Chapter 24 Professor Trelawney’s Weirdness
"A traveler carrying a suitcase. No, no, this must be wrong."
Roman in the giant jack-o'-lantern suddenly stiffened when he heard this voice.
He watched Sybill Trelawney jingle past her jack-o-lantern, smelling of sherry.
Since enrolling, he has almost instinctively stayed away from this professor.
As the great-great-granddaughter of the true prophet "Cassandra Trelawney," Professor Trelawney inherited far more talents than she imagined.
Although she is dubious about her talents and often uses intimidation to create a sense of drama, this does not prevent her from making a real prophecy from time to time.
In Roman's opinion, this kind of person will either tell you a lie or tell you an unchangeable fact.
And when you take action to change a prophecy, everything you do is often to make the prophecy come true.
High emotional intelligence: prophet.
Low emotional intelligence: crow’s mouth.
"Sybil. Please stop looking at the deck of cards. We still want to have a quiet meal."
Professor McGonagall had arrived beside her at some point.
But unlike Roman's impression, Professor McGonagall didn't seem to dislike Trelawney.
Her tone was quite soft, as if two old friends were greeting each other.
Trelawney followed her forward, and at some point she put another deck of cards in her hand.
Not only was she late, but she also seemed distracted throughout the dinner.
This behavior did not cause any waves, because neither the teacher nor the students paid much attention to her.
The professors were not rude to her, but they clearly showed little respect. Only Dumbledore and McGonagall occasionally toasted her.
The banquet lasted until nine o'clock, and people from the four colleges huddled together noisily and walked towards the lounge noisily.
Roman waited until the crowd had dispersed, and just as he was about to stand up and leave, a slender hand appeared on his shoulder.
"Just a moment please."
Roman turned around and found Dumbledore standing behind him with a smile.
"Dumbledore, I think... I have something to tell you..."
Professor Trelawney frowned and came behind Dumbledore, countless necklaces and jewelry hanging on her slender neck jingling. Her arms were covered with bracelets and her hands were covered with rings, but she was flexibly playing with a deck of cards between her fingers.
"Then, please come to my office." Dumbledore was a little surprised, but did not refuse.
So in the principal's office, Dumbledore, Roman and Trelawney fell into a strange embarrassment.
Trelawney didn't want to talk in front of Roman, and there was obviously no need to tell her about Roman.
Dumbledore cast his sky-blue eyes on Roman.
Roman also spoke consciously: "I'll come back to you later."
He walked to the spiral staircase outside the door and stared at the gargoyle guarding the door.
I don't know how long it took until the stone beast felt that his consciousness composed of magic seemed to be contaminated.
"How about I leave first and you stay to look after the door?"
The stone beast gave up its image and slumped lazily on the ground without raising its head.
"No, just stand by yourself."
Roman shook his head. He saw that the door to the principal's office was open.
Professor Trelawney's expression was not much better than before.
She opened her mouth when she saw Roman, but she still grabbed her shiny shawl and left.
Roman pushed open the door of the principal's office, and the faint noise in the room suddenly disappeared.
All the principals on the wall were closing their eyes and concentrating, while the principal in front of the table was placing an old boot on the table.
He didn't say much, just stood there quietly.
"I can't wait until half a year before preparing potions for you. That would be too conservative."
Dumbledore tapped his wand on his boots.
It trembled for a while, emitting a strange blue light, then gradually became still and became tattered again.Next to it, a crystal ball glows with milky white steam, which forms a sharp contrast.
"We should not only find a once-and-for-all solution, but also prepare an escape route in advance."
Dumbledore raised his head and looked at Roman quietly with his sky-blue eyes.
"The Forbidden Forest thing inspired me a lot. I think if there is a chance, you should personally participate in the selection of materials for the next time."
"And now, there's a perfect opportunity."
"With all due respect, I think you should be willing to spend a week or two looking for new material."
He smiled naturally, as if he didn't see Roman's surprised look.
"It's a pity that I can't leave school for the time being."
"But don't worry, there's an old friend of mine waiting for you at the portkey. Trust me, he's far better at dealing with magical creatures than I am."
Roman didn't know what to say for a moment, and finally he said with twitching lips:
"I'm going to pack my bags now."
"Of course, please bring everything you may need." Dumbledore winked mischievously, "Then come to my place tomorrow morning, okay?"
Roman looked at the activated door key, "I thought..."
"This is just a test." Dumbledore spread his hands, "You can't think that I would be so careless about this kind of thing, can you?"
"I'm sorry, Professor, but what is my destination?"
Roman was confused at the moment.
Dumbledore's old friend is also good at dealing with magical animals.
Did he expect Mr. Newt, who is over 90 years old, to use a cane to deal with some powerful magical beast?
First of all, the old man may not be happy, and secondly, not every wizard is named Dumbledore.
"Greece." Dumbledore sat on a comfortable chair, as if he had seen through Roman's worries, "Don't worry, you will get along well."
Roman smiled awkwardly.
A smuggler and an animal activist met Merlin.
next second.
The door to the Headmaster's office was violently pushed open, and the face of Severus Snape appeared there.
"Roman, please go back and get ready. I think Severus has something to say to me."
Dumbledore looked as calm as if Snape had been in the room just now.
Without looking at Roman, Snape walked up to Dumbledore as if he were the air in the room.
Roman felt that the atmosphere in the office was not right and quietly left.
"Why do you think Roman had an accident during flying lessons?" Snape asked coldly.
Dumbledore took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes.
"Because the part of him that represents life is weakening, and the old broomstick cannot recognize that there is a human being in it."
"Then how can you let him use the portkey alone?" Snape's expression was complicated. "He is likely to have an accident."
"But he just took the medicine." Dumbledore tried to blur the matter.
This sentence did not convince Snape. He stared directly at Dumbledore until the other party shook his head and pushed the crystal ball glowing with milky white steam in front of him.
About five minutes later, Snape's originally sallow complexion looked like he had lost blood.
"This crystal ball belongs to Cassandra Trelawney." Dumbledore sighed, "And I think we have all seen the true prophecy."
