Quick Travel: Save the poor little villain
Chapter 2551 Dear Mr. Detective 02
Jinchen stood in front of the cylindrical house, looking at its appearance.
The building is indeed like its name, with a strange cylindrical structure and brick and stone surfaces covered with damp dark vines, which looks both ancient and dilapidated.
He pushed open the low iron door and walked into a dark corridor.
The corridor was narrow and winding, with no decoration on the walls except for mottled stains and occasional cracks. The smell of old paper and dust rose up.
In the darkness, it seems like there will never be an end.
Finally, after turning around countless bends, Jinchen saw a very dilapidated gate.
Most of the paint on the door panel has peeled off, and the metal door handle is covered with a thin layer of rust.
Jinchen reached out and pushed the door open, and the door hinges made a harsh squeak.
The scene behind the door suddenly became clear.
Rather than a detective agency, it looks more like an abandoned warehouse.
Several kerosene lamps hung from the high ceiling, and the dim light barely illuminated the entire space.
The three-story structure makes the interior appear very spacious. An iron staircase winds up along the wall, and each floor is piled with various boxes and documents.
There are several long tables near the windows on the first floor, piled with scattered documents and folders.
Moonlight filtered through the dusty glass windows, casting shadows on the piles of documents.
The freckled girl was sitting behind the table, chewing candy with puffy cheeks.
Hearing the door open, she looked up and looked at the person who came in curiously.
She looked no more than fifteen or sixteen years old, wearing a slightly loose plaid petticoat and her hair casually tied behind her head, looking quirky.
"Are you Cyril?" The freckled girl's voice was shrill but friendly, and the cheese candy in her mouth could be seen as she spoke.
Jinchen nodded and smiled, "Yes, hello, Miss Duoxi."
Duoxi suddenly emerged from behind the table, her skirt flying.
"Oh, this is really rare," she said, holding her face in her hands. "Finally, there's a reliable young man."
Doshi, who is only fifteen years old, said
Suddenly, her eyes lit up and she pointed excitedly behind Jinchen, "Mr. Alrick is there!"
Jinchen curled the corners of his lips slightly and turned around slowly.
Alric was standing in the shadow of the stairs, and he didn't know how long he had been standing there.
He was still wearing the suit that fitted his sturdy figure. His green eyes appeared even deeper in the dim light as he stared at Jinchen without blinking.
"We meet again, sir."
Jinchen's tone was relaxed.
Alric: "..."
His fingers on the banister tightened slightly, a little irritated. "Cyril? You?"
Jinchen nodded again, a playful glint in his blue eyes.
Good, Alric thought.
He shouldn't have come back just now. He should have been in that alley and beat this guy named Cyril until his teeth fell out.
Alric narrowed his eyes slightly, "You're very interesting."
He walked slowly down the stairs, his heels clicking on the wooden floor.
Alrick stopped in front of Jinchen and suddenly stepped on the tip of Jinchen's leather shoes.
"You recognized me a long time ago. If you do this, aren't you afraid that I will kick you out?"
Jinchen shrugged, not minding at all that his shoes were being stepped on. He lowered his head slightly and moved closer, his eyes falling on the corner of Alrick's lips.
"Sir, it seems you have no choice. You are in urgent need of a new detective."
"So...are you satisfied with my performance just now?"
The two were so close that they could feel each other's breath.
Jinchen stared at Alrick for a full thirty seconds, or perhaps longer.
Alrick narrowed his eyes, without moving his gaze away from Jinchen's face, and suddenly said, "Duoxi, you should go to bed."
Doshi, who was watching with great interest, suddenly frowned, "That's enough, Alric."
She reluctantly picked up a pile of books on the table and ran upstairs.
Only after Doshi's footsteps faded away did Alric give Jinchen a cold smile.
He grabbed Jinchen by the collar and slammed him against the wall.
The crash echoed in the empty room.
"Yes, I need a new detective," Alric's voice was low and threatening.
"I hope you do well, Mr. Cyril."
Jinchen lowered his eyes to look at him, suddenly coughed lightly, and turned his head away.
The cold white neck was stained with a faint red, as if it could not withstand such rough treatment.
"Yes, of course." His voice sounded a little weak.
Alric loosened his grip a little and sneered coldly, "It seems that your observation skills are just good, but they are too weak."
Jinchen raised his eyebrows but did not deny it.
After all, for prey that needs to be controlled, showing weakness in the early stages is a good way, isn't it?
His eyes fixed on Alric's lips again, "Well, sir, would you like some wine?"
"What?" Alric asked.
Jinchen suddenly raised his hand, and his fingertips gently brushed the corner of Alrick's lips, his voice soft.
“That must be very beautiful.”
Alric's pupils contracted slightly, and he choked out an annoyed laugh, "You're very brave."
Jinchen lowered his eyes innocently to meet Alric's gloomy gaze.
Finally, Alric let go of Jinchen's collar, which had been wrinkled by him, and tightened his fingers in annoyance.
Damn it, Alric didn't understand. He seemed to be particularly kind to Cyril. Was it because of that damn kiss?
Alric was too tired to think tonight.
He walked to the table, opened the drawer, took out a bunch of keys and threw it to Jinchen.
"Your room is at the end of the second floor."
Jinchen took the key and his fingertips accidentally brushed against Alrick's palm.
"Thank you, sir."
Alric jerked his hand away. "Don't make me regret this decision, Cyril."
He turned and walked towards the stairs without looking back at Jinchen.
The room assigned to Jinchen was not small. It had a simple iron bed, a wardrobe, and a desk with a plate of cherries on it.
Outside the green wooden window, you can faintly see the blurry outline of the moon.
Jinchen took off his coat in a good mood and sat casually at the head of the bed.
Ling rolled over on his shoulder, sounding incredibly sleepy, "Why don't you just wash up and go to bed?"
Jinchen glanced out the window, a faint smile appeared on the corner of his lips, and he picked up two cherries and put them in his mouth.
Apparently, our great detective still has some challenges ahead of him.
Sure enough, not long after, a golden key suddenly fell outside Jinchen's window and was thrown to the ground, shining in the moonlight.
Jinchen glanced at the direction where the key was thrown, and tapped lightly on the bed sheet with his slender fingers, as if waiting for someone to come.
After a while, there was a knock on the door.
Before Jinchen could respond, the door was pushed open.
