From Sidekick to Bigshot

At night, Wen Zhe ran into Jian Yiling and Zhai Yunsheng’s study. He had a little pillow in his arms.

“Sister Yiling, future brother-in-law, it’s already really late. Why are you guys still working?”

Wen Zhe glanced at Jian Yiling’s computer and noticed a pile of complex symbols on the screen.

“Sister, my mother told me that you must sleep before ten o’clock. If you don’t sleep before then, you will become dumb. It’s almost ten o’clock. You should go and sleep! My mother’s words are definitely right. Just look at me! I’m very smart. Sufficient sleep plays a part in my intelligence! It enhances one’s memory.”

Wen Zhe was here to urge Jian Yiling to go to sleep.

“It’s alright,” Jian Yiling replied. She was used to sleeping late and waking up early.

“No no… It’s not alright. You should sleep early,” Wen Zhe pouted as he gently shook Jian Yiling’s arm.

JIan Yiling hadn’t encountered this situation before.

It was the first time someone was pouting to her.

Wen Zhe’s cheeks were puffy and he seemed slightly upset.

In fact, it seemed as though if Jian Yiling did not agree to sleep early, he would cry out on the spot.

Wen Zhe was a very good-looking child. He had red lips and pearly white teeth. When anyone looked into his big eyes, they felt bad for rejecting him.

Wen Zhe continued to pout: “Sister, I will help you sleep! I will tell you some bedtime stories. I know heaps of bedtime stories. In the fast, my mother told me those stories. I can even recite them now!”

Jian Yiling looked into Wen Zhe’s eyes. She didn’t want to say no.

Jian Yiling thought over this for a moment. Then, she decided to leave Zhai Yunsheng behind and followed Wen Zhe out of the study room.

“Sister, let’s go to your room. I will tell you bedtime stories.”

“No need,” Jian Yiling replied softly.

She wasn’t very good at dealing with children. As a result, she was worried that her words might hurt him.

“Why not? If I fall asleep first, you would definitely get up to do work again. Therefore, I want to watch you fall asleep first!”

The little boy was very insistent.

“But I want to wait for A Sheng.”

“Why do you want to wait for my future brother-in-law?”

“I want to have a baby with him,” Jian Yiling replied.

“Huh?” Wen Zhe said. He was a little surprised by Jian Yiling’s answer. “Although I want to have a niece, you’re still very young. You can wait for another two years. We’re not in a hurry.”

“But I want a baby right now.”

“But… My mother told me that it’s really painful to give birth to babies… She told me that she almost gave up when she was giving birth to me.”

“I’m not afraid of pain,” Jian Yiling replied confidently.

“But… My mother also said that if a woman is willing to have a baby with a man, it means that she loves him very much. She must love him a lot to be willing to suffer for him.”

“Is that so?” Jian Yiling responded. She wasn’t sure about this. Did she want to have a baby with Zhai Yunsheng because she ‘loved’ him?

“Sister, you like my future brother-in-law right?” Wen Zhe asked with a frown.

“I think so.”

“Do you really want to have a baby with my future brother-in-law? You guys aren’t married yet.”

“That doesn’t matter,” Jian Yiling replied. She didn’t care about marriages and weddings. She cared about life more.

Jian Yiling’s response made Wen Zhe fret a bit.

Previously, he listed Zhai Yunsheng in Category 1. Those that his sister could talk to but not get close to. He didn’t want Zhai Yunsheng to get too close to his sister.

However, it seemed as though his sister wanted to sleep with his future brother-in-law.

If he tried to stop her, his sister would not be happy.

If he made his sister unhappy, he was causing her more trouble.

After thinking about this for a while, Wen Zhe announced:

“Okay! Let me help you then!”
