Chapter 2 Newt Scamander

"Peverell Igno."

Ignat deliberately imitated Newt's tone and replied in the same way.

Nutrgen immediately turned red and seemed a little overwhelmed.

Seeing Newt's embarrassed look, Ignat felt a little sorry.

I can't afford to be accused of making things difficult for students.

"Mr. Newt, is there anything I can do to help you? Of course, I think the crystal ball next to most of the questions should be able to give you good answers. You might as well ask first."

Igno's slender fingers pointed at the crystal ball placed on the table.

At this time, the crystal ball flickered and lit up in response to the occasion, as if it was a warm welcome.

"That's...no, Mr. Ignat."

"Actually, I have a request, a small request. I hope you don't mind, sir..."

Newt's voice was relatively normal at first, but for some reason it got quieter and quieter later on, until it was like a mosquito buzzing.

Ignat frowned and looked at Newt, who was squirming in front of him.

Merlin's beard!

This student was so shy that he didn't know what to do.

"Mr. Newt, I think you can speak freely. Based on my experience, I am sure that your voice will not affect any of your classmates during this period of time."

Newt's half-lowered head was now slightly raised, and his hands were rubbing back and forth on his chest.

This seems to be a way to encourage yourself.

Finally, he gathered up the courage and spoke.

"Mr. Igno, I thought I could take a look at your friend, Mudfurei?"

Oh, it turns out I wanted to see Xiu Xiu.

This simple request, why did this poor child act like he was going to fight a dragon.

"Of course this is possible."

Ignat shrugged, stretched out the magic spell and prepared to recite a 'flying spell'.

"Mr. Igno, please don't use curses."

Newt's voice was much louder now.

"I can walk over."

After saying that, he hurriedly ran in front of a sniffer, probably because he was afraid that Ignat would cast a spell if he was too slow.

"My little one, you are so cute."

Newt called softly.

He slowly stretched out a hand and was about to touch Xiu Xiu's body.

Sniffing the black fur on his body seemed to have a fatal attraction for Newt.

"Mr. Newt, you have to be careful and don't underestimate this little thing. Its claws are extraordinary. I can guarantee that it will make a big hole in your butt in the next second."

Ignat reminded him promptly.

The Niffler is an animal that recognizes people, and is a little shy of strangers. It will not get close to humans like a unicorn.

After all, to some extent, Sniff's IQ may be only one-tenth that of a unicorn.

"I will be very careful, Mr. Igno. Please don't worry."

Newt turned around with a convincing smile on his face.

Then, he turned his head, his expression full of friendliness.

His slender right hand slowly stretched out towards Xiu Xiu.

Then he stopped when he was still a few centimeters away from Xiu Xiu.

Give animals a safe distance.

This boy seems to have done well in the Care of Magical Creatures class.

Ignat stood aside and observed, thinking secretly.

At this time, Newt's right hand was gradually spread out, and his fingers were gently shaking back and forth.

Looking at Newt's appearance at this time, Ignat couldn't help but want to laugh.

He was about to ask for a reminder.

What Xiu Xiu loves most is glittering things. Giving it a gold galleons is much better than shaking your finger back and forth in front of it.

But the next second, something happened that surprised Igno.

Sniff actually walked to Newt's hand on his own initiative.

And it allowed Newt to caress him freely.

This result left Igno on the side stunned.

"Newt, you are the first wizard I have ever seen who took the initiative to let Sniffer get close to him." Ignat began to praise, but he would never begrudge his praise when necessary.

Newt's face turned red again, and he was obviously a little embarrassed.

"No, Mr. Igno. It's because I have a smell that I like on my hands."

Newt explained quickly.

"I checked the information and it said that the Niffler often lives underground. Many wizards believe that it has a special ability to sense the smell of metal."

"So I smeared pig iron powder on my hands. Of course, I was just guessing at first, but I didn't expect it to actually work."

The more Newt talked, the happier he became, and he would happily rub the Sniff in his arms from time to time.

Ignat was obviously interested in Newt at this moment.

Shy, but loves magical animals.

On weekdays, most of the students who come to the library are looking for more advanced magic spells or advanced potion making methods.

There are few people like Newt who have an incomprehensible love and interest in magical animals.

Because many arrogant wizards discriminate against these magical creatures.

"Mr. Ignat, if it's okay... I mean, if it's convenient..."

"Can I take these two Sniffs out to play for a while in the future? It's not far, just inside the castle."

There was a hint of anticipation in Newt's dark brown eyes.

Greedy monster gargoyle!

These two little guys still have to work for me!

Igno didn't want to lose these two good assistants in vain.

He was going to refuse, but when he saw Newt's expectant eyes, his words changed again.

"It's okay. But you can only take one. After all, I think you should also know that there are still a lot of chores in the library. Of course I can't do it alone. I have to rely on the help of these two little guys. Looking after me."

After hearing this, Newt immediately said, "Mr. Ignat, I can help you with these things! I can definitely help them complete the work that these two Nifflers do!"

Ignat was stunned.

This should be considered hiring a young wizard student from the school, right?

Will the wise and kind-hearted Principal Dippet deduct his meager salary in good faith because of this?

"Actually..." Igno was about to politely refuse Newt's suggestion, because he really didn't want to cause any more trouble.

But when he saw Newt's sincere eyes again.

The words that came to my lips changed to, "Of course you can. As long as you are willing."

Newt grinned, and you could tell he was happy.

It didn't take long for Newt to carefully put Sniff back on the ground, and then looked at the messy books piled in the distance.

Unexpectedly, he was now thinking about taking over Sniff's job.

"You don't have to do it today." Ignat said quickly. "Arranging books is not as simple as you think, Mr. Newt."

"If you really want to volunteer to sort out the books and take over the work of Xiu Xiu. I think you can come over after class tomorrow."

"I guess I should be here all the time."

After Igno said this, he winked at Newt.

Newt nodded without any hesitation and agreed.

At night.

The lights-out whistle blew several times.

Newt was reluctant to leave and turned around to leave.

At the entrance of the library, when Newt was about to leave, he suddenly turned around and said, "Sir, I think toast would taste better with strawberry jam. And I think you should too." I prefer strawberry jam..."

After he said this, he didn't know whether it was because he was shy or something, but he ran away without looking back.

This is a really interesting little wizard.

Ignat thought to himself.

At this time, Xiu Xiu was standing on Igno's shoulder, stroking a piece of shining golden Galleons with satisfaction.
