I'm a Master in India
Chapter 30 Doctor
When Ron entered the train station hall, his company's reception area was already surrounded by a crowd. Vinod was confronting a bald man.
Behind them stood two groups of people, pointing at each other excitedly, muttering various nasty curses.
Such a scene attracted many onlookers, even including several foreigners.
Ron quickly scanned the surroundings and didn't see Rajesh and the others. There didn't seem to be any patrol officers on duty in this area today.
Perhaps the other party had deliberately chosen this time. Ron pulled Vijay aside and whispered a few words in his ear, and the latter immediately ran out of the train station.
To prevent a fight from breaking out, Ron quickly stepped forward.
His arrival quieted the scene. Just by looking at his demeanor and clothing, one could tell he was in charge.
The bald man also stopped his incessant chatter, glaring fiercely with wide eyes.
"Ron, this guy is called Iqbal. He used to be involved in gangs and now he leads a few people who often cheat and swindle around here. He's a tough character," Vinod whispered, introducing the other party's background.
The name sounded like an old Muslim. They didn't care about the Brahmin caste; they were more like mortal enemies.
"Are those people behind him all together?" Ron roughly estimated, noticing a little over a dozen people gathered around him.
"No, only the ones in front really listen to him. The others have been misled. Iqbal must have said a lot of bad things about us."
Ron vaguely understood. "So the rest of them are our competitors, right?"
Vinod gave him a confirming look. Their reception area here was taking away a lot of people's business.
"Hey, are you their boss?" Iqbal impatiently interrupted their whispering.
"I am the person in charge of this company."
"What?" The group on the opposite side looked blank.
Ron spoke in English, which they didn't understand, but it piqued the interest of the foreign onlookers.
"I'll repeat, I am the person in charge of this company. Why are you gathered here?" This time, Ron spoke in Marathi.
"You injured my man!" Iqbal aggressively pulled forward a thin man.
The man had dark skin and seemed to have a hint of panic in his eyes. When Iqbal grabbed his collar, he instinctively flinched backward.
Unfortunately, Iqbal easily lifted the reed-like man with one hand.
"Speak! Did they hurt you?"
The small man fearfully nodded, and then, under Iqbal's instruction, turned around to reveal a scratch on his back.
Ron looked at Vinod beside him, who immediately cried out aggrievedly, "I only pushed him lightly. That kind of force couldn't possibly cause an injury."
"It was you! Everyone saw it!"
"That's right, we all saw it!" The people behind Iqbal chimed in.
"What exactly happened?" Ron hadn't heard Vijay mention this just now.
"That guy wanted to snatch the 'menu' from our table. Ron, you said it was our secret and we couldn't let these people take it away."
The two sides started arguing again. Ron now roughly understood what was going on.
The brochure he had created was probably regarded by Iqbal and his gang as a secret to attracting customers.
So he deliberately brought people to make trouble, and took advantage of the chaos to instigate the small man to snatch the things on the table, resulting in him getting injured somehow.
Ron looked around. There were no reliable witnesses. The train station staff were just watching the show from behind the crowd. Forget it, he couldn't count on them.
Ron withdrew his gaze and raised his right hand to attract everyone's attention. "Quiet!"
The noisy crowd gradually subsided like weakening ripples, slowly calming down.
"What's your name?" Ron walked towards the skinny man who had been pushed to the middle as a witness.
"What do you want?" Iqbal reached out to stop him.
"I am a doctor!" Ron glared fiercely at him, then turned to look at Vinod, "Bring my first aid kit."
Iqbal stared blankly, his mind a bit confused. How did a doctor suddenly appear?
Especially when Ron skillfully took out the first aid tools from the kit, he was even more unsure.
The surrounding crowd also didn't speak, White-skinned Ron, wearing a red sacred thread on his hand, looked like a Brahmin doctor no matter how you looked at it.
"My name is Raja Kannu," the small man weakly replied. He also believed it.
Ron's glare just now made Raja Kannu feel genuinely afraid. He had experienced the majesty of Brahmin lords many times, and he instinctively answered honestly, not daring to lie.
"I am Ron. Sure, don't be nervous. I'll treat your wound first," Ron said in a softer tone.
Since he had helped Johnny with an emergency suture last time, Ron had also prepared a first aid kit at the train station. This place was a mixed bag, so it wouldn't hurt to be prepared.
See, it came in handy today. After getting the first aid kit, Ron skillfully checked the contents: iodine, gauze, tweezers, paper tape…
The surrounding crowd focused all their attention on Ron. Their eyes were wide, as if they had seen something incredible.
Ron put on gloves as if no one else was there and asked gently, "Can I see your wound?"
"Of course, Mr. Sure," Raja Kannu stammered.
Ron had him turn around and then carefully examined his wound. It was an abrasion, but not deep. The surrounding bloodstains were mostly caused by ruptured capillaries.
While skillfully cleaning and disinfecting the wound, Ron even had time to chat with him.
"How did you get hurt?"
"I bumped into the pillar behind me."
Ron glanced at it. The pillar was several meters away from his reception area. A normal shove wouldn't cause someone to stagger that far.
"Do you take odd jobs at the train station usually?"
"Yes, I run errands for people, deliver messages. I'm very fast."
Perhaps it was Ron's meticulous technique that made him lower his guard. Raja Kannu was no longer as nervous as he had been just now.
"How much money can you earn in a month?"
"Um, about two hundred rupees."
"Your injury wasn't caused by Vinod, was it? He couldn't have pushed you that far," Ron lowered his voice near his ear.
Raja Kannu's back muscles tensed, and he looked fearfully at Iqbal not far away, full of dread.
Ron smiled and said nothing. He still applied topical medicine for him and carefully bandaged it with gauze.
"Doctor, he really is a doctor…" A murmur came from the surroundings.
After securing the gauze with paper tape, Ron patted him on the shoulder.
"Does it hurt?"
"It doesn't hurt, doctor."
"Don't get the wound wet when you go back. I'll give you some more medicine. Apply it once a day, and it'll be fine in three days."
At the moment of getting up, Ron whispered, "Come work for me. A guaranteed 500 rupees per month, and there are commissions for doing more, just like Vinod and the others."
He said this very softly, only Raja Kannu, who was half a step away, could hear it.
Ron put away the first aid kit, and the eyes of the people gathered here were still fixed on him. The expressions were very complex, with gratitude, shock, and a kind of elation…
Ron couldn't understand why their emotions as spectators seemed even more intense than Raja Kannu's?
They didn't applaud, but even the foreign onlookers could feel the sense of recognition.
A Brahmin doctor willing to treat them? The shock of this was unimaginable to outsiders.
Seeing that the atmosphere was not right, Iqbal immediately wanted to step forward.
Suddenly, the skinny Raja Kannu stood up awkwardly.
"It was Iqbal, I was thrown onto the pillar by Iqbal."
His voice was not loud, but it attracted everyone's attention.
"Bastard! What are you saying?" Iqbal wanted to rush over.
The crowd erupted.
