Chapter 1613 Necrozma and Lunala Appear
While the dual-wielding strategy isn't ideal for Duskmane form, it's still acceptable, as it's primarily a physical attacker but can also utilize special attacks.
Because after transforming into Ultimate Necrozma, both attack stats are the same, and the physical attack stat is more vulnerable to Intimidate.
Furthermore, neither of the two main attacks in Duskmane form could damage Incineroar, the most frequently used god-tier hero in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon battles.
Therefore, if you're going for a special attack build, you can use the special attack move Earth Power to counter Incineroar.
Anyway, it transforms into Ultimate Necrozma as soon as it enters the field, with all special attack moves, so it's not a waste of its original high base stats.
However, this is not good for the Dawnwing form, as there is absolutely no reason for this form to focus on physical attack.
Instead, with such a high physical attack and a 4x weakness to Dark, even a support character without any offensive EVs could be easily defeated by a non-STAB type like "Transplant".
In terms of attributes, they have also changed to Steel + Psychic and Ghost + Psychic.
Steel + Psychic is a good combination; it's the same type combination as Metagross, and because it's Steel, it has many resistances.
Ghost + Psychic is the same type combination as Creepy, granting immunity to a large number of Normal-type moves, as well as Fighting-type moves. Unfortunately, it has two weaknesses of 4x.
So you'll find that neither of these attribute combinations is great, but it's still much better than the original pure Psychic type.
Their advantages come from Steel and Ghost types, while their disadvantages come from Psychic types.
If Ultimate Necrozma could combine the best of everything, taking the essence and discarding the dross, and become a Steel/Ghost type, that would be great.
If you discard the Psychic type, it will be perfect; it's the same type combination as Cyclops and Aegislash.
Unfortunately, it's not; it's Psychic + Dragon type.
Why do all four of Necrozma's forms have Psychic-type abilities? Can you please remove the Psychic type? It's such a burden.
In terms of skill pool, both forms can learn Solgaleo's and Lunala's exclusive skills, Meteor Dash and Shadow Light, respectively. In addition, Necrozma's own two exclusive skills, Photon Surge and Prism Laser, give them a total of three exclusive skills.
However, despite its high power of 160, Prism Laser is rarely used because it causes the user to be stunned afterward.
That means I only dealt 160 power in two rounds combined, averaging 80 per round.
Why don't I just use two Lightning Surges? Each shot has a power of 100, so two rounds would be 200.
Moreover, both of them are Psychic-type special attack skills and they are duplicates, taking up my skill slots.
The final, ultimate Necrozma is incredibly handsome.
However, in terms of combat effectiveness, if one word had to describe it, it would be "all bark and no bite."
Firstly, regarding its base stats, the total base stats are as high as 754, but due to the extremely wasteful allocation of dual-wielding,
With a combined attack power of 167 and a speed of 129, it's quite fast.
However, compared to the Twilight Mane and Dawn Wing forms, its durability has actually decreased. Its HP remains the same, but its defense and special defense have both dropped from over 100 to 97.
In terms of attributes, Psychic + Dragon is not a very good combination.
Its defense is so-so; it resists 6 attributes, but it also has a total of 6 weaknesses and no immunity attributes.
As for the output, it's not great either, only three attributes have outstanding effects.
Furthermore, neither of its two STAB moves can damage Steel-types, and it's immune to Dark and Fairy-types respectively, making its offensive capabilities extremely poor.
Mentioning its coverage is because we'll be discussing its characteristics next.
Its characteristic is called the power of the brain core, which sounds very advanced, but it's actually only slightly stronger than the power of an expert.
Brain Core Power: Increases the power of skills that can produce outstanding effects by 25%.
Expert Bringer: Increases the power of skills that can produce outstanding effects by 20%.
This feature is rather useless; it's neither useful nor worth discarding.
Because it requires a skill that is exceptionally effective.
I ask you, is Ultimate Necrozma's Attack and Special Attack already this high?
Under this premise, if the skill used can deal two or even four times the damage to the opponent, wouldn't that instantly kill them?
Is it still missing, or is it still needed, this 25% extra damage?
If there were no restriction that only exceptionally effective skills could boost power, and if Ultimate Necrozma could increase the power of any skill by 25%, that would be amazing.
Furthermore, the Psychic + Dragon type only has a weakness to Poison, Fighting, and Dragon types among its STAB moves, making its coverage too narrow. This ability is practically impossible to trigger.
If the Ultimate Necrozma's attribute combination is a type with a very wide range of attacks, such as Ice, Fairy, Ground, Fire, or Fighting, then this characteristic is acceptable.
For example, if a Pokémon with the Ice/Ground type has the Brain Core ability, it has a total of 9 types that it is super effective against. With the ability's power further enhanced, it can be said to be able to defeat one Pokémon at a time.
Fighting and Dragon types are relatively popular, but there are very few popular Poison types, such as Amoonguss, Alolan Muk, two forms of Weezing, Mega Gengar, and so on.
The skill pool is quite good, with a rich variety of both attack and transformation skills, but unfortunately it lacks Meteor Shower and Wide Guard.
Back to the present.
"I never thought I'd see Lunayara again," Lillie couldn't help but exclaim.
This reminded her of her previous experience riding Lunala into the Ultra Dimension to save her mother, Lusamine.
“Now is not the time for sentimentality. Look at that black Pokémon following Lunala,” Gladion said.
"Is that Pokémon also an Ultra Beast?" Lillie asked.
“Since it came from the Ultimate Hole, then it should be,” Dr. Barnett said.
“That’s right, it’s also an Ultra Beast, the Ubium I told you about: Jet Black,” Ash said.
"It seems that the Ultra Aura of the Alola region was absorbed by it, and it is even absorbing Lunala's Ultra Aura now," said Dr. Barnett.
While everyone was discussing, Lunayara and Necrozma in the sky were not idle either.
Lunala tried every trick in the book to escape Necrozma, but Necrozma relentlessly pursued her, determined to absorb her energy and ultimate aura.
These two first-level gods, like Super Saiyan and Frieza, one black and one white, engaged in a fierce chase and collision battle in the air.
The four-jawed needleosaur next to it was getting anxious.
