It's about nine o'clock in the morning.

The lockdown period has ended.

"Let them out for a breather!" Berrick roared.

soon.

All the prisoners in Section A lined up and eagerly headed to the exercise yard.

Chapter 38 Countdown, I'm a Good Person

The last day.

Stepping onto the playground, Ding Ze took a long breath and headed straight for the usual spot.

Just as Ding Ze sat down and lit a cigarette, he saw Abruzzi walking over.

“Mr. Ding,” Abruzzi began, his tone extremely respectful, “our plans remain unchanged, don’t they?”

Ding Ze took a drag of his cigarette and smiled. "No, I was planning to finish this cigarette before I came to talk to you."

Abruzzi, clearly excited, asked, "The exact time?"

We arrived outside around midnight.

“Okay!” Abruzzi responded excitedly, “I’ll go make the call and arrange it right away.”

"Okay, thanks."

Abruzzi actually wanted to ask how to get there that night, but after hesitating for a moment, he decided not to ask and quickly headed towards the phone booth.

Ding Ze stayed where he was, quietly smoking, enjoying this peculiar freedom unique to prison.

A few minutes later.

Westmoreland sat down next to Ding Ze and then quietly handed him a piece of paper.

Ding Ze took the paper, glanced at it, and then put it in his pocket.

The paper contained detailed information about Westmoreland's daughter, Anna, as well as some things Westmoreland wanted to say to Anna.

“Mr. Ding, you’re probably leaving tonight, right?” Westmoreland spoke up after Ding Ze put away the papers.

Ding Ze nodded, "Yes, nothing can escape your eyes."

Westmoreland smiled. "Mr. Ding, you're exaggerating. I won't bother you any longer. Have a safe journey and may you never need to come to a place like this again."

"Haha, thank you," Ding Ze said with a smile.

Westmoreland said nothing more and got up to leave.

Another ten minutes passed.

Benjamin Franklin walked straight to Ding Ze and sat down in the spot where Westmoreland had sat not long ago.

Ding Ze was somewhat surprised by this.

He hadn't had any dealings with Franklin these past few days and was a little curious about why the guy had come to him.

“Mr. Ding,” Franklin said with a smile as soon as he sat down, “my name is Benjamin Franklin, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

"How happy are you?" Ding Ze didn't like this guy, in fact, he could say he hated him, so he asked with a smile.

"??????" Franklin was taken aback by this turn of events, paused for a moment, and then gave an awkward laugh. "Mr. Ding, you're quite humorous."

"Where's the humor?" Ding Ze asked, still smiling.

"??????" Franklin wasn't stupid. Ding Ze's reaction was clearly intentional, and he couldn't help but wonder, "Mr. Ding, is there some misunderstanding between us?"

Ding Ze laughed, "There's no misunderstanding, I just simply don't like you as a person."

As soon as these words came out.

Franklin had a bad temper to begin with, and because he used to be a soldier and was framed, he ended up here. He had always looked down on and despised Ding Ze and the other prisoners. Now, he couldn't laugh anymore. His expression immediately turned cold, and he was displeased.

"Mr. Ding, no matter how capable a person is, he is still just a person," Franklin said coldly, clearly annoyed. "Here, it's better to have one more friend than one more enemy. You should understand that."

Ding Ze smiled even more broadly, "Of course I understand, I just feel that you don't deserve to be my friend."

Hear the words.

Geek!

Franklin's expression changed drastically in an instant, his displeasure turning into anger. He then abruptly stood up, distancing himself from Ding Ze, wary of Ding Ze poisoning him. "Ding Ze, I know what you and Michael are planning."

"Guess what I'll find if I let the prison guards thoroughly search your cells?"

"Don't try to poison me, it won't work. I've already told my brothers everything I know. If anything happens to me, you're all finished too."

Franklin did intend to have a proper talk with Ding Ze before he came over.

As a result, Ding Ze adopted that attitude!

So, since reasoning with him didn't work, and even though he knew it was dangerous, Franklin instinctively chose to resort to force.

Done.

Franklin turned and left, convinced that Ding Ze would surely give in.

Will Ding Ze give in?

Ding Ze burst out laughing.

If he hadn't really wanted to leave this place and wasn't planning to do so tonight, and if it weren't inconvenient to cause trouble during the day, he would have wanted to kill that idiot Franklin.

"Franklin, you're such an idiot."

"Why did you come here to provoke me when you were perfectly fine?"

"And, you think you can just cause trouble and then leave? Are you trying to show off to me?"

"I think you want your wife Casey and daughter Didi dead."

-

The names Casey and Didi echoed in the air.

Instantly.

Franklin, who had his back to Ding Ze, trembled, then turned around in shock to look at Ding Ze.

Ding Ze knew this idiot's temper, and adhering to the principle of not causing trouble on the last day, he immediately smiled and said, "I know you're not very bright, and you're very angry right now. You probably want to kill me."

“I advise you not only not to do this, but you’d better kneel down immediately and beg me not to touch your wife and daughter.”

"Otherwise, your wife and daughter will die this afternoon!"

The voice reached my ears.

Franklin immediately lost all anger and made his choice decisively. His expression collapsed, his legs went weak, and he knelt down straight in front of Ding Ze.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I was wrong, I was an idiot, please let them go..." Franklin begged for mercy with a worried expression, almost crying.

This scene naturally attracted the attention of many prisoners nearby, as well as a prison guard not too far away outside the barbed wire fence.

"Hey, what are you doing?" the prison guard shouted when he saw them.

Ding Ze heard it.

Although it's satisfying to see Franklin, that idiot, kneeling and begging for mercy, if this continues, it'll attract the prison guards, which will be a real problem.

So, he smiled and said, "Since you've become a prisoner, stop thinking of yourself as a soldier and looking down on this and that all day long. Besides, when you were in the army, you were a coward who didn't dare to go to the front lines. What gives you the right to think you're superior to the prisoners here?"

"Get out! Don't ever show your face in front of me again!!!"

Franklin heard these words clearly and could hardly believe his ears. He couldn't understand how Ding Ze knew these things and was extremely shocked.

However, the shock was quickly replaced by an even stronger sense of worry.

"I'm the one who's sick, I'm the one who's sick!"

"Please, please spare my wife and daughter..."

Franklin's face was already wet with tears.

"Get out of here right now, and they'll be fine. Don't force me to change my mind," Ding Ze said with a smile, giving a definite answer.

"Okay, okay, I'll get out of here," Franklin finally stopped begging for mercy, hurriedly got up, and ran away with tears streaming down his face.

Watching Franklin flee into the distance, Ding Ze withdrew his gaze, smiled, and looked up at the sky. He suddenly realized that the feeling of easily controlling others with just a few words was truly damn satisfying!

******

Abruzzi, who had just finished making the phone call and was walking back towards Ding Ze to report the news, had clearly witnessed what had happened. He was genuinely surprised and curious, though he couldn't help but say it.

"Mr. Ding, everything is arranged. Your new identity will be in the car," Abruzzi reported back to Ding Ze.

"Okay, thanks."

“It’s what I should do,” Abruzzi replied respectfully, then hesitated for a moment before deciding to ask, “Mr. Ding, what did you say to C-note? Why is he crying like a woman?”

“He came to threaten me, and I reasoned with him, telling him that his actions would kill his wife and daughter, and that’s when he did it,” Ding Ze replied calmly.

Abruzzi was surprised to hear this.

What was shocking was not that Ding Ze threatened Franklin's wife and daughter, but that after yesterday, Franklin actually dared to come and threaten Ding Ze!
