I'm a Master in India
Chapter 218 Dr. Soul Can't Always Be a Good Person
After receiving Mary's call, Ron rushed to Bandra immediately.
A whole month had passed, and he had tried almost every method but found no clues.
He was surprised to hear from Mary, but now was not the time to dwell on it; Anand was the key.
"Where is he?" Ron asked impatiently as soon as he entered the apartment.
"I don't know." Mary shrugged.
"What?" Ron raised his voice.
"Hey, don't get worked up, take a look at these photos first." Lena soothed him.
"Oh, sorry, I'm a bit anxious." Ron went straight to the table in the living room.
There were many photos scattered on it, mostly about The Palace. The shooting angle was likely the second floor of the building across the street, providing a very clear view.
There were photos of The Palace's architecture, both day and night. More were of people entering and leaving The Palace, among which one face was particularly striking.
It was a man, tall and thin. He had a long, dark brown braid behind his head that reached his buttocks.
His face was pale and beardless, he didn't even have eyebrows, and the spiral tattoo on his chin seemed to draw in the gaze of anyone who looked at it.
Abu! The eunuch from The Palace.
"What does this mean?" Ron didn't quite understand.
"Take a look at this photo," Mary pulled out one separately.
The picture still showed Abu, but the background was not The Palace, but somewhere on the street.
Ron glanced at it twice and found nothing unusual, until his gaze accidentally swept across the edge of the photo.
There was a figure from behind, not tall, short and stocky. He was turning his round, chubby face to the side, revealing that signature smile.
Anand! Ron's mind suddenly exploded.
"Where is this, and how did you get this photo?" he asked eagerly.
"Near Haines Road, you know, we've been keeping an eye on this eunuch. We didn't notice it when sorting through the photos before, but today we discovered something unusual."
Ron remembered, before the last trip to Uttar Pradesh, Mary and the others mentioned that this Abu had been frequently entering and leaving The Palace recently.
They had unresolved grievances with Elizabeth, and were constantly monitoring the situation there. Abu, as Elizabeth's confidant, was also a key tracking target.
"Look at his eyes," Mary said, pointing to the photo, "absolutely malicious."
It was a look of hatred, a look of disgust, a cold look, a look like a poisonous snake.
"Why does this lunatic have such intense hatred for Anand?" Ron frowned.
"Perhaps he doesn't hate Anand," Mary reminded softly.
"You mean... me?" A flash of insight struck Ron.
That's right, he remembered. When he helped Hella rescue someone in The Palace that time, Abu had shown that resentful look.
Later, when Ron and Anand were eating on the street, he saw him again in the crowd, with the exact same look.
At that time, Anil had even led people to track him, but returned empty-handed.
He understood now, perhaps Abu decided to target Anand after seeing the close relationship between Anand and Ron.
Ron always had bodyguards around him, so ordinary people had no chance at all. Abu probably found it difficult too, and finally chose Anand.
Ron just didn't understand why Abu would have such intense hatred for him.
Just because he and Hella conspired to deceive his Master? Just because he said harsh things before leaving The Palace?
Damn it, throughout history, dead eunuchs are indeed perverts, lunatics, and paranoids.
"I think I need to go to The Palace," Ron stood up.
"You'd better not just walk into it," Mary stopped him, "Maybe they're waiting for you."
"What do you mean?"
"If they captured Anand just to vent their anger, that would be fine, but what if they didn't? Going like this is walking right into a trap."
Ron's steps paused; he remembered Ajay's warning.
"Besides, what evidence do you have that they captured Anand? This photo doesn't prove anything."
This was another problem; gangs also needed a legitimate reason to act.
If he went there making a fuss, not to mention whether he could get the person back, he might even be humiliated.
Ron had calmed down; this matter was more complicated than he thought.
Mumbai was ultimately not Uttar Pradesh; problems couldn't be solved by just shooting things up.
This was India's commercial center; it had its own operating rules and system, and most importantly, it represented modern civilization.
He was a businessman, not a thug.
"Ladies, perhaps I should leave." Ron already knew who he needed to find.
"Don't be impulsive. The Palace is not as simple as you think. Lena and I have to be very careful," Mary advised him.
"Don't worry, I dislike violence the most. I'll find a suitable intermediary."
"Who?" Mary was worried; she knew Ron cared deeply about Anand.
"Hader Khan."
"That underground black emperor?"
"Exactly. Remember when I bought the land? He was the one who helped me handle Elizabeth."
This was the most suitable person Ron could think of. Hader Khan's status was high enough, and he was an acquaintance of both parties; they had dealt with each other this way before.
"Alright, be careful yourself." Mary no longer stopped him.
"Before I'm certain, I won't act rashly." Ron took the photo.
Sitting in the car, he looked at the face in the photo, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
Ron certainly disliked violence, but if the other party crossed the line first, then they shouldn't blame him for not playing fair.
"Master," Anil, sitting in the front, suddenly spoke, "Something's not right."
"Hmm?" Ron looked up.
"That person." Anil gestured towards the window with his eyes.
At the entrance of a coffee shop by the roadside, a small mustached man was staring directly at their car.
He was short and thin, and unremarkable in appearance. But his eyes were very special, dark and deep, gleaming with shrewdness.
"Anil?" Ron asked softly.
"Assassin!"
Ron's breath hitched, and his body tensed up.
Anil reached down and pressed, signaling Ron to duck down, while he himself pulled out a pistol from his waist.
With his other hand, he picked up the walkie-talkie and said a few words.
The taxi following Ron suddenly sped towards the coffee shop, causing nearby pedestrians to scream in panic.
The small mustached man had already jumped away alertly; he glared fiercely in this direction, then quickly disappeared into the crowd.
Two or three people got out of the taxi and chased after him, while Ron's car continued driving forward.
Only after passing three intersections did Anil slightly lower his guard.
"What's going on?" Ron was still confused.
"That guy was pretending to be someone drinking coffee, but he didn't look like it at all; he was a poor person."
"Can you tell which gang he belongs to?"
Most assassins in Mumbai are affiliated with gangs, without exception.
"I don't know, but the other party is a herdsman," Anil said with certainty.
"How can you tell?"
"He has a prayer mark on his forehead."
This is a common characteristic among many herdsmen; the more devout they are, the more prominent the prayer mark.
Herdsmen? Which gang in Mumbai has the most herdsmen? Ron already had a guess.
Things were getting more and more complicated. First The Palace, now the gang; they were all setting their sights on him.
Why? Ron couldn't quite figure it out.
He considered himself to have little involvement with gangs and no complex interests; it didn't make sense.
At this moment, a response came from Anil's walkie-talkie; the people who had just chased the assassin said they lost him.
The other party was not acting alone; at least four people were providing cover for him.
Clearly, this was a premeditated act, not a whim of some lunatic.
Ron frowned tightly. He patted the driver's seat in the front, signaling to go back first.
After today's encounter, he became more cautious.
Mary was right; no matter how anxious he was about The Palace, he couldn't put himself in danger.
He needed to make a call to Hader Khan; today's events were definitely not over.
Everyone praised, "Dr. Sur is a good man."
Yes, that's right, he was a doctor.
He could save people, and he could kill people; it all depended on a single thought.
Returning to the Fort District, before Ron even got out of the car, he saw a uniformed policeman pacing anxiously in front of his house.
"Rajesh?" He finally recognized the person in front of him.
"Mr. Sur!" Rajesh ran over, "Quick! Save Anand!"
"Anand?!" Ron was startled.
"Yes, he's in prison, and his situation is very bad!"
"Wait!" Ron's thoughts were a bit chaotic, "You mean he's in prison?"
"Yes, Arthur Road Jail!"
"Why is he in prison? Isn't he at The Palace?"
"At Arthur Road Jail, he has been severely tortured. I was just transferred there and only found him today."
"Come inside and tell me everything you know!"
He had just returned from Mary's place and had originally concluded that the culprit behind Anand's disappearance was Abu from The Palace.
Perhaps Anand was being held somewhere by the other party right now, but Rajesh's arrival shattered these conjectures.
Rajesh told Ron that he had just been transferred to Arthur Road Jail as a prison guard in early February.
As for the reason... cough, that wasn't the main point.
In short, after falling out with his wife, he lost his lucrative patrol officer job.
How could a policeman not make money? A prison guard was also a policeman.
Rajesh used to interact with Anand frequently, and influenced by him, he simply moved his medicine selling business to the prison.
Where there is demand, there is a market.
His business was good, and he became well-known in Arthur Road Jail within just a few days.
Then came the previous events; Rajesh himself never expected Anand to be in prison.
Rajesh had heard about his disappearance but didn't pay much attention because his wife was going through a divorce with him at the time.
"He's in a terrible state! You don't know, I almost didn't recognize him. His arm was broken by someone, and those people were afraid of causing a death, so they came to find me."
"Rajesh, you've been a great help."
"Sur Bai, look at you saying that. Anand is also my friend, I can't just stand by and do nothing."
"You go back now and help keep an eye on him, I'll handle the rest. After this is over, tell me which police unit you want to go to."
"Oh, Sur Bai, you are too loyal and righteous!"
Rajesh left cheerfully, but Ron's eyes became increasingly cold.
Gangs, assassins, The Palace, prison, Anand - his rage was burning intensely.
Dr. Sur couldn't always be a good man!
He picked up the landline on the table and dialed a number.
"Ajay, do me a favor."
