Chapter 1185 The Opportunity to Escape, a Key Element of Ragnarok
"Well, my dear brother?" Hela walked calmly up to Thor, grabbed him by the neck, and lifted him up. "Now do you see the difference between us?"
"I can forgive your foolishness, as long as you answer my question and tell me where the people of Asgard are?"
hum!
Suddenly, the sound of the Rainbow Bridge operating rang out, followed by a colorful beam of light shooting straight into the sky, passing through the atmosphere and entering the universe.
"Haha!" Thor forced a smile with relief. "Looks like you won't find them."
Hela snorted coldly, then summoned a sword wreathed in dark green energy and plunged it into Thor's chest.
puff!
"what!!!"
"Hiss!" Rocket gasped, and whispered weakly, "Didn't you say you wouldn't kill him?"
"Then you really underestimate the vitality of the Asgardians." Hela slowly pulled out the sword of the night sky. Thor's face contorted in pain, but the muffled groans proved that he was still alive.
After the longsword was pulled out, Thor's wounds didn't bleed much; it looked like he'd been stabbed with a knife, but it only scratched the skin.
"A god whose divine power has been awakened will have a more vigorous life force."
"I am Groot!" Groot timidly offered his opinion.
The Rockets nodded in agreement, "They are quite difficult to kill."
Hela tossed Thor aside, and a squad of undead soldiers immediately forced him to kneel before her.
"The guardians of the Rainbow Bridge have indeed betrayed us. They're lucky; I won't be initiating any killings for a while."
"As for you, my dear brother..." Hela hesitated for a moment, "Frigga misses you very much. She can visit you often in the dungeon from now on."
Upon hearing this, Thor's pupils trembled slightly, and he forced himself to say, "Ragnarok."
"What do you want to say?"
"Ragnarok is coming, and Thanos will take the opportunity to seize the Space Stone."
I have sent most of Asgard's people away, but my mother has not left. Please protect her.
Hela raised an eyebrow slightly. "Suppress it."
A squad of undead soldiers dragged Thor away and led him to the dungeon.
Rocket and Groot were terrified at the sight and dared not move.
"Your Majesty, we are only here to deliver a message."
"Now that the message has arrived, can we..." Rocket asked with a forced smile, "...leave?"
“I’m afraid that won’t work.” Hela looked at Rocket and Groot with a meaningful gaze. “A talking, highly intelligent raccoon, and a nearly extinct tree-man.”
"It's very interesting, she'll like it."
"Her?" Rocket's eyes darted around. "I don't think the Queen will like us."
“It’s not Frigga,” Hela said, shaking her head.
"Who is that?" Rocket asked in surprise. Are there any other noble women in Asgard besides Hela and Frigga?
“You will find out, but not now,” Hela waved her hand. “Until then, you can stay in the dungeon.”
Rocket and Groot exchanged glances. "Your Majesty, we have something very important to attend to..."
Before they finished speaking, several undead soldiers appeared behind them, allowing them to enjoy the same treatment as Thor.
A green light flashed across Hela's body, and her lower abdomen swelled slightly.
She gently stroked her swollen belly, a warm smile spreading across her face. "Mom has found you two toys, fun toys, I'm sure you'll like them."
......
Aaron watched as the Rainbow Bridge saw off the last group of Asgardians, and sighed softly, "Having gone this far, Thor can die in peace."
"Hela won't kill him, will she?" Wanda asked with some concern.
“He was mentally prepared, and he went without any regrets,” Aaron said half-jokingly. “But he probably won’t die.”
"should?"
“Frigga is still in Asgard, and…” Aaron paused for a few seconds, hesitating to continue, “I have faith in Odin.”
"That old bastard will never be willing to die if he hasn't arranged a way out for Thor."
"So there's a high chance that Thor will get a severe beating from Hela, and then... spend the rest of his life in jail."
He's her own brother, after all, and poses no threat to her throne. He won't die; at most, he'll lose an arm or a leg.
Wanda's lips twitched slightly. "You're right."
"As for Rocket and Groot..." Aaron clicked his tongue, "If Hela is in a good mood, they might be fine, but if she's in a bad mood... killing two people would be just a piece of cake."
Hopefully their luck will improve, otherwise the Guardians of the Galaxy will be down two members.
"Then what do we do next?"
“We shall await Ragnarok,” Aaron said calmly. “I will inform Banner to take the Monster out of Asgard.”
"Then what if..."
"Darling, there are no 'what ifs'."
Don't forget, our sole purpose in coming to Asgard is to save Hela's life when Ragnarok arrives.
Wanda pursed her lips, ultimately suppressing the kindness in her heart.
They came to save Hela, not to be saviors. To put it bluntly, what happens to Asgard has absolutely nothing to do with them.
......
dungeon.
"This isn't fair." Rocket kicked the cell door hard. "It's one thing to lock you up, but why are we being locked up too?"
We have no ill intentions towards Asgard; we're just here to deliver a message.
“I am Groot!” Groot said, looking aggrieved.
“I also feel wronged, but the Goddess of Death is clearly unreasonable.”
"Shut up, you damned rat!" Proxima Midnight cursed in frustration. "These guards are all dead men. You can scream your lungs out and they still won't let you out."
"Hmph! At least we still have a chance to be released."
Unlike you, who will spend the rest of your lives in prison.
"you..."
"What? You're not convinced?" Rocket stretched out his leg in a smug way, looking at Proxima Midnight with a defiant gaze. "Bite me! I promise I won't talk back."
Proxima Midnight stared fiercely at the rocket across the aisle, wishing it could tear him to pieces.
"You should be glad you weren't locked up with me, or I would have torn you to pieces."
"Hahaha!" Rocket laughed loudly, pointing to himself and then to Groot, "Get this straight, there are two of us."
You should be thankful; if we were locked up together, it would be the two of us against one of you.
"Please, everyone, calm down. This isn't the time to argue," Thor interjected, speechless.
Rocket rolled his eyes at Thor, who was locked in the next cell, and said irritably, "You can generate electricity, right? Breaking open the cell door shouldn't be too difficult for you!"
“It’s still quite difficult,” Thor said with a wry smile. “When Hela plunged that sword into my body, she also infused it with some of the power of death, locking away my power as the god of thunder.”
“Now…” Thor opened his hands, a faint arc of electricity flickering between his index fingers, but it was quickly extinguished.
"Tsk! Your current energy is only enough to light a cigarette at best."
"More or less." Thor said noncommittally. "I need enough time to recover my divine power, or... I need an artifact, no weaker than Mjolnir, to channel the energy out of my body."
"I understand, which means we can't count on them in the short term."
"Even if my divine power is sealed, there is only Hela in all of Asgard whom I cannot defeat."
"Come on! How many living people are there in Asgard right now?"
“Bohart,” Proxima Midnight sneered. “The Asgardians live on that planet.”
"How did you know?" Thor asked warily.
“I went with your spaceship that was transferring refugees, and that’s when I happened to discover this secret.”
I must admit, you've chosen a good location. The planet is well-defended, and its owner is very mysterious.
Furthermore, Thanos's plan had reached a critical juncture, and he was unwilling to waste resources on other matters; otherwise, he would have certainly slaughtered half of Asgard's population.
"Dare he?"
Why wouldn't you dare?
If the God of Thunder, instead of the Goddess of Death, were sitting on the throne of Asgard, Thanos's army would have already razed Asgard to the ground.
"This comparison is a bit hurtful," the Rockets said, seemingly enjoying the drama. "But that's just how it is."
"I'm Groot!"
“Doesn’t Hela want to know where the Asgardians went?” Proxima Midnight said meaningfully. “This might be a good bargaining chip; maybe she’ll set me free.”
“If you dare to do that, I will definitely kill you,” Thor said expressionlessly, but he wasn’t too worried.
Bohart is Gaius's territory, and Aaron's relationship with Hela is much deeper than his relationship with him.
Moreover, he seems to have plans to hand over the people of Asgard to Hela after Ragnarok.
"Tch! I don't have that idea yet. I don't want to face the Goddess of Death again." Proxima Midnight patted the cell door made of an energy barrier, a cold smile curving her lips. "Besides, the dungeon is a safe enough place until I get the Space Stone."
Staying here might not necessarily be a bad thing.
“My gut feeling tells me there’s a conspiracy,” Rocket said, tapping his chin. “She seems very confident that she can get the Space Stone.”
“I can tell from her voice, but do you think she’ll tell us her action plan?”
"I'm Groot!"
Is this the only sentence he can say?
“Groot is saying that if they take the Space Stone before them, they can stop this conspiracy.”
"Easier said than done." Thor shrugged helplessly. "The Space Stone is in Odin's vault, and we're all locked up here. How are we supposed to get it?"
"I'm Groot!"
"what did he say?"
"Prison break." Rocket rolled his eyes speechlessly. "I have plenty of prison break experience, but Asgardian prisons are different from those of other civilizations."
"Our equipment has been confiscated, we have no free time, and the space is so small... Unless we can break through this barrier, we have no chance of escaping."
"Furthermore, I don't think those brainless undead soldiers will give us a chance to escape. Even if we manage to break out of the dungeon, Hela can catch us in no time."
"But it's not like there's no chance." Rocket changed the subject. "Ragnarok is our chance to escape."
The dungeon will inevitably collapse when the apocalypse comes.
“That’s ridiculous,” Thor said irritably. “How do you know we won’t be buried alive?”
"I'm Groot!"
"Did you hear that? Groot can handle it."
Thor looked Groot up and down, seemingly surprised that the tree-man had this ability.
"Ragnarok, who knows when that will be?"
"If the Fire Giant King Surtur is not talking nonsense, only when his crown touches the Eternal Flame can Ragnarok be initiated."
But I've already dealt with him, and that hideous crown of his is locked away in Odin's treasury.
“Is that even a question?” Rocket said without hesitation. “Either someone brought the Eternal Flame to Asgard, or someone broke into Odin’s vault and stole the crown.”
“No need for that,” Thor waved his hand. “The Eternal Flame is also in Odin’s vault.”
"Huh?" Rocket paused, staring at Thor with wide eyes in disbelief. "Are you sure he's Odin's son?"
"of course."
"are you an idiot?"
“Take your words back, rabbit.” Thor’s expression turned serious. “You are insulting the son of Odin.”
"Ha! Haha! Hahaha!!!"
The Rockets couldn't help but burst into laughter, laughing so hard that tears streamed down their faces.
After a while, he coughed a few times before he could barely stop laughing.
"Is it funny?"
No, please don't misunderstand.
"I'm trained too, I don't usually laugh unless I can't help it," Rocket laughed. "Odin, the legendary king of gods who rules the nine realms."
It's ridiculous that such a great being would have a son with cerebellar atrophy; it's utterly absurd.
"Rabbit, you have to take responsibility for what you said."
"Take responsibility my ass!" Rocket roared. "Do you know what you just said?"
"So Ragnarok will only begin when Surtur's Crown and the Eternal Flame meet?"
"so what?"
"The Eternal Flame is in Asgard, Surtur is in the Land of Fire, or rather, his crown is in the Land of Fire."
"These two key elements that could trigger Ragnarok were originally countless light-years apart, but some idiot's crazy actions brought them together." Rocket stared sharply at Thor and said with absolute certainty, "You still say you're not an idiot?"
"Uh..." Thor hesitated for a moment, then forced a smile and said, "Odin's vault is the safest place in the entire universe, it shouldn't be..."
"With Odin around, Odin's Treasury is the safest place in the entire universe."
"But he's dead. Now it should be called Hela's Vault," Rocket said sarcastically. "I can't believe it, the Eternal Flame and Surtur's Crown are both in Asgard, and so close at that."
"Excuse me, is the distance between them more than one hundred meters?"
"Probably not," Thor said weakly.
"Beautiful, absolutely stunning!" Rocket clapped his hands quickly. "At such a short distance, a tiny accident could cause them to collide."
That's how Ragnarok came about; it happened directly in Asgard.
