But before he could finish speaking, Shen Ye, having achieved his goal, made his move.

He swiftly extended his right hand, pressed down on Robert Kendo's head, and slammed it against the counter with a loud bang, leaving Robert dizzy and disoriented.

However, Robert was very strong and had received military training, after all, his brother had participated in some of the training for STARS. Under these circumstances, he tried to fight back and reached for the pistol at his waist.

But at such close range, drawing a gun would be incredibly foolish, because nothing is faster than using both hands at that distance. The moment his hand touched the pistol, Shen Ye's fist had already struck his chin.

Snapped!

This powerful punch knocked Robert Kendo unconscious without him even uttering a sound.

Looking at the gun shop owner collapsed on the ground, Shen Ye clapped his hands and shook his head, saying, "American Iaijutsu, nothing special!"

However, he also knew that the other party was too careless. If the other party had been given sufficient preparation, it wouldn't have been so easy to succeed.

Next, Shen Ye dragged the gun shop owner to a corner, then closed the shop door before going to find the equipment he needed.

Because he was dealing with non-human creatures, Shen Ye naturally skipped over those bolt-action weapons that looked very powerful. However, since the United States had long prohibited gun shops from selling automatic firearms, his options were actually quite limited.

After careful consideration, Shen Ye finally chose two AR-15s as his main weapons.

He also found a Type 56 assault rifle, but it was obviously an old gun with the rifling almost worn away. It wasn't very useful except as a collectible, so he just removed the triangular bayonet from the gun and used it as a dagger.

With a suitable rifle in hand, the next step was the pistol, which was much simpler. Shen Ye chose a Beretta 92 and a Glock 17.

Shen Ye originally only planned to bring two Berettas. For him, the double-insured Glock was actually very dangerous. However, he unexpectedly discovered that the gun shop had extended Glock magazines, which made him immediately change his mind.

He tucked the Glock pistol into his trousers, then packed all the other guns, including the shotgun, into a large black backpack, stuffing it with bullets and magazines until he felt it would interfere with his movements.

With his bag on his back, Shen Ye didn't leave immediately. He looked at the clock in the shop and waited until it was almost six o'clock and dark before getting up.

Before leaving, Shen Ye didn't forget to leave a note for the unconscious Robert:

"This is a fair trade."

Although the other party might not understand it after waking up, Shen Ye did this just to comfort himself, since he still felt guilty about taking the other party's gun.

Chapter 4! The Beginning of the Mansion Incident

……

As Shen Ye left the gun shop, a taxi happened to be parked on the side of the road. He thought to himself that he was lucky and waved to the taxi.

"Hey buddy, where to?" The taxi driver was a Black man, and probably realizing that Shen Ye wasn't a local, he was extremely enthusiastic.

"Leave the city, head to the Arklay Mountains." Shen Ye first tossed his backpack into the back seat, then sat in the passenger seat before speaking.

"Dude, are you kidding me?" Sure enough, upon hearing that they were going to the Arklay Mountains, the Black driver looked surprised: "Don't you know what's happened there? Damn it, several people have died there."

"Of course I know, and I'm not joking with you. Let's leave right now." Shen Ye glanced at the time on the car screen; it was already past six o'clock, and urged him on.

“I’m not going.” The Black driver raised his voice, anger suppressing his desire for money: “Sir, please get out of the car, or I will…”

But halfway through his sentence, the black driver's expression changed from anger to fear, because Shen Ye had already drawn his Glock pistol.

"What else can I do?" Shen Ye said, pressing the gun against the black driver's waist as he searched his body and the driver's seat.

"Otherwise, I'll have to take you there, but the area has been cordoned off by the police," the black man said with a hint of despair. The Asian man's professionalism had completely convinced him to give up any thought of resistance.

“This is something you need to solve.” Shen Ye put away the M1911 pistol he had taken from the black driver and continued, “The Alek Mountains are so big that the police can’t possibly block them all. And since you’re a taxi driver in Raccoon City, you must be very familiar with the area around Raccoon City. So, you must have a way to get there.”

The Black driver couldn't refute Shen Ye's words. Indeed, as a taxi driver, being familiar with the terrain is the most basic professional quality.

"Okay, fine, I'll take you there, as long as you don't hurt me." The Black driver, with a mournful face, started the taxi.

Just as Shen Ye had expected, Raccoon City's police force was insufficient to block all exits. Just before leaving the city, the black driver steered the taxi onto a secluded side street.

After a bumpy ride, the taxi made it out of town, and the Black driver then drove the car onto the highway via a side road.

A dozen minutes later, the taxi arrived at a section of road with dense vegetation. At this moment, Shen Ye knocked on the door and called out:

"That's enough for now, park the car."

Upon hearing this, the Black driver immediately braked, turned off the engine, quickly got out of the car, deftly took out all the cash he had on him and placed it on the hood, then put his hands behind his head and knelt down next to the taxi.

"Sir, please don't kill me. I have several children to raise." The black driver looked at Shen Ye, his voice filled with pleading.

Shen Ye was stunned by his skillful operation and it took him a long time to come back to his senses. He sighed and said that the United States was indeed a beautiful country, with such talents.

After clearing his throat a few times, Shen Ye pointed his pistol at the black driver and asked, "That's a bit difficult, after all, you've seen what I look like."

"No, no, no..." the black driver quickly said, "I can't remember what you look like at all. In fact, to me, you Asians all look basically the same."

Shen Ye agreed with this statement; he also couldn't remember what foreigners looked like.

"Alright, I was just joking with you. I'm a good person and I would never kill someone indiscriminately." Shen Ye moved the gun aside; he had no intention of killing this unfortunate driver in the first place.

"Thank you, thank you..." Seeing that Shen Ye didn't seem to be lying to him, the black driver breathed a slight sigh of relief, but he didn't dare to stand up. He remained kneeling on the ground, his hands clasped together, and he said ingratiatingly.

Shen Ye smiled, ignored him, threw his backpack onto the taxi's hood, opened it, took out bullets and magazines, and loaded them with a quickloader.

Half an hour later, Shen Ye filled all the magazines with bullets. He glanced at the time on the car again. It was already past seven o'clock, but there was still some time before the Alpha team set off.

After waiting for a while, Shen Ye simply took out a cigarette and started smoking. After smoking almost half a pack of cigarettes, he finally heard the roar of the propeller.

STARS' Alpha Team has arrived.

Watching the helicopter fly by, Shen Ye threw his half-smoked cigarette on the ground, ground it with his toe, and said to the black driver who was still kneeling on the ground, "You can go now."

The Black driver, whose legs were numb from kneeling, looked at Shen Ye in surprise: "You...you really won't kill me?"

Shen Ye was too lazy to answer this pointless question. He slung his bag over his shoulder, grabbed an AR-15 pistol, and walked in the direction the helicopter had flown. After a few steps, he turned back to the black driver and said, "If you can, you'd better leave Raccoon City as soon as possible."

"Why?" The Black driver looked bewildered.

Shen Ye pulled hard on the bolt, chambering a bullet, and said fiercely, "Because this place is about to become hell."

……

In the forest, Shen Ye cautiously advanced, following the direction from which the gunshots came.

He knew, of course, that the Alpha team had been ambushed by zombie dogs while inspecting the Bulava team's helicopter, which made him alert.

To be honest, no matter how brave or good-natured he was, he was still a little scared to walk alone in a jungle where zombies could appear at any time.

Suddenly, a rustling sound came from the bushes not far away. Shen Ye stopped and quickly pointed his gun in that direction, the flashlight attached to the muzzle illuminating the area in a bright white light.

Under the light, a rabbit jumped out of the grass in a panic.

Upon seeing that it was a rabbit, Shen Ye immediately breathed a sigh of relief and muttered, "I was still too nervous."

After regaining his composure, Shen Ye continued forward. He could no longer hear the gunshots, and could only pray that he hadn't gone the wrong way.

Perhaps Lady Luck was on his side, because a dozen minutes later, he found the crashed helicopter that Bulava's team had been in in an open field.

Shen Ye immediately quickened his pace and approached the helicopter. He planned to check the helicopter before entering the mansion to see if he could find anything useful.

Although he carried a lot of ammunition, civilian firearms are no match for standard police equipment. If he could find well-preserved firearms or projectiles, that would be ideal.

Unfortunately, the crashed helicopter spontaneously combusted, burning the inside to a crisp, leaving nothing behind.

With a helpless sigh, Shen Ye had no choice but to leave regretfully.

Actually, by now, he no longer needed to determine the direction, because the area around the helicopter was full of footprints. Even without the reconnaissance skills he had learned in the reconnaissance company, he could find the location of the mansion by following the footprints.

Sure enough, guided by the footprints, Shen Ye soon saw an ancient building standing in the jungle.

The moment he saw the ancient building, a bolt of lightning ripped across the sky, creating an intense atmosphere of terror, and a system notification sounded in his mind:

[Resident Evil Trilogy Side Mission 1: The Mansion Incident Activated]

[Note: This task is not mandatory, and there is no penalty for failure.]

Chapter 5! First Encounter, Jill Valentine

As the system notification ended, Shen Ye vaguely heard countless eerie whispers and a bell ringing in his ears, as if welcoming him to hell.

The Mansion Incident has officially begun.

Shen Ye took a deep breath to relieve the pressure in his heart. No matter what, reality is different from the game. He only has one life. He can't reload the save and start over, nor can he survive by covering his kidneys.

After taking a few deep breaths, Shen Ye felt much less stressed. He then checked the gun in his hand one last time and, after confirming that there were no problems, he slowly approached the mansion's door, gently pried it open a crack with the barrel of his gun, and glanced inside.

Yes, there's no one there, and no zombies either.

Only then did he feel reassured and boldly push open the door, striding inside.

However, as soon as he entered, Shen Ye realized that he hadn't observed carefully enough, because there was a zombie corpse lying on the floor of a large hall in the mansion.

"If I remember correctly, this zombie corpse should be the one Jill encountered that 'smiled back'. It seems the plot has already begun."

This was good news for Shen Ye. He could follow the trail left by the Alpha team members and track them down without having to worry about being attacked by a large number of zombies.

The downside is that the initial user experience is slightly weaker.

Of course, if he were to encounter any member of the Alpha team, he would have to worry about whether he could handle the intense experience.

But before that, he needed to come up with a reason to explain why he was here.

“That’s a bit difficult! Who would believe a tourist would show up here with an AR15 and a whole bag full of ammunition, unless he’s an idiot.”
