From Sidekick to Bigshot

Jian Yujie’s mouth was open for a long time before it finally closed.

Then, he asked Jian Yiling who was seated opposite him: “Yiling, are you not surprised?”

“I’m surprised,” Jian Yiling replied. However, her face remained calm.

Jian Yiling liked Sister En. She was happy for Sister En to become her sister-in-law.

At this moment, Jian Yiling’s phone rang. It was a call from Jian Yichen.

Once Jian Yiling answered the call, she heard Jian Yichen’s distressed voice.

“Yiling… Save me~~~”

“Where are you?”

Her soft voice sounded quite anxious.

“I’m at home.”

“Who’s hurting you?”

“Who else? It’s my brother! If you don’t come, I’m going to be killed by him!”

Jian Yichen’s brother was Jian Yiheng.

Jian Yiheng didn’t attend Jian Yiling’s engagement party because he was escorting battlefield journalists through war zones. As a result, he was unable to return in time.

However, Jian Yiling did not expect Jian Yiheng to beat up his brother immediately after he returned to Beijing.

It seemed as though Jian Yichen’s resistance to beatings came from his brother.

When they heard Jian Yiheng returned to Beijing, Jian Yumin and Jian Yujie’s expressions stiffened.

“Yiling, I feel like you should just leave it be. Jian Yiheng will still be merciful to his brother. We shouldn’t get involved.”

“Yeah, it’s way too dangerous. Jian Yiheng can kick down a wall of people. If we’re kicked by him, we’re probably going to lie in the hospital for around six months.”

Jian Yumin and Jian Yujie’s opinion on this matter was incredibly similar. They were planning to cherish their lives and stay far away from Jian Yiheng.

Furthermore, Jian Yiheng was the only brother in the Jian family that wasn’t affected by Jian Yiling.

Perhaps it was due to Nie Yun’s nagging, however, Jian Yiheng never had much patience for girls.

In his heart, girls were too delicate. Furthermore, they were unpredictable and too difficult to understand.

As he was unable to understand girls, he always maintained his distance with them.

Of course, this included Jian Yiling.

In fact, in Jian Yiheng’s mind, Jian Yiling was especially delicate.

He felt as though if he squeezed her too hard, she would pass out.

As Jian Yiling wasn’t too sure of the situation, she decided to go over to Jian Yichen.

However, Jian Yumin did not want to go. But as Yiling wanted to go, he could only sacrifice his life and health to accompany his sister.

Therefore, Jian Yumin, Jian Yiling and Jian Yujie rushed to Jian Yichen’s home.

Sure enough, by the time they arrived, Jian Yichen had already been beaten up.
