Grandpa Gao paused for a moment, then continued, "The wedding was quite a grand affair that day. I thought we had found a good son-in-law, but unexpectedly, he got very drunk in the afternoon and changed completely."
Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong became interested and eagerly asked, "How will it transform?"
Grandpa Gao gestured with his hand, saying, "First, he grew a pig's nose, then pig's ears, then a pig's face, and finally his whole body turned into a pig's head!"
Upon hearing this, Wukong immediately burst into laughter, saying, "What son-in-law? I think he's just a pig demon who accidentally revealed his true form after getting drunk."
At this moment, Tang Sanzang also sighed, then closed his eyes tightly and kept chanting Amitabha Buddha.
Wukong smiled, while Old Master Gao sighed repeatedly. Wukong said, "Then, isn't that your pig demon son-in-law?"
The old man nodded helplessly and said, "That's right. Ever since that day, he has locked my daughter in the back garden, where he also lives, indulging in debauchery all day long. He only allows us to pass her food through the crack in the door each day. We haven't seen my daughter for half a year now. I don't even know what he looks like now."
Now that everything was clear, Sun Wukong still teased, "How's your daughter doing? I think half a year has passed. The little pig demon might have already given birth." Then he burst into uncontrollable laughter.
At this moment, Tang Sanzang spoke up and reprimanded, saying, "Wukong, you mustn't do that. We should capture that pig demon and bring him to justice first."
Sun Wukong laughed and said, "Master, you said you'd capture them and bring them to justice. Capturing them is fine, but who should we bring to justice?"
Tang Sanzang glanced at Old Master Gao, sighed, and said, "Let's capture him first, and then deal with him. The most urgent thing is to let Miss Gao and Old Master Gao meet."
Upon hearing this, Old Master Gao repeatedly agreed, saying, "What the Master says is absolutely right. My mother and I are both desperately missing our daughter. Please, Master, rescue my daughter as soon as possible."
Tang Sanzang looked at Sun Wukong and said, "Tell me, what should we do?" He, Tang Sanzang, was just a mortal, powerless to even kill a chicken. He couldn't even handle bandits, let alone deal with a pig demon. Such a matter, of course, required the help of Sun Wukong.
Upon hearing this, Wukong laughed and said, "This is simple. When I came here, I saw that the demonic aura was soaring in the back garden. I suppose the monster is still in the backyard. Wait for me for a moment, and I will capture it here. Then your daughter will be free."
Tang Sanzang turned around and asked Old Master Gao, "Old Master, what do you think?"
Upon hearing this, Old Master Gao instructed, "The Master is in charge of everything. Just be careful during the fight, and don't hurt my daughter."
Sun Wukong nodded, then leaped back to his original form and landed in the back garden. He heard voices coming from inside the house in the garden, so he leaned in to listen.
A man laughed and said, "You are so beautiful, so incredibly beautiful."
A woman said, "You still have the mind to spout nonsense? I heard that my father invited two powerful sorcerers today. They spotted you in my backyard at a glance. They'll probably come to subdue you soon. You'd better run for your life."
The man said, "Hehe, what do I, Zhu Ganglie, have to fear? Even if a Great Luo Golden Immortal came, I wouldn't put him in my eyes."
Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong chuckled to himself, "What a boastful tone! Just wait and see how I, Old Sun, turn you into a roasted pig."
At this moment, the man and woman began whispering sweet nothings, which gave Sun Wukong goosebumps. He really wanted to grab his staff and attack, but the old man from Gao Village had warned him not to harm his daughter.
So he could only endure it for a while. But in his heart, he cursed, "What a nuisance! This woman is beautiful, but she's been having illicit relations with this pig demon all day long. What is she thinking?"
This old man Gao is really overreacting. These two are newlyweds, and he wants Old Sun to break them up. I really don't know what he was thinking.
Just then, the woman spoke up, "Alright, I'm a little hungry. Go check if today's food has been delivered yet."
The man then said "yes" and went out.
Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong knew his chance had come. He immediately jumped onto the roof, waiting for the pig demon to come out so he could strike him from behind with his staff. Even if he didn't kill him, he could knock him unconscious. That way, he would have accomplished his mission.
Immediately, a man walked out of the room. Sun Wukong revealed his fiery eyes and immediately recognized him as a pig demon.
The man had only taken a few steps when he suddenly felt a chill down his back. He turned around and saw an iron bar coming crashing down on him. He couldn't dodge in time and was struck hard.
The man was injured and immediately revealed his true form. The man himself did not change, but his neck had turned into a huge pig's head.
Chapter 535 Subduing Pigsy
Although the pig demon was severely injured by Sun Wukong's blow, it was not to be outdone. It stretched out its hand and conjured a nine-toothed rake out of thin air, and went up to him.
However, Sun Wukong has always been fierce, and few demons can withstand more than a few moves from him. It is likely that the pig demon will be no exception.
However, Sun Wukong did not expect that this pig demon was actually quite capable, and even though he was seriously injured, he managed to resist.
Sun Wukong wielded his golden cudgel. He moved with incredible speed and a few deft moves, routing the pig demon and forcing it to retreat in an attempt to escape.
But Sun Wukong wouldn't let him escape. In just a few rounds, he had beaten the pig demon so badly that he couldn't get away.
Knowing he probably couldn't escape today, the pig demon roared, "Even if I die, I'll take someone down with me!" With that, he charged at Sun Wukong with his nine-toothed rake as if he didn't care about his life anymore.
Sun Wukong dealt with him, but secretly thought to himself: "I wonder where this pig demon came from. He's quite capable, though. But he still can't beat me. Watch me take him down."
The two sides grew increasingly exhausted from the fight. Finally, the pig demon spotted an opening and leaped up, attempting to escape. However, this gave Sun Wukong an opportunity. He swung his golden cudgel and struck the pig demon on the back.
The pig demon Cui was caught off guard and was knocked to the ground. Just as the pig demon was about to get up and fight again, Sun Wukong swung his staff again, completely knocking the pig demon out of its fighting ability.
Sun Wukong raised his staff, ready to strike again, when suddenly the pig demon begged for mercy, "Hero, spare my life! Hero, spare my life!"
Wukong immediately put away his staff, thinking: Tang Sanzang only asked me to capture him. If I kill him directly, I'll probably get a scolding again. Oh well, I'll take him away to await his fate.
He then grabbed Zhu Ganglie by the ear and dragged him to the front hall.
In the hall, Tang Sanzang and Old Master Gao waited anxiously. Old Master Gao couldn't help but ask, "Master, can that little monk really capture the pig demon?"
Although Tang Sanzang himself was also uncertain, he still pretended to comfort Old Man Gao, saying, "Old sir, be careful. My disciple is highly skilled and possesses great supernatural powers. Taking down that pig demon is always a piece of cake for him."
Upon hearing this, Old Master Gao nodded and said, "I hope so." He felt much more at ease.
What Old Master Gao was worried about was that if Sun Wukong couldn't subdue Zhu Ganglie and was instead killed or eaten by him, he himself would likely be implicated.
After all, everyone knows that Sun Wukong was a great sorcerer invited by his grandfather, Old Master Gao, to subdue the pig demon.
Everyone in the hall was anxious when suddenly Sun Wukong shouted, "Master, I, Old Sun, am back!"
Everyone looked up and saw that it was Sun Wukong coming. He was flying over happily, stepping on colorful shoes and holding a big pig's head in his right hand.
Upon seeing the pig demon, Old Master Gao was so frightened that he dared not speak. Tang Sanzang asked, "Old Master Gao, is this the pig demon you see?"
Old Master Gao stood up slightly and nodded, saying, "It is him, it is him."
Then everyone saw Sun Wukong fall from the sky and land in the hall. With a flick of his right hand, he knocked the pig demon to the ground.
The pig demon, after being thoroughly beaten by Sun Wukong, was covered in wounds. Upon seeing Old Master Gao, he immediately cried out, "Father-in-law, my wife and I are deeply in love! Why did you choose such a powerful monk who has beaten me so badly? It hurts so much!"
Upon hearing this, Wukong immediately laughed and scolded, "I've seen shameless people, but I've never seen a pig more shameless than a human. You, with your messy pig head, have stolen someone's virgin and indulged in debauchery all day long. Now you have this kind of excuse, it's truly something else."
Upon hearing this, Old Master Gao's face alternated between light and pale, before he finally spoke, "Two sorcerers, what should we do with this pig demon?"
Tang Sanzang spoke first, "Wukong, what do you think?"
Wukong laughed and said, "Master, this is someone else's son-in-law. How could we possibly help him?"
Upon hearing this, Old Master Gao pondered for a moment, then waved his hand. A servant brought in a tray of silver. Old Master Gao said, "This fifty taels of silver is for the ritual performed by the two of us. Consider it payment."
Tang Sanzang, who always considered himself a highly accomplished monk, was very concerned about his reputation. Although he wanted it, he couldn't say so directly. So he asked, "Wukong, what do you think we should do? In principle, monks don't take a penny, but Old Master Gao is so kind as to refuse."
Sun Wukong, of course, understood what Tang Sanzang meant. Over the past few days, he had developed a tacit understanding with Tang Sanzang, and immediately said, "Master, you are too kind, but I do have a use for the money. Our temple has been in disrepair for many years. It leaks when it rains, so it would be good to use this money to properly repair the temple."
Upon hearing this, Tang Sanzang nodded in a mocking manner and said, "In that case, it is fine."
Upon hearing this, Wukong immediately stepped forward, took the silver, and prepared to leave. However, Old Master Gao objected.
Pointing at Zhu Ganglie on the ground, he said, "Two sorcerers, if you leave, what will happen to this pig demon? If you keep him around, how will our whole family survive?"
Tang Sanzang also hesitated, saying with difficulty, "To be honest, Master Gao, my master and I are going to the Western Paradise to retrieve the scriptures. We really have something to do."
When Old Master Gao saw Tang Sanzang making excuses, he immediately knelt down and begged for mercy, saying, "Two monks, please save my family. You have already accepted the money, please also subdue the pig demon."
Tang Sanzang was truly embarrassed upon hearing this. He was indebted to the man who fed him, and now that he had taken fifty taels of silver from Old Master Gao, he was essentially trapped by him.
Sun Wukong was secretly overjoyed, but the helpless Tang Sanzang glanced over and asked Sun Wukong for help.
Sun Wukong couldn't say anything, so he immediately came up with a plan. He said, "Master, this demon, although it's a pig demon, is quite skilled. Why don't you subdue it and make it my junior brother?"
Chapter 536 Master and Disciple Reunite
Upon hearing this, Tang Sanzang nodded and said, "That's fine too."
Then he led Sun Wukong out the door, and at this time, Sun Wukong pulled the pig demon over and made him carry the luggage.
Tang Sanzang turned around and said, "You pig demon, you will follow me to the Western Paradise to obtain the scriptures. This will be a way for you to atone for your sins. Once you reach the Western Paradise, you will be able to achieve enlightenment."
Zhu Ganglie was rendered speechless by Sun Wukong and had no choice but to obediently say, "This disciple is willing to go to the Western Paradise with the Holy Monk."
Tang Sanzang then asked, "I still don't know your name?"
Zhu Ganglie lowered his head and said, "My name is Zhu Ganglie."
Upon hearing this, Tang Sanzang repeated the name several times, frowned, and said, "Zhu Ganglie, this name is not good. Very well, I will trouble you to come up with a name for you."
Sun Wukong chuckled and said, "You pig demon, you're really lucky. Your master is going to name you himself."
Tang Sanzang mounted his white horse, shook his head, and finally said, "Alright, I'll name you Zhu Bajie."
Upon hearing this, Pigsy immediately expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Master, for bestowing upon me this name."
Tang Sanzang was satisfied with Zhu Bajie's obedience, so he pulled on the reins and called out, "Wukong, let's go."
Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong reached out and took the white horse's lead, and they walked forward.
The group of master and disciples then continued their journey to the Western Paradise to obtain Buddhist scriptures.
However, with Pigsy's arrival, the white horse was able to rest a bit, as it carried most of the luggage.
A few days later, the group of master and disciples crossed a river and met the dragon. Just as they were being careless, a dragon suddenly rushed out of the river and swallowed Tang Sanzang's white horse whole.
Later, Sun Wukong used all his skills to subdue the white dragon and make it Tang Sanzang's white horse. Of course, he turned the white dragon into a white horse, making it Tang Sanzang's mount.
Several more months passed, and Tang Sanzang and his disciples crossed another river, this one called the Flowing Sand River.
The river is wide but quite deep; even the fishermen on the riverbank say that you couldn't even lift a goose feather.
Tang Sanzang was helpless, unable to cross the river. Just then, Sun Wukong spoke up, "Where is there a river where even a goose feather can't float? Others may not be able to see it, but I can. There's a demon in there. The demonic aura is so strong that even a goose feather can't float."
After saying that, he swung the golden cudgel in his hand, turning it into a towering giant cudgel, and stirred it up in the Flowing Sand River.
