
Su Yan: "How can a scholar's actions be considered stealing? Isn't this just making use of waste? Rather than letting it rot in the dungeon, I'd rather take it and use it in a more meaningful way."
999: "You're such a clever little devil."
Su Yan: "It's not that people don't leave empty-handed. I've been targeted so badly by the system, how can I feel at peace if I don't collect some interest?"
999: "It would be great if it were possible to commit crimes across cities, as this city doesn't have many supplies left."
Sigh, Su Yan and 999 sighed at the same time. They wondered if escaping this city would allow them to enter another city. If so, Su Yan was starting to look forward to it.
I only discovered what people were discussing in the faction channel during my free time.
Idle Old Iron Head: "This instance has 10,000 people. We can divide them into four factions, each occupying the east, west, south, and north, and then start clearing out the zombies. We might be able to clear out all the zombies in the city. Who knows if we can escape to a safe place? It's better to clear out the city and turn it into a safe base."
Half a cigarette: "A city with a population of several million is just a few million zombies. How long would it take to clear them all? And can you guarantee that every player can take on two at a time? If they get surrounded by zombies, they won't be able to escape."
Wenren Feng: "We are human beings, we have intelligence, and killing zombies doesn't necessarily require close combat. We can use weapons and traps, and we're sure we can come up with a good way to deal with these zombies."
He turned and left, saying, "I won't comment on your methods, but I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts: do you want to escape this city directly, or stay and defend it?"
Most players want to escape the city, so sending them to kill zombies will test their courage and patience.
Of course, there are many people with both ideas, after all, no one knows which path is truly feasible.
Su Yan didn't comment after reading it. Those who wanted to stay in the city and eliminate all the zombies were simply naive.
If we say there are 10,000 people, and each person kills 10 zombies a day, then they can kill 100,000 zombies a day.
Under this ideal condition, one million could be killed in ten days and two million in twenty days.
In a city with a population of five or six million, it would take less than two months to clear out most of the zombies.
But that's the ideal situation. There are so many uncertainties in these two months. Will all the players be able to follow the instructions? And will everyone have the ability to kill zombies?
Can the player's body withstand killing zombies every day?
Whether there are enough resources to support players for more than two months is a problem.
The reality is far from theoretical; if 10,000 people are surrounded by 100,000 zombies, it's basically equivalent to the entire army being wiped out.
Therefore, anyone who thinks they can quickly clear out the zombies is being completely idealistic and naive.
