Professor McGonagall was so angry she was panting. If Lupin hadn't already graduated, she probably would have deducted two hundred points from her college.

Lupin interrogated Peter and confirmed that he was the traitor from back then. Sirius Black was completely framed by Peter.

traitor?

A bad feeling welled up in Harry's heart. He stared intently at Lupin, his heart pounding.

—Whom did Peter betray?

However, Lupin did not elaborate. He then took Wade and Peter Pediru back to the school to find Dumbledore to handle the aftermath.

"So... the person who kept secrets back then was..." Professor McGonagall asked incredulously.

“It was Peter.” Lupin’s face showed pain. “Sirius switched the Secret Service at the last minute… He thought it would be safer that way…”

Professor McGonagall wanted to say something, but seeing Harry's bewildered expression, she held back.

Children should not be burdened with hatred at an early age.

"Can we be sure that Peter is telling the truth?" Dumbledore asked. "You know he's been lying for over a decade... How can we prove he's not making up stories now?"

“I’m sorry, sir,” Lupin said apologetically, “I used truth serum…”

Using truth serum indiscriminately is illegal, but the people present understood Lupin's feelings and did not raise any questions.

“I think we need to inform the Ministry of Magic.” Dumbledore stood up and said, “Ron Weasley and Wade Grey, please stay here. Professor McGonagall, please take the other children back to the common room, and then ask Arthur and Molly to come to the school.”

“Okay,” Professor McGonagall said.

Harry quickly asked, "Can't...can't we stay?"

“I’m sorry, but you probably won’t be of much help with Peter Pedirou’s interrogation,” Dumbledore said bluntly.

"Uh……"

Harry had nothing to say, so he could only glance enviously at the two people left behind, and then left with Professor McGonagall.

Ron said to him silently, "I'll tell you everything later."

Harry nodded slightly, feeling a little better.

“Professor!” Percy quickly raised his hand and said, “Scabbers used to be my pet, so I might be able to provide some information.”

“We can do it too!” the Weasley twins exclaimed. “We even participated in the capture operation!”

“…I think one person is enough,” Dumbledore said.

Fred and George were still unwilling to give up, but Professor McGonagall said sternly, "Stop making trouble, Mr. Weasleys! The headmaster has made his decision."

Fred had no choice but to follow him out, mouthing the words to Wade as they left—

Be sure to tell us all the details after it's over!

They were so eager to participate; it was more fun than all their pranks.

Unfortunately, adults cruelly exclude them.

Wade nodded slightly and agreed.

Chapter 152 Cornell Fudge

Chapter 152 Cornelius Fudge

Professor McGonagall probably used Apparition to find the Weasleys; they arrived very quickly.

Vader stood by the window, watching them brave the heavy rain and traverse the muddy ground to enter the castle.

— Filch is probably going to be furious again.

Suddenly, it occurred to me.

These past few days, whenever the students go outside, they bring mud and water into the school, making everything dirty.

Filch loathed this, because he was always the one who had to clean (the house-elves only cleaned the castle at night).

With Filch yelling and threatening confinement, far fewer students ran out of the castle to get soaked in the rain.

A short while later, another group of people, led by Hagrid, came across the meadow. They held up their wands as if they were an invisible umbrella, warding off the rain.

“Wade…” Ron asked hesitantly, “Do you know what they mean by saying that Scabbers…Peter is the secret agent?”

“Peter faked his death eleven years ago, and Sirius Black went to prison,” Wade said. “Around that time, something momentous happened that the entire wizarding world knows about…”

“The Man of Darkness failed… Harry’s parents are dead…” Ron murmured, “So… what they meant by betrayal was…”

"You two come in," Lupin said, pushing open the door. "The interrogation is over, and the Ministry of Magic will be here soon."

When Wade and Ron entered, they saw Peter Pediru tightly strapped to a chair, looking somewhat dazed.

It was obvious that he had taken truth serum again.

Snape stared intently at Peter Pedirou, his eyes as cold and venomous as a viper's, filled with deep-seated hatred.

Ron glanced at it once and quickly looked away.

As they entered, Snape turned to look at Lupin, his expression still full of disgust.

Wade sighed inwardly.

The grudges and affections spanning over a decade or two in the original story cannot be fully captured in just a few strokes of the pen. As Wade was not a witness to the events of that time, he could only speculate and could not make a judgment regarding the rights and wrongs of that era.

When capturing Peter Pedyru, Wade considered whether to use Snape's help, but ultimately decided against it.

the reason is simple.

Given Snape's hatred for the Bandits, if he had captured the real traitor, Peter Pedyru, he would have simply sent him to his death with an Avada Kedavra spell, and there was no way he would have exonerated Sirius Black of Azkaban.

To clear the name of an enemy? What a joke!

In his view, Sirius Black deserved his fate. He wished he could send Lupin in too, so they could reunite in Azkaban and die happily with the Dementors.

Led by Professor McGonagall, the Weasleys and several Ministry of Magic staff entered the Headmaster's office.

Leading the way was a short, stout middle-aged man with messy gray hair. He wore a dark green coat and purple pointed boots, and his expression was a mixture of anxiety and seriousness.

“That’s Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge,” Ron whispered to Wade. “I’ve seen him before.”

Ron and Wade were not in the same academy and had only ever been nodding acquaintances.

But at this moment, with many adults present, he seemed to subconsciously assume that the two young wizards were a group, and appeared much closer to Wade than usual.

"His aesthetic sense is somewhat peculiar."

Wade didn't shut people out; he spoke in a low voice as well.

Ron felt that they were in cahoots when they complained about their father's boss. When he saw an Auror looking at them, he shut his mouth and moved closer to Wade.

"Ronnie!" Mrs. Weasley suddenly rushed over, hugged her son tightly, and then looked him up and down.

“I didn’t expect… I didn’t expect that the rat I adopted randomly would be an Animagus… Did he do anything to you?”

Her enthusiasm made Ron feel a little embarrassed. He struggled to break free from his mother's embrace and shouted, "No, Mom, I'm fine!"

“Good evening, Connelly, Arthur, Jasmine,” Dumbledore said. “I think Minerva has already told you what happened.”

"Yes...I've heard about it..."

Fudge didn't approach Peter; he stood at a distance and looked at the drab man, frowning.

“Unbelievable…it’s unbelievable…” Fudge shook his head: “Peter is actually still alive! I was so saddened by his death…he’s still alive! But he didn’t even show up when his mother died…”

"He's Scabbers?" Arthur Weasley looked incredulous, his face pale. "Did he say so? He's hiding in our house... what is he trying to do?"

"Rest assured, Arthur," Dumbledore said. "Peter only wanted to obtain some information about the wizarding world from your family; he did not do anything to harm the children."

The Weasleys were somewhat relieved.

An Auror stepped forward, examined Peter Pediru, and, confirming that he was not someone else in disguise using magic, nodded to Fudge.

“Then I’ll take this one with me, Dumbledore,” Fudge said. “And Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, well, and Mr. Weasley Jr., I think you need to provide some information about Peter Pedyru.”

“Yes, Minister.” Arthur Weasley readily agreed, waving his hand to signal Ron to come to his side.

Fudge saw Wade beside him and asked, "Who is this child...?"

“This is Vid Grey, a student of Ravenclaw, who caught Peter Pediru, who had turned into a rat,” Professor McGonagall explained.

"Oh?" Fudge's gaze sharpened. "Why would you catch a mouse?"

“I made him do it,” Lupin said. “I used to be friends with Peter and I’m very familiar with his Animagus form.”

“If you need to know the details of the arrest, I’d be happy to provide them,” Wade said politely.

That's why he stayed.

“Oh, oh, let’s talk about that later.” Fudge didn’t seem very interested in it. He stared at Lupin and asked, “You’re not an illegal Animagus either, are you?”

Snape suddenly let out a cold laugh.

Lu Ping's face twitched, and he mumbled, "No... I'm not."

Dumbledore nodded: "I can guarantee that."

Snape's face immediately turned ugly, and he glared fiercely at Lupin.

“Alright, since you put it that way…” Fudge twirled his cane and asked, “Why does Peter look like this? It looks like he’s been through some… um… not-so-legal interrogation…”
