The Return to Hogwarts
Page 11
The oppressive silence ravaged Amosta's mind, and the ever-present crisis made every cell in his body tremble. Under the influence of both fear and excitement, the magic in his body was more excited than ever before, as if he had been looking forward to the life-or-death crisis that was about to unfold!
"No matter who you are, no matter what your purpose is,"
Amosta stared intently at the attacker's face, which was obscured by his hood, and said coldly.
"Breaking into Hogwarts, right under Headmaster Dumbledore's nose, and attacking a minor wizard with the most dangerous of the three Unforgivable Curses—I must express my admiration for you. You have great courage."
The woman didn't speak, only letting out a disdainful snort, seemingly not bothering to respond at all.
"Dumbledore and the school's professors will be here in five minutes at most. If you escape now, you might still make it in time."
The wand in the woman's hand was steady and did not waver in the slightest, which made Amosta's heart sink, realizing that the other party was probably determined to take his life.
But why?
Since he entered Hogwarts, he has never offended anyone. His only involvement with wizards outside the school was selling potions by using owls. Could it be that someone died from the potion he brewed, and the family came to seek revenge?
That's impossible, of course. Amosta is confident in his skills; such a tragedy won't happen.
Amosta couldn't understand it, and the woman who attacked him wouldn't give him enough time to think. She knew that Amosta's previous words weren't a lie; Dumbledore and the professors from the school were indeed coming soon.
Tonight, the most dangerous battle begins!
The green light that illuminated the forbidden forest once more heralded the battle for survival.
Amosta's expression was solemn like never before. He raised his wand high, as if wielding a king's sword and suddenly slashing down. The tip of the wand, which was emitting a faint light, suddenly burst forth like a collapsing dam, spewing out endless and surging magical power. That magical power transformed into a silver river of stars under the dark night sky, and struck the earth with tremendous force.
Rumble~
The earth trembled violently, and the large blue stone between the two was instantly pulverized into dust. The rustling sound of tens of thousands of frost-covered leaves at the same moment was terrifying.
When the dust settled and the cursed light dissipated, a shocking crack seventy or eighty feet long had appeared on the soft ground.
This curse is Amosta's response to the killing curse he cast on the woman!
Chapter 16 Rampant
Dazzling, eerie spell lights suddenly appeared and disappeared in the dim light. In the quiet forest, the rumbling sounds of trees breaking and crashing to the ground, as well as loud bangs, could be heard continuously.
The two fighters moved quickly and continuously across the rugged terrain, using any obstacles such as broken logs, vines, and bushes to gain a slight advantage.
Only half a minute had passed since the life-or-death duel began, and Amosta had already confirmed two things.
Firstly, the black-robed witch he was fighting was indeed after him, and she was determined to kill him.
She had no qualms about using dark magic, including the three Unforgivable Curses, which were explicitly prohibited by the Ministry of Magic, as well as many other restricted spells that would result in death or serious injury if touched, all in the hope of killing herself as quickly as possible.
This was utterly absurd! Amosta's face turned ashen, his eyes blazing with fury!
Who could possibly harbor such deep hatred for me that they would want to kill me?
Secondly, the Black Witch's combat experience is indeed rich; at least, Amosta admits that she is inferior.
During their brief exchange, her dazzlingly agile footwork in dodging spells was like that of a dance master. In addition, her various methods of inducing attacks, her skills in launching sneak attacks even in high-intensity combat, and her adept use of polymorph spells, tactical spells, and dark magic left Amosta in awe!
Compared to him, Amostella, who only secretly practiced dueling skills in private and occasionally sparred with Professor Snape, could only be considered a novice.
Of course, he also has his own strong advantages.
If Amosta were to comment, this battle would be a duel between an assassin and a master.
This mysterious black witch is like a meticulously trained assassin. For her, all spells and attack techniques are merely tools for killing; she only seeks to be proficient, not to master them.
But Amosta is different. He has always been dedicated to exploring the essence of magic, and has found a unique path in tracing the origins of modern spells. As long as he keeps moving forward, he will surely achieve remarkable results in the future.
Most of the spells he uses are improved versions that have been carefully considered and tested countless times. They are extremely powerful and difficult to resist head-on. The only drawback is that they consume too much magic power.
Amostah was already somewhat regretting the spell he had initially used with the intention of intimidation. The spell had consumed a significant portion of his magic power but had produced no effect whatsoever.
During the duel, the Dark Witch cast an illusion spell on herself. Although her magic could not be hidden, it did make it difficult to pinpoint her exact location. Moreover, this tactic, combined with her constant repositioning and silent spellcasting techniques, made it possible to launch a face-to-face sneak attack.
Fortunately, Amosta had a strong learning ability. He quickly learned the method by imitation, which made the two fighting in the Forbidden Forest look more like two invisible ghosts casting spells at each other!
call!
A raging torrent of flames erupted from a half-shattered rock on the hillside, growing stronger in mid-air and quickly transforming into a vast, all-encompassing wave of fire. Fire dragons, sphinxes, chimeras, and other fiery beasts roared and howled silently atop the crest of the wave.
The Black Witch had no intention of controlling the Fiendfire. She allowed the terrifying flames to expand unchecked, burning everything in their path, while she quickly changed positions and concealed herself.
Amosta's lips were pressed tightly together, his eyes filled with hatred.
At his current level, he couldn't completely extinguish the Fiendfire, but he couldn't just stand by and watch the Fiendfire engulf the Forbidden Forest. Otherwise, the unfortunate Gryffindor lion cubs would probably all perish under the Fiendfire.
Amosta swiftly waved his wand, scattering a golden flame into the air. This flame was derived from Fiendfire, but Amosta had improved and restricted it. Although it was not as domineering as Fiendfire, it was easier to control and would not affect one's sanity.
Using fire to control fire is a clever way to prevent fires.
Amostah controlled the flames to isolate the wave of fire, and he increased the output of magic, intending to gradually devour the Fiery Blaze.
"I don't want to imagine what happened there, Snape. How many people have died!"
Gazing at the golden and white flames illuminating half the sky in the direction of the Forbidden Forest, Professor McGonagall's lips were tightly pressed together, her face terribly pale. Completely abandoning her dignity as the vice-principal, she ran wildly, even letting her usually meticulously styled hair fall loose without bothering to tidy it up.
Snape's face was ashen, not much better than Professor McGonagall's. For the first time in many years since the night Lily died, he was silently praying again!
At the castle gate, Professor Flitwick missed a step and tumbled down in a sorry state. Professor Sprout, who had even lost his hat, simply helped him up as he passed by before running off into the Forbidden Forest without a word.
Whoosh, whoosh!
After a long stalemate, the dark witch, unable to kill Amostella, resorted to an even more despicable tactic. She transformed a pile of rubble into sharp daggers and then controlled more than a dozen of them to attack the Gryffindors who had been moved to the open ground by Amostella!
"No matter who you are, I will make you pay a price you'll never forget!"
His anger was practically bursting from Amosta's eyes, but his right hand, which was suppressing the raging fire, remained unshaken, while his left hand threw out a milky white ball of light.
The ball of light reached Bill and Charlie's location before the dagger could strike, instantly expanding into a semi-circular, inverted, transparent bowl-like magical barrier that blocked the incoming dagger in the nick of time.
His move caught even the Black Witch off guard, leaving her stunned for two seconds.
These two seconds became the key to victory or defeat!
Amostella abruptly withdrew her right hand, her wand trembling rapidly. In the blink of an eye, the stone beneath her feet transformed into a long spear with a surface stained with patina, which shot out like lightning and appeared in front of the Black Witch almost instantly.
Boom!
In the nick of time, the Black Witch summoned a wall of light shrouded in black mist. The light wall collided with the spear, producing a deafening roar like the striking of a gong. Then, both vanished into specks of light.
Although she managed to block it, the incredibly powerful impact caused a surge of magic within the Black Witch's body, leaving her momentarily blank in consciousness.
"The Divine Edge is Shadowless!"
Finally seizing the opportunity, Amosta let out the loudest roar of the battle so far. The invisible void burst forth with a crisp clang, and in an instant, Death wielded his scythe and came to the Black Witch's head, decisively slashing down with cold anger!
On the other side, Snape, who had just stepped into the Forbidden Forest, heard the violent roar of that familiar voice. His body swayed uncontrollably, and his face turned from yellow to black. The next second, he mustered all his strength and ran wildly again.
P.S.: I'd appreciate any recommendations for investments totaling 100. Thank you so much!
Chapter 17 Trust
Disappeared? !
Amostah stared in astonishment at the spot where the Black Witch had just stood, his expression a mixture of shock and confusion.
Is it Apparition or a Door Key?
The thought flashed through Amosta's mind, but he immediately dismissed it.
As is well known, the Hogwarts campus is protected by a great deal of powerful magic. The teleportation methods commonly used by wizards are not effective here. The magical core that protects the school comes from the vast magical power accumulated by Hogwarts Castle over thousands of years. It is a power on a completely different level. Even if the four great wizards were reborn, they probably would not be able to break through the defensive system they set up back then.
But the reality is that, the mysterious Black Witch glared venomously at Amosta the moment the Divine Sword Shadowless Curse landed, and then, unwillingly, vanished into thin air.
Amosta looked around in astonishment, hoping to find some clues, but the black witch was definitely no longer there, and had not gone into hiding again.
How could that be? Although they were in the Forbidden Forest, they had not broken through the walls that Hogwarts had set up in the Forbidden Forest. Theoretically, they were still in the school.
Amostella had no intention of suppressing the still-burning Fiendfire. He took a step and cautiously approached the spot where the Black Witch had last stood.
The previous use of the Divine Sharpness and Shadowless Curse was not without its rewards; there was a pool of bright red blood on the ground, which appeared to be left by the Black Witch.
Disordered footsteps could be heard not far away. It seemed that the school professors had finally arrived. Amosta stared at the blood on the ground, which had not yet fully seeped into the soil, his face full of resentment.
Amostella felt a surge of intense resentment at the fact that such a powerful and hateful witch was lurking in the shadows, watching him, while he knew nothing about her identity.
"You left a flaw,"
Amostall muttered to himself. Before Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape arrived, he took out a small bottle and drew the blood from the ground into it. Then, he cast a freezing spell on the bottle.
"I will find you."
Snape and McGonagall were not the first to arrive at the scene; Dumbledore arrived before them.
Suddenly, a brilliant crimson flame appeared in the air filled with scorching heat and the stench of burning. Albus Dumbledore appeared in mid-air without any warning, clutching his phoenix claws. After becoming visible, he landed steadily on the ground, his agile and nimble movements belying his centenarian age.
Upon landing, Dumbledore quickly surveyed his surroundings. When he saw Amostella, standing amidst scorched earth in shock at the way he had appeared, the unconscious members of the Gryffindor team, and Bill still dangling in mid-air, his azure eyes behind his half-moon-framed glasses flashed with a breathtaking fury.
In the invisible world, the enraged Dumbledore is like a black hole with immense gravity. The moment he appears, the ocean of magic is as if affected by the powerful tidal forces of a full moon, and the surging and roaring sounds are almost audible!
The first thing Dumbledore did was extinguish the Fiendfire that Amostella had failed to completely suppress. He simply waved his wand, and the pale Fiendfire and the golden flames summoned by Amostella vanished instantly.
"Hand over your wand, Mr. Blaine."
