“What’s wrong? Nian Xi’s fiancé doesn’t want to change his job?”

Luo Sang crept out from under the blanket when she heard Nian Junting’s voice change.

He turned to look at her, his mood ruined. “Luo Sang, would you marry to a military man and live that kind of life? Jichuan is no ordinary soldier. He frequently has to go downrange for missions. He even has to travel to dangerous places and countries for his mission sometimes.”

“Well, he deserves our respect for wanting to serve our country and protect our sovereign. There are many military wives out there who are proud of what their husbands do.” Luo Sang frowned and continued, “I guess I can’t live that kind of life myself. I can’t stand not having my husband at home and carrying on a long-distance relationship. Nian Xi is different from me, no doubt. She is a police officer. She has the same vision to serve the country.”

“Nian Xi isn’t all that passionate about being in the police force.” Nian Junting laid down beside her. “She’s liked Jichuan since she was a kid, always following him around. Both of his parents are high-ranking military officials, and his grandpa was my grandfather’s comrade. Our families have always been close, and they were kind of like childhood sweethearts. Nian Xi signed up with the police academy and trained to be an officer for Jichuan’s sake. She had hoped and thought that Jichuan would eventually change his profession and enter the police force. I didn’t approve of this relationship at first. It’s too tough being a soldier’s wife…”

He suddenly realized that the woman beside him was strangely quiet. He turned to look at her, and she was smiling at him silently. “What are you looking at?”

“Junting, you’ve always acted as if you didn’t care about Nian Xi, your sister. You actually care for her deeply, don’t you?” Luo Sang tickled his foot with her toes.

“No kidding. I’m the only one who can bully my sister. No one else is allowed to hurt her in any way. Same goes for you.” Nian Junting scooped her into his arms and said, “Jichuan is getting Nian Xi a present for Christmas. What are you getting me?”

Luo Sang frowned. “I should be the one asking you that question.”

“I’ll get you something for sure, but I’m worried that I won’t receive anything in return if I don’t remind you now,” Nian Junting said pitifully.

“I’m not giving it away.” Luo Sang yawned and nestled her head on his chest. “Let’s go to bed. I’m so sleepy.”

“Oh right, let’s go on a vacation once you start your holidays. We’ll have to go after the lunar new year, since Jichuan is coming back then,” Nian Junting said.

“Alright, anything you say.”

At eight in the morning, Luo Sang waited at the school gates for five minutes before Yan Su appeared with her textbooks in her arms.

“What’s up? You look radiant. You must have had a good time at Mr. Nian’s place last night,” Yan Su teased her chirpily.

Luo Sang thought about what happened last night, and she felt a deep ache in her nether area.

“You haven’t heard the news, have you?” Yan Su smiled. “Some photos of Shui Chang leaked online this morning. They were all indecent photos of her and many different men.”

Luo Sang was shocked as Yan Su continued, “She acts like such a revered goddess normally, but she goes on dates with older men quite often. I heard that they are all involved in the entertainment industry. She’s probably doing it to get famous quick. Now, she’s ruined.”

Luo Sang quickly opened the campus forum, and pictures of Shui Chang cuddling with older men flooded the website. There were photos of her sitting on their laps and kissing them. It looked awful on her.
