The mutated lion roared and swung its claws at Chen Bei, who was landing above it, as its large claws swept down with a whoosh.

Chen Bei gripped his sword and moved along the back of the mutated lion, cutting open a larger wound.

Two streams of sword energy seeped into the wound.

One causes a cold attack.

Another one can cause wounds to become unhealable and accumulate curse effects.

"Ow!"

The mutated lion roared and spun around, creating a wide-ranging impact that sent Chen Bei flying.

Chen Bei tumbled and landed in mid-air, his Thousand Hands Cloak pulling out several guns, and fired several shots at the mutated lion.

The mutated lion charged forward despite the bullet attacks, and when it got close, it slammed down with both claws.

Chen Bei summoned a giant ice spike that rose from the ground, and his massive claw slammed down, piercing the ice spike directly into the palm of his hand.

The ice spike also immobilized the claw, restricting its movement.

Chen Bei stepped on the ice spikes and skimmed across the water, returning to mid-air.

Swish!Swish!Swish!

With a series of swift slashes from his twin swords, he struck the mutated lion's head repeatedly, the sword energy causing damage deep within its skull.

The mutated lion was ultimately no match for the attack and collapsed to the ground with a loud thud.

"We... just wanted... to become human..." the mutated lion uttered its last words.

"Let alone in the Otherworld, in any human world, such thoughts are punishable by death."

Chen Bei landed on the ground, his foot landing squarely on the blood flowing from the mutated lion.

Even the king of beasts in the zoo has been killed, so the remaining mutated animals are even less of a threat; it's just a matter of how many there are.

Chen Bei led his team, fighting their way through the enemy lines while searching, until they found the interface.

This is an iron gate with warning signs and several weather icons on it.

Go through it, and you'll reach the next area.

He knew that while he could get through the zoo area by sheer force, the next area would be a different story.

The situation varies from region to region.

We had just arrived in the new area when we heard a deafening clap of thunder.

Chen Bei looked around.

The surrounding area is a vast wilderness with sparse vegetation, and the terrain is not flat, with undulating hills.

This area, called "Cataclysmic Wasteland," is prone to various extreme weather events, sometimes even combining two types of weather.

Here, force is of little use.

Chen Bei couldn't possibly defy the weather by firing a burst of bullets into the sky.

At most, it can use the Snow Sword's abilities to create a snowy landscape.
