They continued forward, filled with hope and determination, yet remaining constantly vigilant. The road ahead was long, and much more remained unknown.
“I think we should find a high place so we can better observe our surroundings,” Kevin suggested.
“That’s right,” Su Ting nodded in agreement. “A higher vantage point offers a wider view, which helps us detect potential threats in advance.”
So they searched for a suitable place to camp in the dense forest. Before long, they found a small hill with sparse trees and excellent visibility. After confirming there was no danger, the group decided to settle there temporarily.
Leah and Lena gathered branches and fallen leaves to build a makeshift camp. Aiden continued to keep watch, preventing the enemy from reappearing. Suting approached Annie and gently asked, "Do you remember the exact location where your family went missing?"
Chapter 930 Specific Route
Anne nodded, wiping away her tears. "I remember it clearly, it was by a lake not far ahead. There was a small village there, and my family and I were resting there... but then those people suddenly appeared..."
“Don’t be afraid,” Su Ting reassured her. “We will find them. You just need to tell us the specific route.”
Lena and Lia had already set up a makeshift shelter. Su Ting had everyone sit together and began discussing the next steps. "We now have two options: either head directly to that small village to look for clues, or first investigate the area for any other suspicious activity."
“I think we can go and scout ahead first,” Kevin said. “If there are any other ambushes, we can find them sooner.”
“Yes, that’s a good suggestion,” Lena agreed. “Let’s split up and find out the situation as soon as possible.”
“Alright then, Aiden and I will be in one group, and the three of you will split into two groups,” Su Ting assigned the tasks. “We’ll meet back here in an hour.”
After being divided into groups, everyone set off. Su Ting and Aiden walked along the lakeside, carefully observing their surroundings. Just then, a strange sound came from afar, like people arguing.
"Did you hear that?" Su Ting said in a low voice.
“I heard that, let’s go check it out.” Aiden gripped his weapon tightly and cautiously followed Su Ting as they quietly approached the source of the sound.
They hid in the woods, and saw a group of people arguing fiercely in the distance. One of them, dressed in a black robe, seemed particularly angry: "You bunch of idiots! How could you let her escape? What if our plan is ruined?"
Another masked man explained, "She's just a child; we didn't expect her to fool those people."
"No matter what, we must act immediately and not let them succeed," the man in black ordered. "Send more people to search and find their whereabouts."
Suting and Aiden exchanged a glance, then quickly left and headed towards the rendezvous point. Soon after, everyone returned to the camp.
"We've spotted several masked men here and are searching for clues," Kevin reported first.
“We also encountered some problems, but they have been resolved,” Lena added.
“We just saw the leader of that group; they’re planning their next move,” Su Ting said, frowning. “We don’t have much time left; we must find Annie’s family and find out the truth as soon as possible.”
“Let’s set off now,” Leah said eagerly.
They packed their bags and hurriedly set off for the small village. Along the way, everyone remained highly vigilant, constantly on guard against any potential dangers. After several hours of trekking, they finally arrived at the small village by the lake.
“This is it!” Anne exclaimed excitedly. “I know every single road here.”
The village seemed peaceful, even too quiet. Su Ting gestured for everyone to spread out and discreetly gather information. He himself, along with Annie, searched the village for her family.
"Dad, Mom, where are you?" Annie called out anxiously, but no one answered.
“Annie, think about it carefully again. Where do you usually go?” Su Ting asked patiently.
“We usually picnicked in the clearing behind this grove, and we often washed clothes by the stream behind the village,” Anne recalled.
"Okay, then take me to see it," Su Ting nodded.
Chapter 931 is not that simple.
They circled around to the other side of the village and, sure enough, found an open area by the river. However, there was no one there either. A sense of unease rose in Su Ting's heart; he felt that things were not so simple.
“There are no signs of anyone else being here. Could it be…” Su Ting pondered for a moment, then suddenly remembered something, “Annie, do you think those masked men might have kidnapped your parents?”
Anne froze, tears welling up in her eyes again. "You mean...they might be kidnapped by those bad guys?"
“It’s very possible, but we won’t give up hope; we must find them,” Su Ting said firmly.
Just then, Kevin returned with a message: "Su Ting, the villagers said that there was indeed a riot by the lake a few days ago, and some people saw a group of masked men taking away some villagers."
“It seems we need to hurry,” Su Ting said. “Those people may have taken them to some secluded place.”
"So what should we do now?" Lena asked.
“We need more information,” Su Ting pondered for a moment. “Annie, can you recall any details of what those masked men said? Even a casual remark would be helpful.”
Anne tried hard to recall, a hint of confusion flashing in her eyes. "They seemed to have mentioned a name... 'Dark Night' or something, it sounded like the name of an organization."
“'Dark Night'? That name sounds ominous.” Su Ting frowned. “Regardless, we must find them as soon as possible.”
“I know a place that my father once mentioned. He said that the organization’s stronghold is in a nearby valley,” Anne said eagerly.
“Okay, let’s go there now.” Su Ting made the decision decisively.
“Wait a minute,” Lena stopped her. “It’s getting late, and the mountain path is rugged and difficult to travel. Let’s wait until dawn to go.”
Su Ting nodded. "You're right. We'll rest here tonight and set off again tomorrow morning."
"Then I'll go prepare dinner for everyone now," Leah said.
"I'll go help too." Lena followed Lia into the woods.
“Thank you,” Anne whispered to Su Ting. “I really don’t know what I would have done without you.”
"You're welcome," Su Ting said with a smile, patting her shoulder. "No matter what difficulties we encounter, we will face them together."
“Yes, I believe you.” Annie smiled slightly.
As night fell, the group sat down by the fire, enjoying the rare tranquility. Su Ting gazed at the starry sky, his heart filled with hope and determination—nothing was insurmountable as long as they were united.
"Su Ting, do you think we can find them?" Kevin asked softly from the side.
“We definitely will,” Su Ting replied firmly. “We will never give up.”
“That’s great,” Lena interjected. “We’ll face this together no matter what.”
“Yes,” Leah nodded in agreement, “Tomorrow is another day, let’s work hard together.”
Night deepened, the firelight flickered, and everyone gradually drifted off to sleep. Tomorrow would be a new beginning; they would continue forward, embracing unknown challenges.
"Get some rest," Su Ting said to everyone. "We have a lot to do tomorrow morning."
"Okay," everyone replied, and they all lay down to rest.
Meanwhile, deep in a nearby valley, members of the Dark Night Organization were busily setting traps, preparing for the impending challenge. Little did they know what formidable foe awaited them.

"Su Ting, do you think we can succeed?" Annie asked softly.
“We definitely will,” Su Ting said firmly. “We’ll work together and we’ll find your family.”
"Yes, thank you." Annie smiled slightly, her unease seeming to lessen somewhat.
The flickering firelight illuminated their faces and the road ahead.
The next morning, just as dawn was breaking, everyone got up early, quickly packed their bags, and prepared to head to the Dark Night organization's stronghold. A tense atmosphere filled the air, but everyone's eyes revealed determination.
"Is everyone ready?" Su Ting asked, looking around.
“Ready!” Kevin, Lena, and Leah answered in unison.
“Annie, are you sure the valley is in this direction?” Su Ting turned to ask Anne.
“Yes, this is it.” Anne nodded, her voice trembling slightly but still full of determination. “I remember it very clearly.”
"Alright, let's set off then." Su Ting waved to signal everyone to move forward.
They traversed the dense forest, following the winding path, gradually approaching the mysterious valley. Throughout the journey, Su Ting remained highly vigilant, constantly observing his surroundings. Annie stayed close by his side, afraid of missing a single detail.
Finally, they stopped in front of a dense forest. "This should be it," Anne whispered. "Father said there was a hidden entrance here."
“Okay,” Su Ting nodded. “Let’s be careful and split into two groups to go in, just in case.”
"Aidan and I will form a team, and the three of you will split up and stay in touch." After assigning the tasks, Su Ting led Aiden forward quietly to scout ahead.
Soon, they discovered a mechanism in front of what appeared to be an ordinary rock. Su Ting studied it carefully and figured out how to open it. The rock slowly moved aside, revealing a dark entrance.
"The lighting inside isn't very good, everyone be careful," Su Ting said in a low voice.
Upon entering the cave, they found themselves in a narrow tunnel. Faint footsteps could be heard from ahead, as if someone was patrolling.
“There is indeed an ambush here,” Aiden said softly. “We need to be extra careful.”
"Try not to make any noise and stay close to me." Su Ting moved forward cautiously, with the others following closely behind.
Suddenly, a corner appeared ahead, and the voices of several people talking could be faintly heard.
"Did you hear that?" Su Ting gestured for everyone to stop.
They slowly approached the corner, peering out to investigate. They saw several masked men conversing quietly, one of them seemingly reporting something.
“…They might come from that direction, so we need to prepare in advance,” a man in black robes said in a deep voice.
"Don't worry, the leader has already sent enough men to ambush us here. We will definitely not let them pass easily," another masked man replied.
Suting and Aiden exchanged a glance and quickly retreated to their teammates. "We have to find another way out; this place is too dangerous," Suting said.
“I saw a fork in the road on the right earlier, maybe we can give that a try,” Kevin suggested.
“Okay, let’s go that way.” Su Ting nodded in agreement and led everyone to the right fork in the road.
