An Lan was embarrassed, her face flushed red.

She had just met a lecher, but she had never met a lecher like him.

She raised her eyes and glared at him. "What do you think?"

"… I think the answer is no," Xu Baohan realized his rudeness and answered honestly.

"Since you knew the answer is no, why did you ask?" An Lan didn't know whether to laugh or cry. She had never met such a person before, but she wasn't angry. She was just embarrassed and a little flustered.

Just then, her phone rang. Cao Meng called her, saying that her bag and coat were still at the KTV. She asked An Lan if she'd go back to pick them up or had them delivered to her.

"I'll pick them up." An Lan didn't want to trouble her.

After hanging up, she looked up to bid Xu Baohan farewell, but he said, "Let's go. I'll accompany you to the KTV to pick up your things."

An Lan declined, "There's no need. It's almost 1 am and you'd better go home. You still have work tomorrow. I can go by myself. I'll go home after I get my things."

Xu Baohan's expression was solemn. "I don't want to see any news about a famous lawyer being attacked or dragged into the bushes tomorrow morning."

An Lan was speechless. She couldn't take it anymore. "As a judicial officer, you keep saying these things. It shows that you subconsciously think that this society is not safe at all."

"No." Xu Baohan shook his head decisively. "It's not safe for a beautiful woman like you to be out during the night."

"Can't you say something nice?" An Lan placed one hand on her hip.

Xu Baohan thought for a moment and said, "I also left something at the KTV."

"What is it?"

An Lan, "… I'm right here."

"You'll be there in a while."

"What does it have to do with you?" An Lan tried her best to refute.

"… I'm just worried," Xu Baohan had to admit in the end.

It was eerily quiet.

In the end, the awkward silence was broken by a taxi that stopped in front of them. The driver shouted, "Where are you going? Do you want to take a taxi?"

"Get in." Xu Baohan immediately opened the back seat door, and An Lan pulled open the front passenger door.

He paused and asked, "Aren't you going to sit in the back?"

"It's not very safe out in the night. If something happens to me in the front, you can break the window and escape from the back." An LAN smiled as she got into the car.

Xu Baohan was stunned for a few seconds and then smiled. He got into the car and replied, "I'm here and he wouldn't dare to do anything to you."

The innocent driver was completely baffled and couldn't take it anymore. "Beauty, handsome, do I look like a bad guy? It's not very nice of you to say that about me. I'm a good taxi driver."

"I was just kidding," An Lan said with a smile. "You make me feel safer than the person behind us."
