Lao Tzu is Ji Gong

For example, Dipankara Buddha was defeated by Kong Xuan, so he naturally did not submit to him. There were also some bodhisattvas who were originally members of the Chan Sect. These people may have inherited the idea of Yuanshi Tianzun that he disliked the demon race.
They also didn't think highly of Kong Xuan. Randeng and Kong Xuan had a history of open and covert struggles within the Buddhist community, so if it were a one-on-one fight, Kong Xuan naturally wouldn't be afraid.
However, Randeng and others tend to form cliques, while Kong Xuan is arrogant and rarely associates with others. Back then, he was able to fight against the Sage Zhunti, which shows that he indeed had formidable skills.
Upon seeing this, Li Xiuyuan secretly breathed a sigh of relief. If a real fight broke out, even if he had to give up all his territory, he would only be able to protect himself. The conflict between him and Kong Xuan was irreconcilable, after all, he had suppressed Kong Xuan's younger brother, who was also his only relative.
Therefore, Li Xiuyuan felt a sense of urgency. He needed to quickly reach the Quasi-Saint realm so that he would not fear anyone.
Li Xiuyuan made up his mind that after this matter was over, he would go to the Netherworld and then go into seclusion to break through to the next level. He would not come out again until he reached the Quasi-Saint realm.
With three Nine-Turn Golden Pills, Li Xiuyuan was very confident about his breakthrough.
Chapter 391 Conferring of Fruit Ranks
With three Nine-Turn Golden Pills, Li Xiuyuan was very confident about his breakthrough. Once he reached the Quasi-Saint realm, even Kong Xuan would probably lose the ability to protect himself when facing him!
Li Xiuyuan's combat power is astonishing, and few can rival him at the same level. In addition, his trump cards might be able to deal with ordinary quasi-saints, but they are not enough to fight against someone like Kong Xuan.
"Amitabha Buddha, don't worry about him!"
The Buddha's voice, though faint, was incredibly loud, drawing people's attention involuntarily. Upon hearing this, Li Xiuyuan nodded inwardly, realizing that the Buddha's cultivation was not to be underestimated; his every word and action possessed immense power.
Those with lower cultivation levels were completely drawn in. Buddhist techniques, with their persuasive and enticing words, possessed a great power of seduction, which explained the rapid gathering of Buddhist followers. And when the Buddha himself activated his powers, it was even more potent.
As Li Xiuyuan pondered this, he heard the Buddha proclaim, "Now that the reincarnation of Jianglong has returned, his merits are complete. What rank do you all think should be bestowed upon him?"
After speaking, he swept his gaze across the crowd. Although his gaze was gentle, it was so intense that no one dared to look him in the eye.
Everyone was filled with envy, jealousy, and hatred towards Jianglong's reincarnation, who unexpectedly obtained Pangu's essence blood and possessed a great opportunity. Moreover, Li Xiuyuan had also survived the Purple Heaven Divine Lightning, making him even more extraordinary in the eyes of others.
Some people also had the idea of befriending him. Although there was the suppression from the Buddha and the existence of Kong Xuan as a great enemy, once Jianglong grew up, he would definitely not be inferior to the two of them.
At this moment, someone exclaimed, "Your Majesty, I believe that the Dragon Subduer's descent to earth to spread the Dharma has brought great merit to our Buddhist sect and he is worthy of attaining the Buddha's position!"
As he spoke, the man smiled and looked at Li Xiuyuan, seemingly to express goodwill.
Li Xiuyuan nodded upon seeing this. He saw that the person sitting in the hall was of a very high status, at least a Buddha. Apart from the four ancient Buddhas, there were various other Buddhas on Mount Ling.
And the person in front of him was none other than the Buddha of Great Bliss in Buddhism. He had a striking appearance with long ears that reached his shoulders. Although his status was not very high, it was not low either.
Although Li Xiuyuan didn't know who the person in front of him was, he naturally wouldn't refuse someone who was kind to him, so he greeted them warmly.
“Yes, I think it would be better to bestow upon him the title of Living Buddha! He could then roam freely in the human world.”
As he spoke, a Bodhisattva appeared with a smile, and that person was none other than Manjushri Bodhisattva.
Manjushri Bodhisattva holds a sword of wisdom and rides a lion, symbolizing the cutting off of afflictions with the sword of wisdom and the intimidation of demons with the roar of the lion.
His appearance is varied. Based on his appearance, he can be divided into one-syllable, five-syllable, six-syllable, and eight-syllable Manjushri, among which the most common is the five-knot Manjushri.
The Five-Cloaked Manjushri gets his name from the five tufts of hair tied on his head, which represent five kinds of wisdom.
Manjushri Bodhisattva is typically depicted holding a wisdom sword in his right hand, symbolizing the cutting of afflictions with the sword of wisdom. (Or he may hold a ruyi scepter, symbolizing the attainment of wisdom).
The lotus he holds in his left hand bears the Prajnaparamita Sutra, representing the wisdom of thought.
The sword of wisdom signifies the ability to cut through all kinds of ignorance and delusion; wisdom is as sharp as a sword. The Prajna Sutra serves as a symbol of wisdom and compassion.
Manjushri Bodhisattva often rides a lion, symbolizing unparalleled wisdom and might, invincibility, and unbreakable strength.
He is one of the four great Bodhisattvas in Buddhism. The other Bodhisattvas either sit on lotus pedestals, representing purity and freedom from defilement, or ride golden peacocks, symbolizing freedom and unrestrained joy.
At this time, Li Xiuyuan was only an Arhat, while Manjushri Bodhisattva, as one of the four great Bodhisattvas of Buddhism, naturally had the right to speak.
Upon seeing this, Li Xiuyuan frowned slightly, but he made a mental note of it. He would take revenge one day. The two of them had formed an irreconcilable hatred over the last incident, in which he had ruined the other party's years of planning.
Sooner or later, a fight would break out. When Manjushri Bodhisattva saw that Li Xiuyuan had actually reached the realm of a Great Luo Golden Immortal, possessed the essence of Pangu's blood, and comprehended the laws of power, he knew he was no match for him, so he needed to invite his companions.
The Living Buddha that Manjushri Bodhisattva mentioned was just a miscellaneous Buddha. Even if he was recognized by the Buddhist community, his status was not even comparable to that of the Four Great Bodhisattvas. Li Xiuyuan naturally kept this in mind.
When everyone saw Manjushri Bodhisattva speak, they couldn't help but wonder when this Dragon Subduer had offended him. First it was Kong Xuan, then the Buddha, and now it's Manjushri Bodhisattva.
If it weren't for the attention of a sage, these people would probably have already taken action!
"Jianglong, what do you think!"
As he spoke, the Buddha looked over, and his gaze was like a sharp sword, forcing people to back away.
Upon seeing this, Li Xiuyuan was secretly alarmed, but calmly replied, "I feel that the title 'Living Buddha' is somewhat inappropriate. Perhaps it should be changed to 'Boundless' instead!"
As he spoke, the corners of his mouth turned up. He was not Daoji from the original story, who was content with just being a Living Buddha, and even that was only with the approval of the people. The Buddhist sect did not even have such a position!
At this moment, Li Xiuyuan had the capital to make a show of himself. As for the [Boundless] Buddha, he was just testing the waters and didn't think it was likely to succeed.
The word 'immeasurable' truly holds extraordinary significance in Buddhism.
Boundless: refers to the spirit that Buddhas and Bodhisattvas should possess in universally saving countless sentient beings.
There are four kinds in total: giving joy to all beings is the immeasurable mind of loving-kindness; saving all beings from suffering is the immeasurable mind of compassion; rejoicing when all beings are freed from suffering and attain happiness is the immeasurable mind of joy; and treating all beings without hatred or love, and treating them all equally, is the immeasurable mind of equanimity.
In his preface to the "Recompiled Six Wonders Gate," Gong Zizhen of the Qing Dynasty wrote: "In the past, the Great Master divided the eight teachings as follows: Tripitaka, Common and Different, Perfect, Sudden, Gradual, Secret, Indeterminate... From the first dhyana, the fourth dhyana, the four immeasurable minds, it gradually progresses to the Lion's Roar Samadhi, which is the gradual one."
In Buddhism, there is also the concept of the Four Immeasurable Minds, which are four vast altruistic minds. These are the four kinds of loving-kindness (maitri), compassion (karuā), joy (muditā), and equanimity (upekā) that arise in order to enable countless sentient beings to be free from suffering and attain happiness, or the four kinds of meditative practices of loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity.
Chapter 392 Heavenly Dragon Bodhisattva
The above are also known as the Four Immeasurables, the Four Equal Minds, the Four Equalities, the Four Brahma-abodes, the Four Brahma-conducts, and the Immeasurable Mind Liberation. The so-called Immeasurable Loving-kindness is the heart of friendship, the heart that can bring happiness to all beings.
The boundless compassion is to sympathize with the suffering of others and to rescue all beings from their suffering. The boundless joy is to feel happy and joyful when one sees others freed from suffering and attaining happiness. The boundless equanimity is to not cling to the above three minds, and to relinquish all distinctions between friend and foe, treating all beings equally.
These four minds universally benefit countless sentient beings, bringing immeasurable blessings, hence the name "Immeasurable Mind." Furthermore, they equally benefit all sentient beings, hence the name "Equal Mind." By cultivating these four minds through the four dhyanas, one can be reborn in the Brahma realm of the Form Realm, hence the name "Four Brahma Practices."
...................................
"No, you are not qualified to use the word 'limitless'."
It turned out that it was Manjushri Bodhisattva who spoke, and no one else spoke. He couldn't wait to jump out, because if Jianglong gained power, he would be the one to suffer.
The others also glared angrily. After all, the word "Boundless" was of great significance. If it were bestowed upon Li Xiuyuan, they would certainly be dissatisfied. If Li Xiuyuan really became the Boundless Buddha, his status in Buddhism would be no less than that of the Tathagata Buddha.
It is absolutely impossible for him to be above other Buddhas. Even if Li Xiuyuan has great potential, he has not yet grown to become a Quasi-Saint. No one would think that he is qualified to sit on equal footing with them.
“Indeed, Jianglong, you are also a Buddhist disciple, how could you not understand the meaning of the two words ‘immeasurable’?”
Having said that, the Buddha Tathagata coldly swept his gaze over. Even though the other party had the special care of a saint, he would not agree to have an additional Buddha above his head.
Li Xiuyuan replied calmly, "I understand the word 'immeasurable,' but does the Buddha not understand the word 'living Buddha'?"
As he spoke, he asked the Buddha a question: the so-called Living Buddha was just a miscellaneous title, and in terms of status, he was not even as good as the Four Great Bodhisattvas.
Li Xiuyuan believed himself to be no less powerful than any of the Four Great Bodhisattvas, and naturally did not want to be just a mediocre Buddha. Upon hearing this, everyone understood that it was Jianglong expressing his dissatisfaction.
But no one spoke at this moment, because it was a game of chess between the Buddha and his disciple, Jianglong.
Upon hearing this, the Buddha was somewhat annoyed. On Mount Sumeru, he was always the one who had the final say. First, the Peacock King had defied his authority and acted without permission on Mount Sumeru, and then the Dragon Subduer had questioned him. His gaze turned somewhat cold.
It seems I need to make an example of someone to show those others who truly holds the top position in Buddhism. Of course, this excludes the two saints.
"Fine, let's each take a step back."
The Buddha responded calmly, and then said, "I hereby appoint you as the Great Sun Heavenly Dragon Bodhisattva of my sect."
As he spoke, he stated his request, and at the same time, several bodhisattvas looked at Li Xiuyuan with hostility.
Bodhisattva: Bodhisattva, Maudgalyayana, or Bodhisattva.
The term can be translated as: sentient beings, awakened beings, greatly awakened beings, beings with the aspiration for enlightenment. It refers to those who seek enlightenment and great awakening, those with a great heart seeking the Way. Bodhi signifies awakening, wisdom, and the Way.
Sattva means sentient beings or beings with spiritual awareness. Together with Sravaka and Pratyekabuddha, they are called the Three Vehicles. It is also one of the Ten Realms. It refers to a practitioner who seeks supreme enlightenment with wisdom, guides sentient beings with compassion, cultivates the Paramitas, and will attain Buddhahood in the future.
Upon hearing this, Li Xiuyuan was startled. He knew in his heart that this Great Sun Heavenly Dragon Bodhisattva was a hot potato, but he was indeed quite good, at least much better than that Living Buddha.
At this moment, the other bodhisattvas looked at him with hostility. Li Xiuyuan was not afraid at all. Instead, he glanced at them with a hint of pride and replied, "Very good!"
Having said that, he accepted the title, Great Sun Heavenly Dragon Bodhisattva, which was second to none and far superior to Guanyin Bodhisattva in terms of prestige alone.
Originally, there were four Bodhisattvas in Buddhism. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is in the underworld, while the other three are in the netherworld: Manjushri Bodhisattva, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva.
The Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara was depicted with a body of purple-gold color. She had a ushnisha (cranial protuberance) on her head, a halo around her neck, and faces hundreds of thousands of yojanas in size. Within her halo were five hundred manifested Buddhas.
She was originally a man, but during her reincarnation, someone somehow managed to turn her into a woman.
Guanyin Bodhisattva was originally a disciple of Yuanshi Tianzun of Yuxu Palace, and one of the Twelve Golden Immortals.
During the Investiture of the Gods, Cihang suggested that Chijingzi subdue Yin Hong. This was a vicious plan. After Chijingzi used the Taiji Diagram to subdue Yin Hong, Yin Hong begged for mercy. Chijingzi was reluctant to leave, but Cihang urged him, "Don't delay his time to ascend the Investiture Platform." This forced Chijingzi to suppress his grief and tears and use the Taiji Mirror to turn Yin Hong into pus and blood.
After the Investiture of the Gods, Cihang Daoren turned to Buddhism. He was the most perfect inheritor of the nature of Yuanshi Tianzun. Moreover, in Li Xiuyuan's mind, the fact that the other party was transformed from a man into a woman must have been the work of Yuanshi Tianzun.
Another is Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. He was once Samantabhadra Zhenren, one of the Twelve Golden Immortals, and took Muzha as his disciple. After the Investiture of the Gods, he turned to Buddhism and was named Samantabhadra Bodhisattva.
These three people all came from the Chan sect and also betrayed Buddhism together. They could be said to be in cahoots. Li Xiuyuan had a feud with Manjushri Bodhisattva, so naturally he also had a feud with the other two.
Moreover, the three of them are on good terms with Randeng. If Li Xiuyuan becomes their enemy, it will inevitably lead to conflict with the Quasi-Saints. However, he is not the kind of person who is afraid. Even if Randeng is in front of him, what is there to fear?
Compared to Kong Xuan, Ran Deng was far inferior.
Ignoring the gazes of the bodhisattvas, Li Xiuyuan turned to the Buddha, hoping he would make a formal announcement soon.
Seeing that the plan to use someone else to kill had worked and that conflicts between the group were inevitable in the future, the Buddha did not resort to any further tricks. He smiled and said, "Today, I hereby confer upon the Venerable Subduing Dragon the title of Great Sun Heavenly Dragon Bodhisattva!"
As he spoke, his voice resounded throughout the entire Ling Mountain, and everyone could hear it.
"I will obey the Buddha's decree!"
As they spoke, many monks knelt on the ground and shouted, "Greetings, Great Sun Heavenly Bodhisattva!"
