He was worried about Harry's safety if he ran, but he was also worried about his identity being exposed if he didn't run.
So he could only follow silently behind Harry, trying to minimize his presence.
What he didn't know was that Zicomo recognized him as an Animagus the moment he saw him.
With a little deduction, he knew exactly who the big dog in front of him was.
After all, the Ministry of Magic just published Sirius Black's bounty in the Daily Prophet this morning.
“Oh, I almost forgot about him. His name is Regulus, and he’s my new friend,” Harry introduced.
“Regulus, a good name.” Zicomo looked at Sirius meaningfully and said, “Does he have an older brother named Sirius?”
Sirius knew something was wrong from the look in Zicomo's eyes, until Zicomo said his name.
In an instant, he felt his heart stop, and the next instant he turned and ran outside.
Zicomo waved his hand, instantly binding him in mid-air.
Harry was a little confused, but seeing that Zicomo didn't intend to harm 'Regulus', he didn't rush to have Zicomo untie him.
He trusted Zicomo more than the dog he had only known for two days.
“Zicomo, is there a problem with Regulus? And who is Sirius?” Harry asked.
"You can ask Professor Snape about these questions. Professor Snape, there's a dog over here claiming to be your former colleague."
Zicomo's last sentence was clearly addressed to Snape.
The moment Harry uttered the name Regulus, it caught Snape's attention.
Snape remembered this name; as one of his arch-enemies' brothers, he had joined Voldemort's ranks just like him.
Because of Sirius, he didn't like Regulus very much, but he had heard a little about his mysterious death.
No one knows exactly how he died; it is said that he was secretly executed by Voldemort.
When Zicomo looked at the big black dog and said the name Sirius, Snape had a guess.
That was his former nemesis, Sirius Black.
Because he knew that Zikomo usually wouldn't speak without a purpose.
Seeing the big black dog's intense reaction after hearing Zicomo's words, Snape became even more certain of his guess.
Seeing that Zicomo had subdued the big black dog, Snape put down his cue and slowly walked over.
He looked at Harry and said, "Regulus was a member of the Black family. He was once loyal to Voldemort and died mysteriously fifteen years ago."
"And he also has an older brother named Sirius Black."
"Later, he was arrested by the Ministry of Magic and imprisoned in Azkaban for blowing up 12 Muggles on a street. By the way, it's rumored that he was the one who informed Voldemort, which led to the deaths of your parents."
“A few days ago, he escaped from Azkaban and his whereabouts are currently unknown.”
At this point, Zicomo thoughtfully handed Harry a copy of the Daily Prophet.
Harry took the newspaper and saw a disheveled, thin, and haggard face that seemed somewhat familiar to him.
Below the newspaper was his bounty, worth ten thousand Galleons.
The image in the newspaper reminded Harry of the big black dog he had seen a few days earlier.
They were both thin and haggard.
Harry recalled Professor McGonagall's transformation during his first Transfiguration class.
He also thought of the existence of Animagus.
But he could hardly believe that the big black dog in front of him, which he had gotten along well with these past two days, was actually an accomplice in the murder of his parents, and even a murderer.
"Are you really Sirius?" Harry asked, looking at the big black dog.
Sirius Black, who had been glaring fiercely at Snape, lowered his head in shame upon hearing Harry's question, avoiding eye contact with Harry.
"Whether it's Sirius or not, we'll find out by trying."
Zicomo pointed a finger and chanted the incantation against Animagus.
The large black dog in front of him began to twist and quickly transformed into a gaunt middle-aged man.
This is Sirius Black. Compared to his unkempt appearance in the newspaper, he looked relatively neat after spending two days tidying up at the Dursleys' house.
Looking at that face, Harry finally remembered why Sirius looked familiar.
He recognized the face; it was in the album of photos of his parents that Hagrid had given him.
There's a photo in the album of his parents' wedding, where Sirius was the best man, standing next to James.
Zicomo glanced at Draco, who was watching the scene unfold behind him, and teased, "Draco, aren't you going to say hello to your uncle?"
"My uncle?" Draco never expected to be caught up in the gossip himself.
"Yes, Sirius Black?"
Draco shook his head repeatedly; he had no desire to get involved with a wanted criminal from the Ministry of Magic.
At this point, Harry finally accepted the fact that the big black dog was Sirius Black.
Thinking of his parents' tragic deaths, he rushed forward, grabbed Sirius's clothes, and loudly questioned him.
"Why did you lie to me? Why did you betray my parents? You murderer!"
Sirius Black did not answer Harry's question, nor did he refute that he had betrayed the Potters.
In his view, Harry's parents' deaths were indeed partly his responsibility.
If he hadn't suggested changing the Secretkeeper, perhaps Harry's parents wouldn't have died.
Seeing that Sirius didn't speak, Harry loosened his collar and instead grabbed him by the neck.
He asked angrily while exerting force, "Are you approaching me now because you want to kill me for your master Voldemort?"
Sirius was bound by Zicomo and unable to resist, nor did he intend to.
He managed to utter a few words with difficulty: "I...didn't...want...to...kill you."
“You’re lying!” Harry roared, his expression furious.
Zicomo watched in amazement, sometimes truly admiring Harry's thought process.
I don't know what Harry is thinking. If Sirius really wanted to kill him, not to mention anything else, there were countless opportunities to do so on the way to Granger's house.
But now is not the time to think about these things. If he doesn't stop Harry's actions, Sirius will be strangled to death.
“Alright, Harry. Let’s get him out of there,” Zicomo said.
Harry's anger subsided slightly, and he released his hands, only then realizing what he had just done.
He quickly thanked Zicomo.
If Zicomo hadn't stopped him, he might have killed someone just now.
Zicomo waved his hand and said, "Let me ask."
Harry nodded and stepped aside to let Zicomo step forward.
Upon seeing Zicomo, the one who exposed him, Sirius looked up at him and said, "I won't say anything. Do with me as you please."
Zicomo chuckled upon hearing this.
What's with that expression of him about to make a heroic sacrifice?
These Westerners like to do things this way; they want to shoulder everything themselves and don't talk about it when problems arise.
The same thing happens in American comics next door; a problem that the Powerpuff Girls could solve in ten minutes takes these superheroes two whole hours to resolve.
Chapter 119 Harry learns about Snape's past and arrives in the royal city of Rhodes.
"Judging from your resentful look, there must be something you haven't done yet, right? Why don't you say it?" Zicomo said slowly.
“What’s the point of saying it? Nobody will believe it anyway,” Sirius said.
"How do you know if others will believe you if you don't tell them? Those who died wanted to leave a last message, so why can't you just state your purpose?"
"Okay, if I said I didn't kill those twelve people, would you believe me?"
“I believe it, just as I believe a mouse cannot live for more than a decade.” Zikomo made a pointed remark.
Sirius's pupils contracted sharply, and he said tremblingly, "-You, you know?"
Before Zikomo could answer, he muttered to himself, "That's right, if you can find my Animagus, you can certainly find his too."
"So, can you tell us the truth about what happened back then?" Zicomo asked.
Sirius sighed, a look of reminiscence flashing in his eyes, and slowly revealed the truth of what happened back then.
No one expected that the person who kept the secret back then wasn't Sirius Black, but the most inconspicuous little dwarf?
He later blew up an entire street of people, pinned the crime on Sirius Black, and faked his own death to escape.
"Then why didn't you defend yourself in court?" Harry couldn't help but ask.
"No matter what, I bear some responsibility for James and Lily's deaths. If I hadn't suggested changing the Secretkeeper, they wouldn't have been killed by Voldemort. I'm sorry to them." Sirius's words were full of remorse.
The Black family seems to have a pattern where different family members use it for different pursuits.
