Journey to the West: Man in heaven, working nine to five
#1958 - Guanyin is confused again
Within Buddhism, Dipankara Buddha, having once followed the Western Two Sages, possessed qualifications and strength that were no weaker than the Tathagata.
However, he was quite easygoing and never concerned himself with the affairs of Buddhism. If it weren't for this Journey to the West ordeal being closely related to Buddhism, he would likely have remained in seclusion.
Previously, he had been arranged to watch over Tang Sanzang and his disciples to prevent Maitreya Buddha from attacking them. After confirming that the latter wouldn't take action, he returned to Mount Ling and stayed there until he met Chu Hao earlier.
Now, hearing that the Journey to the West had encountered another problem, he couldn't help but be surprised: "Could it be that the Demonic Path has taken action?"
Tathagata shook his head: "Ancient Buddha, this matter is significant and related to the Prison God Chu Hao."
As he spoke, he signaled Guanyin to recount the events that had occurred in the lower realm.
After listening, Dipankara Buddha did not express displeasure or any other emotion. His expression was compassionate, and he remained silent.
After Guanyin finished speaking, he slowly said: "The Prison God Chu Hao is truly unpredictable."
This sentence was somewhat cryptic, but now was not the time to discuss these things. Tathagata directly stated his plan: "Ancient Buddha, I ask for your help this time to delay Chu Hao."
Hearing this, Dipankara Buddha raised his head and looked at the other, his eyes gleaming with specks of Buddhist light: "How does the Buddha think it best to delay him?"
"Do not let him participate in this ordeal," Tathagata said earnestly.
Dipankara Buddha did not speak to this, only performed a Buddhist salute and then withdrew from the area.
"Buddha, the Ancient Buddha?" Guanyin did not know what he meant.
"No need to worry, he has already agreed to do it," Tathagata said.
Hearing this, Guanyin felt relieved and asked again: "Buddha, what should we do next?"
Regarding this matter, Tathagata had been pondering it earlier, and now he had an answer in his mind. He said: "Since Tang Sanzang and his disciples cannot persuade the king, then let others go."
"Others? I'm afraid that will attract the attention of a certain existence," Guanyin said.
The 'certain existence' she spoke of was the creator of the Tao Te Ching, that outer sage who had transcended the Three Realms.
Even if the sages did not concern themselves with worldly affairs, they had to consider such matters since they had already reached the level of sages.
The Journey to the West, in the end, was a clash of power.
This also precisely illustrated that the sages had been silently watching everything, but were unable to appear due to the rules of the Tao Ancestor.
Hearing these words, Tathagata also knew that this matter was significant, and if it was not handled well, it could cause an unpredictable disaster.
Therefore, after thinking it over, he suddenly said: "This seat must consult the sage."
"I respectfully obey the decree."
Guanyin very tactfully left this place.
After she left, Tathagata closed his eyes, and the aura of a Quasi-Sage realm erupted.
In the next second, his whole body emitted endless golden light, vast and enveloping his entire body. At this time, a mysterious light curtain emerged within him.
The light curtain涌出 from his dantian, then rushed out of his body, sweeping across the entire room.
Boom—
In an instant, the void trembled, and the entire room seemed to be in a special space filled with golden light, permeated with a sacred aura.
At the same time, enchanting Buddhist sounds emerged, filling it.
Tathagata waved his hands, forming Buddhist seals, and each Buddhist seal falling into that space would stir up a passionate aura.
The majestic aura was like a wave, rolling in and constantly impacting the surrounding space, as if to open a sealed barrier.
Tathagata's face revealed a pious expression, and in the room, a heavy Buddhist sound rang out.
Around him, golden lotuses appeared, scriptures wandered, and a golden river ran through the void, showing an incomparably vast scene.
In that special space, Tathagata's consciousness slowly awakened.
At the moment he woke up, the space changed abruptly, and the endless golden light continued to compress, eventually forming a point, and this point was the key to communicating the sage's will.
When Tathagata's consciousness returned, that point appeared in front of him.
Tathagata's consciousness sank into it.
… …
Outside, Guanyin looked at the beautiful scenery of Mount Ling, but there was no comfort on her face.
This tribulation was more dangerous than before, especially the forces involved behind it, which were more powerful than before, and could not be treated casually.
She listened to the Buddhist sounds coming from the mountain, her beautiful eyes flickered, and she looked into the depths of the void.
At this moment, Guanyin couldn't help but recall the words Chu Hao had said.
Practice is the only criterion for testing truth, as well as his theory of sin proposed to the king of the Extinguishing Dharma Kingdom.
All of this caused the Bodhisattva Guanshiyin to have a trace of confusion.
This confusion plunged him into a deep doubt, causing her to think involuntarily about whether her Buddhism was right and whether she had truly understood the true scriptures.
In the past, she was extremely confident in herself, but she suddenly felt that she might not be right.
Seeing flowers as flowers and seeing water as water.
How easy is it to achieve this pure and simple understanding?
Just then, Dipankara Buddha in the void was about to leave Mount Ling.
Perhaps feeling something, he looked over.
"Venerable Guanyin, you are confused."
The voice of Dipankara Buddha came to Guanyin's ears.
As the first head of the Western Heaven Buddhist Sect, Dipankara Buddha's strength was unfathomable, and his research on Buddhism was also quite profound, completely not on the same level as other Buddhas in Mount Ling.
With just one glance, he saw Guanyin's diffusion.
Guanyin bowed to him: "Please, Ancient Buddha, enlighten me."
"Your confusion stems from the aura of tribulation. If you want to solve it, you have to rely on yourself," Dipankara Buddha's voice came leisurely, and then he left Mount Ling.
Guanyin shook her head slightly. This kind of influence is not a matter of days, but is slowly formed under long-term witnessing.
And the culprit of all this is Chu Hao.
Although Chu Hao blocked the Western Heavens every time, some of the truths he sometimes put forward often produced some other thoughts in Guanyin's ears.
It was because of these thoughts that she became confused.
"Venerable Guanyin, come in."
Just then, Tathagata's voice came out.
Guanyin walked into the residence, which was the same as before, without any change.
Tathagata sat there, as if he already had an answer in his mind.
He looked at Guanyin: "Who do you think should be sent?"
Guanyin said: "Buddha, I want to go."
The reason why she wanted to go was precisely because of the confusion in her heart. She wanted to go to the lower realm to experience it personally before making a decision.
