He couldn't imagine Dudley calling him 'brother'.

He might go crazy.

But Darren was different. That soft, gentle voice calling him 'brother' almost made him jump for joy.

"Darren, where did you live when you were little? Were you in the magical world?"

Harry asked curiously.

The house-elf who came to find him had only asked about his experiences, not told him about Darren's.

When Dumbledore went to see Aunt Petunia, he didn't mention Darren's experiences either.

However, looking at Darren's elegant demeanor, he really hadn't considered the possibility of him growing up in the Muggle world.

"I grew up in an orphanage. Professor Dumbledore and Professor Snape found me in late August this year."

Darren patted his red hair.

After his pressing, that tuft of cowlick stubbornly stuck up again.

Harry looked at it with envy.

He wished he could have Darren's hair.

At least only one strand stuck up, while his hair stuck up everywhere.

"That's so cool! My dream since I was little was to live in an orphanage. Is it a nice place? Can I come back with you during the holidays?"

Harry asked admiringly.

Darren noticed that many eyes were secretly watching him at this moment.

Clearly, being around Harry meant that every move was noticed.

And a large part of these people were worried that he would get angry because of Harry's words.

After all, the Hogwarts professors had already learned from Patchy what kind of life Darren had lived in the orphanage.

They were overthinking it.

Of course, Darren wouldn't get angry.

Such a good platform to show off; he couldn't wait to stay in everyone's eyes and be a selfless saint.

Could getting angry be more important than Saintly Points?

Not even a hair was worth as much.

So, he tilted his head and thought for a moment, saying:

"Probably not. When Professor Dumbledore took me out, he paid Mrs. Linda a large sum of money.

If we go back again, Professor Dumbledore might have to hand over all the money in our vault next time before Mrs. Linda lets us out."

His tone was calm, without the slightest hint of gloom.

He even made a joke to Harry.

Many professors who were worried that he would get angry turned their faces away in shame.

[Ding, Saintly Points +80]

[Ding, Saintly Points +70]

[Ding...]

Another wave of Saintly Points was in hand.

Darren felt that this wave was worth it.

Just being with Harry at noon earned him three thousand Saintly Points.

He originally wanted to farm more Saintly Points.

But then the owls arrived.

A hundred or so owls flew into the Hogwarts Great Hall.

At first, Darren had only seen this scene in novels and didn't feel anything.

But after seeing it a few times here, his only feeling was shock.

It was too spectacular.

But it was also a bit of a pity.

Because his Carole had never brought him anything.

Even though Carole was a phoenix... no, a featherless turkey.

Currently, Patchy was taking care of it.

Patchy seemed to say that she had taken Carole to the old manor.

It was said that the first lady of the Potter family would train it before releasing it.

Just as Darren was thinking, he saw an owl flying straight towards him.

He was startled, but he immediately realized that the owl was aiming for Harry next to him.

It flew to Harry's side, dropped a note, and then affectionately pecked Harry's ear before flapping its wings and flying towards the jam.

"Hedwig likes to eat that."

Harry said embarrassedly.

After saying that, he remembered that Darren didn't seem to have a pet, so he thought about it and asked:

"Darren, what kind of pet do you like?"

Chapter 56: Potions Class

Although Harry felt that he and Darren had seven years of school ahead of them, and they had to save the remaining money in the vault.

But they weren't so poor that they couldn't afford to buy a pet.

Even though Hagrid had paid for his Hedwig.

"Me? I don't like keeping pets."

Darren shook his head. He still had one idea.

It was enough to have one pet at home that only ate and did nothing.

"Don't like it?"

Harry shook his head. How could that be?

Darren was such a gentle person; he would definitely like pets very much.

Thinking of the news he heard from Slytherin after the fact.

Darren seemed to like Professor McGonagall's tabby cat very much.

It was said that he even fought with Malfoy because of it.

Maybe he should buy Darren a cat?

Hedwig could be used to send letters to Darren, but he might need a pet cat to accompany him more.

That way, he wouldn't be alone in Slytherin.

Harry sighed.

He didn't understand why the Sorting Hat would make such a decision.

It had to put him and Darren into Slytherin.

He was lucky enough to avoid it, but Darren didn't.

He sighed and opened the note.

It was a bunch of scribbled words.

Dear Harry:

I know you don't have class on Friday afternoon. I was wondering if you could come over around three o'clock.

I really want to know how your first week is going. Oh, and bring Darren. I only noticed that poor kid when school started.

Hagrid.

Harry exclaimed excitedly and handed the note to Darren.

After reading it, Darren nodded obediently.

"I would be happy to go."

"That's great!"

Harry borrowed paper and pen from Ron and wrote on the back of the note: Darren and I would be happy to. See you in the afternoon.

Then he urged Hedwig to quickly take these words to Hagrid.
