Chapter 217 The Moonlit Conversation of Zicomo and His Two Men: Rock and Roll in the Wizarding World
The matter concerning Zicomo was just a minor incident; the ball continued as scheduled.
In the second half, Hogwarts even invited the famous wizarding band, the "Strange Sisters".
There are eight members in total, and all of them are featured on Chocolate Frog's wizard cards.
Interestingly, although their band is called "Weird Sisters," there isn't actually a single girl in it.
And they are a rock band.
It's quite rare for the wizarding world to accept things that have only emerged in the Muggle world in recent decades.
As the rousing music began, everyone danced along, enjoying the moment of revelry.
Of course, not everyone was fully focused.
For example, Ron is staring intently at Harry right now.
To be precise, he was staring at Harry's hand on Ginny's waist.
This seemingly indifferent siscon has his attention completely focused on Harry and Ginny tonight.
Because he wasn't paying attention, Ron had already stepped on his dance partner's feet several times.
His dance partner, Lavender, had no choice but to distance himself slightly from Ron.
It's only because Lavender has a crush on Ron that she's like this; otherwise, any other girl would have angrily dumped Ron long ago.
As for Harry, he was currently dancing happily with Ginny and didn't notice Ron's gaze.
Zicomo did see it.
He ultimately disliked the noisy environment of the dance floor, as did Hermione and Lani.
So after dancing for a while, the three of them left the center of the dance floor.
The three of them sat not far away, observing the dance floor and grabbing a bite to eat.
Zicomo happened to witness Ron stomping on Lavender several times.
Considering that Ron kept looking at Ginny not far away, it's not hard for Zicomo to deduce that Ron is a hidden siscon.
He told Hermione about it, which made Hermione giggle.
It's unclear whether she was laughing at Ron for kicking Lavender several times, or at Ron for being a siscon.
Just then, the twins suddenly appeared from somewhere and said in unison, "What are you laughing at? What's so funny? Tell us about it!"
Zicomo raised an eyebrow and recounted what had just happened.
The two brothers burst into laughter after hearing this.
They never expected that Ron, who usually didn't get along well with Ginny at home, would have this side to him.
They could use this to make fun of Ron for a year.
"Speaking of which, aren't you two afraid that Harry will take advantage of Ginny, or rather, that Harry will make a move on Ginny?" Zicomo asked.
He was curious about this, since Ginny was supposed to be the Weasleys' darling.
Why do these twins seem so unconcerned?
“Don’t worry, we know Harry, he’s not that kind of person,” George said. “We actually hope they can become a couple, after all, Mom seems to like Harry quite a bit.”
“Besides, Ginny is the smartest one in our family, so there’s no need to worry about her getting taken advantage of,” Fred added. “Boss, look closely, who’s in control right now?”
As he spoke, Fred pointed in Harry's direction.
Zicomo looked over and saw that Harry's movements were stiff and he seemed a little reserved; while Ginny was guiding Harry and leading the rhythm of their dance.
Seeing this, Zicomo smiled and shook his head.
Although the two brothers said that Ginny was the smartest in their family, they were no less so.
At least in terms of understanding things clearly, Ron is definitely not as good as them.
Otherwise, he wouldn't be staring blankly at Harry, completely unaware that the girl dancing with him has a crush on him.
The two brothers greeted Zicomo and then turned and went back to the dance floor.
They just came out for a drink; in such lively environments, they are often the ones who party until the very last moment.
Zicomo only stayed there for a short while before taking the two women out to enjoy the scenery.
Stepping out of the inner hall, there were a few scattered pairs of students outside.
Some of these people were tired from dancing in the dance hall and came out to rest, while others were couples who wanted to find a quiet environment to whisper sweet nothings to their loved ones.
Zicomo even saw a pair of boys huddled together in a secluded corner.
Indeed, sometimes having too good eyesight isn't a good thing.
Zicomo led the two women to an open-air balcony overlooking the entire venue and even offering a glimpse into the inner hall.
It was already high in the sky, and the bright moonlight shone on the earth, reflected by the snow on the ground.
The entire Hogwarts complex has a snow-covered feel to it.
The bustling dance hall below contrasted sharply with the quiet environment on the balcony.
The three enjoyed the tranquility of the moment. Hermione leaned against Zicomo, and Lani also leaned against him.
The little witch looked into the distance and sighed, "I really wish this moment could last a little longer."
Lani squinted and didn't speak, but she agreed with Hermione's idea.
The feeling of happiness from having her loved one by her side was intoxicating to her.
Zicomo reached out and embraced the two women, saying, "Don't worry that this beautiful moment will be fleeting; it will remain in our memories forever. Besides, with our lifespans, we have plenty of time to create many more beautiful moments in the future."
The two women smiled sweetly in Zicomo's arms.
Just then, the three of them suddenly saw Mrs. Maxim storm out of the ballroom, with Hagrid chasing after her.
Unfortunately, Hagrid was too bulky, and his legs weren't as long as Mrs. Maxim's.
So Hagrid did not catch up with Mrs. Maxim.
Hermione asked curiously, "What's wrong with them? Weren't they inseparable just a moment ago?"
“Who knows? Maybe Hagrid said something wrong?” Zicomo shrugged. “You know, the wizarding world is generally prejudiced against giants. I’ve heard that Mrs. Maxime is extremely averse to people talking about her half-giant identity.”
Hermione asked, "You mean, Hagrid might have mentioned it to Mrs. Maxime?"
Zicomo nodded and said, "Hmm, very likely."
Hermione sighed and said, "I really don't know why the wizarding world has more problems than a country with such a small population. It's all about discrimination and looking down on others. It's really hard to like them."
If the wizarding world remains like this, she would rather live in the Muggle world than stay in the wizarding world for long.
Zicomo ruffled Hermione's hair and said, "If you don't like it, then change it. Don't you want to be Minister for Magic? Once you become Minister for Magic, change everything you don't like."
As for the possibility that it cannot be changed, Zicomo never considered that possibility.
With him around, even if Hermione wanted to rule the wizarding world, Zicomo could help her ascend to the throne.
Not to mention that Hermione just wanted to change the status quo of the wizarding world.
In a few more years, Hermione will grow up a bit more.
Even without Zicomo's intervention, Hermione alone could suppress those who opposed her.
Hermione thought Zicomo's words made a lot of sense, and once she became Minister of Magic, she would definitely change the wizarding world into the way she wanted it to be.
Lani offered no comment; she genuinely had no interest in power.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have left such a large royal family like the Caria to his mother and come to accompany Zicomo to school.
Lani was more concerned about something else, and she asked Hermione, "Won't you be very busy as Minister for Magic?"
Hermione replied, "Probably, why?"
Lani said, "Wang and I made a promise to travel the world after graduation. I hope you won't hold us back."
Lani had considered that Hermione would be caught up in all sorts of busy work once she became Minister for Magic.
So much so that she didn't have time to travel the world with them, so that she could enjoy some time alone with Zicomo.
But Lani knew Zicomo's character well; he would never do something like abandoning Hermione and going on a long trip with her.
More likely, Zicomo will stay and help Hermione with her career, and then the three of them will travel together.
That's why Lani reminded Hermione of this; she didn't want Hermione to delay their plans.
Upon hearing this, Hermione didn't rush to answer Lani, but instead turned to look at Zicomo.
She feigned anger and asked, "Travel the whole world? Cousin, why didn't you tell me about this? Don't tell me you weren't planning to take me?"
Zicomo pinched Hermione's puffed-up cheek and said, "This is just an idea that Lani and I talked about by chance. There are no concrete plans yet."
Besides, we still have several years until graduation, so I wasn't in a rush to tell you.
Hermione breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that Zicomo did not intend to leave her behind.
The little witch then replied to Lani, "It's alright, if we can't fight, we'll go travel around the world first. When we come back, I'll become the Minister of Magic."
Lani nodded, as long as it didn't interfere with her and her king's world tour.
