Finon stared at him in astonishment, his small eyes darting around rapidly.

In the small bedroom, Harry jumped out of bed, staring in horror at the stranger who had suddenly barged into the room.

"You...who are you?"

He frantically grabbed a pillow and held it in front of him.

“Come with me, Harry.” Lupin took a deep breath and said, his eyes welling up with tears, “I’m a friend of your parents… I’ve come to take you away.”

Harry hesitated for only a second before jumping off the bed and grabbing his hand.

For him, there was no worse place in the world than the Dursleys' house, and many times he suspected he would starve to death.

"Wait, Hedwig!"

Harry ran over and picked up his owl cage.

Lupin glanced at the bowl beside him with disgust. There was only a little bit of clear vegetable soup left at the bottom of the bowl, and the owl's food bowl contained only a few wrinkled vegetables.

Living room on the first floor.

"Of course you can call 999 to report it, but I want to remind you that it is illegal for guardians to have the financial means to deliberately fail to provide adequate food, clothing, medical care or accommodation for a ward under the age of 14."

Wade said calmly, "If I'm not mistaken, Harry is locked in a room upstairs, right? The windows are all nailed shut."

“Imprisonment, abuse, and neglect of children are all crimes. Physical abuse, emotional abuse, and domestic violence all constitute child abuse. Those who are reported will be fined and imprisoned.”

“Your actions have violated the Prevention of Child Abuse Law, the Child Guardianship Law, and the Child Law promulgated three years ago.”

"If you don't believe me, you can check it out. Or you can call the police and let them determine right from wrong."

"I just don't know, if you and your husband are arrested and imprisoned by the police, what will the neighbors think of you? What will happen to your Dada at school?"

“You…how do you know all this?” Penny asked incredulously. “You’re just like them…the same weird…the same kind of person, right?”

These laws are so poorly understood that even ordinary people, let alone wizards, know very little about them.

“My parents don’t know magic either, and I grew up in the same environment as you.”

Wade raised his voice slightly: "What do you think, Harry? If you choose to call the police, I'm sure the couple will be punished."

The Dursleys turned around in alarm and saw that Harry had followed Lupin downstairs sometime earlier.

The two were immediately terrified.

Police... jail time... Dali will be bullied by his classmates at school... he might even be expelled...

Their future was suddenly shrouded in a terrible shadow, a shadow brought about by the very brat they had always disregarded.

Harry felt a surge of hatred.

For a moment, he really wanted to call the police, send the couple to jail, and let the whole world know about his grievances.

But he opened his mouth, hesitated several times before finally deciding to speak, and then ruffled his hair haphazardly before saying, "I... let's go..."

Chapter 114 Chocolate

Lupin seemed somewhat disapproving, but after a moment of silence, he ultimately respected Harry's choice.

The Dursleys breathed a sigh of relief, but the thought of being "forgiven" by Harry twisted their expressions again.

"that……"

Harry looked at Lupin, unsure of what to call him, and looked to Wade for help.

“This gentleman is Remus Lupin, my tutor and a close friend of your father.”

"You can trust him," Wade explained.

“Mr. Lupin,” Harry pointed to the area below the stairs and asked, “Could you help me open this lock?”

"of course can."

Lupin was eager to do something for him, so he immediately used a lock-picking spell to open the lock, glancing at the small, dark storage room without paying much attention.

Harry handed the owl cage to Wade, then squatted down in front of the storage room and rummaged through it, pulling out various personal items—a wand, robes, spellbooks, a cauldron, a flying broom, and the Book of Friends, which was buried at the very bottom.

As soon as summer vacation started, Vernon locked all his belongings in this small storage room, and Harry tried his best to at least keep the Book of Friends from him...

"It's just a piece or two of parchment!"

He couldn't reach the Book of Friends in his uncle's hands even when he jumped, and could only shout angrily.

But because he cared so much, Vernon was the first to take the Book of Friends and hid it in the deepest part of the house.

"Don't even think about it!" Vernon yelled at him in a terrifying voice, "Don't even think about polluting our home with your evil stuff!"

……

Harry shook his head, as if trying to shake the bad memories and the dark storage room out of his mind.

He haphazardly stuffed everything into the box, stood up, and gave a relieved smile, saying, "Wade, Mr. Lupin, let's go."

He didn't look at the pale, stiff Dursleys anymore, nor did he pay attention to Dudley trembling in the bathroom. With every step he took out of the house, happiness swelled in his heart.

Wade accompanied him away, and casually asked, "Did you hear what I just said?"

“Mmm,” Harry responded, his tone very soft.

“You should know that not only today, but until you turn eighteen, the Child Protection Act will protect your legal rights,” Wade said.

The Dursleys turned pale and looked like they wanted to gag him.

Wade was obviously saying it to them on purpose.

Harry thought he could leave the Dursleys forever, but Wade knew that he would have to come back and stay there for a while every year before graduating.

He reminded Harry, "Don't think that losing your wand means you can't fight against adults. In the world of ordinary people, the law is a weapon that can protect you."

"I understand, thank you... Wade."

Harry was very grateful.

No one had ever told him that he could protect himself in this way.

He understood, of course, that Wade had given him a powerful weapon… No one knew better than him how afraid his Uncle Vernon and Aunt Penny were of their family being “different.”

If the police walk around their doorstep, it's no different from sending them to their deaths.

Lupin followed silently behind them, and as he was about to leave, he turned to look at the Dursleys.

"I know your relationship with Lily wasn't good back then," he said coldly, "but... if something had happened to you and your husband eleven years ago..."

"James and Lily would never treat your son like that!"

……

The group walked quietly for a while.

Harry's eyes suddenly welled up with tears because of Lupin's last words. He blinked hard and secretly wiped them away quickly with his sleeve.

Wade and Lupin both pretended not to see it.

After Harry finally suppressed the tears in his eyes, he heard Hedwig making loud, strange noises from inside the cage.

Wade raised the cage, frowned at the snow-white owl, and asked, "Is it hungry?"

"Oh, it's suffocating!" Harry hurriedly pulled the latch on the cage. "It's been locked in the cage for ages and hasn't been able to stretch its wings."

As soon as the cage was opened, Hedwig eagerly flew out and disappeared into the sky in an instant.

Harry watched it disappear, when suddenly his stomach growled loudly. He quickly clutched his aching stomach and looked awkwardly at the other two.

"Uh...where are we going..."

Wade and Lupin stopped and looked at each other.

“Let’s go to the farm first,” Wade said. “Everyone’s waiting for Harry over there!”

Lupin nodded: "I also need some time to prepare, at least I need a house... uh..."

He said somewhat awkwardly, "Harry, I don't think I've asked you yet, would you like to live with me?"

“Although you are still a stranger to me, James and I are really good friends… If you would like, I will take care of you like a father…”

"Live with you?" Harry said. "You mean... leave the Dursleys?"

“Of course.” Lupin bent down and said earnestly, “I’ve been homeless for the past ten years or so, and I’m still living in a tavern now… but if you want, I can buy a house, though the conditions might not be great…”

“Of course I would!” Harry interrupted him excitedly. “Are you short of money? I have a sum of money in Gringotts…”

Harry would be more than happy to leave the Dursleys.

Although he didn't know Lupin well, he trusted him, and Lupin impressed him a thousand times more than his Uncle Vernon.

“You don’t need to pay for it, Harry. That’s your inheritance from your parents.”

Lupin patted his head, both amused and exasperated, and said, "Thanks to Tovedere, I now have some savings... and houses in the countryside aren't expensive."

He looked at the two of them and said, "I'll take you to Glaling Farm first... Harry, I'll come pick you up when I'm ready."

"Great...the farm?"

Harry belatedly realized what was happening.

“You’ve missed a lot,” Wade said. “We’ll talk more on the way.”
