"My aunt will be here soon, let's not talk now, we'll talk when we meet."

"it is good."

Haitong ended her call with her aunt.

She said to her husband, "Auntie is on her way to our house. She said she's been missing Beibei for a long time."

Zhan Yin smiled, "Alright, let's go out after Auntie arrives."

Mrs. Shang arrived quickly, and the aunt and nephew chatted for another ten minutes or so. Urged by Mrs. Shang, Zhan Yin and his wife finally left together and went back to their respective companies for work.

At that moment, the old lady and Zhan Yue had just arrived at the hospital.

Zhan Yue also said to his grandmother, "I can just come and get it myself. Grandma doesn't need to make a trip. Bei Bei is still at home, and my older brother and sister-in-law have to go to work."

The old lady said, "Your eldest brother and sister-in-law will make the arrangements. Grandma will only be out for half a day and will go back at noon."

She wasn't worried at all, as plenty of relatives were willing to help take care of Beibei.

What if my older brother and sister-in-law are not available?

"If you really can't get away, your brother will bring Beibei to the company, or you can ask Yun Chu to take a look. Yun Chu is free these days."

Zhan Yue said, "Why didn't you think of sending her to me? I'd be happy to take care of Bei Bei. If I spend more time with her, maybe I can have a daughter as cute as Bei Bei in the future."

The old lady smiled and said, "Xiaojun has always wanted to take Beibei to stay at the Su family's house for a while. She's pregnant with her second child now and wants to have a daughter."

“But Beibei insists on having her mother take care of her at night before she will sleep. During the day, anyone can take care of her, but at night, even your brother can’t handle her.”

"Let's go print out the results and show them to Xiaoya. Didn't your rival bring his mother to the hospital for a checkup today? Didn't they also register with Xiaoya?"

"Is Grandma here to back me up?"

Zhan Yue said with a laugh, "I don't need my grandma to back me up. I really don't take Dr. Lin, my rival in love, seriously."

Zeng Xiaoya doesn't like Dr. Lin.

There's nothing to worry about regarding the war with Vietnam.

"Grandma just came to check on you. She knows you don't need her support."

The grandmother and granddaughter talked as they walked.

Zhan Yue helped his grandmother to the outside of Zeng Xiaoya's clinic, and let her sit and wait for him to get the test results.

Not long after Zhan Yue left, Dr. Lin rushed over with his parents.

His family had just returned from the beach and came straight to the hospital.

Even He Yuehua came to the hospital with her.

"Has your number been taken?"

Lin's mother was worried that the appointment she had made had been missed.

"It hasn't happened yet, we'll have to wait a bit longer."

Dr. Lin checked his registration time and saw an empty seat next to the old lady, so he asked his mother to sit down next to her.

He walked to the clinic entrance and looked inside. When Zeng Xiaoya saw him, she nodded as a greeting.

Dr. Lin smiled and did not go in to disturb Zeng Xiaoya as she was seeing other patients.

Tomorrow, Zeng Xiaoya will no longer be seeing patients at the outpatient clinic; she will return to the inpatient department.

I won't need to come to the clinic for two days until next week.

He Yuehua and Lin's father stood silently beside Lin's mother. She knew that Dr. Lin was still resentful of Dr. Zeng, after all, she had admired him for many years.

Just like with Dr. Lin, even though she knew that the person Dr. Lin truly loved was not her, she just couldn't let go.

She has devoted so much effort to Dr. Lin and his family; how could she not receive something in return for all that she has given?

Now, she sees hope.

Although she came to Dr. Lin with the promise of sharing a bed with him and demanding he take responsibility for her, the best thing would be for Dr. Lin to be willing to marry her, so that she could be happy.

He Yuehua knew that forced relationships wouldn't be happy, so after Dr. Lin didn't explicitly promise to take responsibility for her, she stopped bothering him about sharing a bed.

Lin's parents prefer her, and that's her hope. Dr. Lin is a filial son, and he will listen to his parents' advice.

Lin's mother held He Yuehua's hand and said softly, "Yuehua, in Auntie's eyes, you are better than Dr. Zeng."

Hearing what Lin's mother said, the old lady next to her realized that these were the family members of her grandson's rival. She turned her head to look at Lin's mother and smiled as she asked, "Did you also register with Dr. Zeng?"

Lin's mother nodded in agreement. Seeing the old lady's kind face and the elegant and noble aura she exuded, she felt that this old lady was no ordinary person.

She asked the old woman, "Are you alone? Didn't your children or grandchildren come with you to see the doctor?"

Is this dignified old lady's life not as fulfilling as hers?

“My grandson came with me. I’m not here for a doctor’s visit. I came for a physical exam yesterday and I’ll be able to get some of the results today. After I get the results, I’d like to ask Dr. Zeng to take a look. My grandson went to get the results for me.”

Lin's mother smiled and said, "Oh, I'm here for a check-up too. Dr. Zeng and my son are alumni; they're senior and junior to each other."

She boasted about her son's acquaintance with Zeng Xiaoya.

The old lady said "Oh," and then asked, "Does your son also work at this hospital?"

"He doesn't work at the hospital; he runs his own clinic."

The old lady praised him, "That's great! He opened his own clinic and made a name for himself, earning more than he did working at the hospital. Is that your son?"

She looked at Dr. Lin.

Lin's mother nodded, "That's my son."

The old lady looked at He Yuehua again, sized her up, and then asked Lin's mother, "Is this your daughter-in-law? She and your son look a bit like a married couple."

"Yuehua isn't my daughter-in-law yet, but that might change in the future. Really? They look like a married couple. I haven't looked closely, but I really like Yuehua."

Lin's mother held He Yuehua's hand and said, "Yuehua is very good to me. Every time I come for a check-up, Yuehua accompanies me to the hospital."

He Yuehua smiled and said, "Auntie, this is what I should do."

She was also very gentle with the old lady because the old lady said that she and Dr. Lin looked like a married couple.

"You just said your son's girlfriend is better than Dr. Zeng?"

The old lady had a gossipy look on her face.

Lin's mother looked a little embarrassed, and quickly said, "In my eyes, Yuehua is excellent. Dr. Zeng, old lady, to be honest, my son likes her junior, Dr. Zeng."

Lin's mother whispered the last few words into the old lady's ear, not wanting anyone else to hear.

She whispered, "Dr. Zeng comes from a good family, but I don't think she knows how to manage a household. She's not as good at managing a household as Yuehua. My husband and I prefer Yuehua, but my son is still hung up on Dr. Zeng."

The old lady also whispered, "Dr. Zeng is very busy with work, so he probably doesn't have time to take care of his family."

“That’s what I think too. My son is a doctor himself, and he’s busy. If he marries a woman who’s just as busy, what will happen to their little family? I’m not trying to belittle Dr. Zeng, but unless she marries into a wealthy family and becomes a rich lady, she’ll likely be looked down upon when she goes on blind dates.”

"I think she doesn't have time to take care of her family."

"I just don't know if Dr. Zeng is destined to marry into a wealthy family and become a rich wife. If she chooses my son, it would be a good match."

The old lady chuckled inwardly. Lin's mother was trying to have it both ways—she wanted He Yuehua as her daughter-in-law, and she also wanted Zeng Xiaoya. She valued He Yuehua's ability to manage a household, and she valued Zeng Xiaoya's family background.
