"How did this place become such a mess?"
He scratched his head and looked around.
Broken houses.
Cracked ground.
A rift creature ablaze.
An old pair of shorts, half-buried in the soil.
"Did I go to the wrong place?"
Yan, puzzled, pulled out the Heavenly Fire Greatsword, killed the rift creature that attempted to attack him with a single strike, and then wandered around.
"Hey hey hey, is anyone there!" he shouted.
With a casual swing of the Heavenly Fire Greatsword, a large group of Rift Creatures charging from the side instantly turned to ashes.
He continued to move forward silently.
I vaguely remember that he was standing at this intersection, surrounded by a group of people watching him drive a tractor.
Yan squatted down and stroked the marks on the ground.
If you look closely, you can still see the tire tracks left by the tractor.
But it seems like it's been quite a few years.
Just as Yan stood up, preparing to continue the search, he heard footsteps behind him.
A girl's voice came through.
"Huh? How come there's someone else here? Stop! Don't move! I've never seen you before. Are you a homeless person?"
Yan slowly turned around.
The person who called out to him was a long-haired woman. She wore a long, bluish-purple dress and had a long red ribbon tied into a bow on her arm.
She carried a sickle and acted extremely arrogantly.
When Yan saw her, his first reaction was shock:
"Ouch, your pants are so short, aren't you cold?"
The young girl frowned slightly:
"Come on, this is the lower level. Some miners even sleep on the ground. Besides, with the protection of fate, I don't feel cold at all."
“But you,” the girl raised her large scythe and pointed it at Yan, “who in their right mind would stare at pants?”
Mr. Yan was greatly alarmed:
"You actually discovered my secret!"
"Heh, you're quite amusing. But for a wanderer like you to remain so calm in front of me is truly admirable."
"who are you?"
"What? You don't even recognize me, Seele? I'm a key combatant in the Earthfire."
Xier's gaze toward Yan became increasingly strange.
"Oh, I see. You're from the Upper District too, right?"
"You little rascal, you caught me again," Yan said shyly.
"..."
Seele silently observed Yan's attire, becoming even more certain:
"Heh, look at these clothes, they must have cost a lot of money."
Yan immediately reached into the corner of his clothes and pulled out a price tag.
"This is a fake product I bought on Pinduoduo. It only cost 99 credits and shipping was free. Look at how well it's made. Doesn't it look really expensive and cool?"
Seele peeked at the price tag and immediately nodded: "Wow, the imitation is really good. I thought it would be expensive. But why don't you take the price tag off? Wouldn't it be easy to tell that it's a fake?"
Upon hearing this, Yan thought it made sense, so he quickly tore down the price tag and threw it hard on the ground.
He even stomped on it a few times, saying, "You're right."
Xi'er: "..."
Yan: "Alright, now there's no more evidence that this is a counterfeit."
Xi'er: "..."
Suddenly, Xi'er noticed the gold pocket watch sticking out of Yan's pocket.
"Wow, you even have a gold watch? Could it be a fake too?" Seele asked suspiciously.
"You're such a clever little devil, you've found out again."
Yan shyly took out his pocket watch and showed it to Xi'er.
The pointers don't move at all.
He knocked on it, making a tinkling sound.
"Actually, it's just been coated with a layer of gold lacquer, but if I don't open this pocket watch, no one will be able to tell it's fake, right?"
Seele nodded, and said disdainfully:
"Yeah, why are you so vain? If you can't afford it, don't buy it. Why do you have to use fakes? Wouldn't it be even more embarrassing if you got caught?"
"Who says I can't afford it?" Yan said disdainfully. "Clothes are just for show. Since I can make a good impression with cheaper clothes, why do I have to use expensive ones? Do you think my money grows on trees?"
Hearing this, Seele chuckled dismissively.
"Isn't that how the upper class is? To show that they are superior, they have to leave food uneaten when they go to a restaurant. To show their elegance and taste, they buy flashy but impractical bags. Ironically, some of the genuine ones are made of paper and are of worse quality than the fakes."
"You seem to harbor quite a grudge against those in power," Yan said in shock.
Seele snorted:
"Otherwise what? Since the upper and lower districts were sealed off, what kind of lives have the lower-class people been living? The upper-class people must be living much more comfortably than us country folk."
"Yeah, they're really awful. I've disliked them for a long time."
Yan clenched his fists and echoed.
"When the lockdown is lifted one day, I, Yan, will make those bastards in the upper district pay the price."
Seele nodded, quite satisfied.
"Not bad, not bad, very energetic."
Yan immediately went to Xier's side and continued:
"Hmph, I, Yan, am determined to be at odds with the upper echelons. Have you seen my two teammates and that little girl with the triple turbocharged duck?"
"Huh? You know those three?" Seele asked, puzzled.
Those three seem to have been brought by Sambo.
"Hey, you're not some spy sent by the higher-ups to lie to me, are you?" Seele asked suspiciously.
"I'm innocent!" Yan cried out like a startled rabbit, "Sir, I was forced into this, please listen to me..."
……
Lower area.
Panyan Town.
Xi'er brought Yan here.
Along the way, Xi'er listened to Yan's experiences and was so angry that she gritted her teeth.
"Damn the High Guardian! Knowing you come from the Lower District, he still made you an Executor to torment you!"
"Yes, yes." Yan cried softly, wiping away tears from the corners of her eyes with a handkerchief.
"She even made me treat those Iron Guards, or she'd spank me! Waaaaah!"
At this point, Yan cried even louder.
He lay on the ground, crying incoherently.
When the residents of Panyan Town passed by and saw this, they began to whisper among themselves.
"Who is that? A grown man lying on the ground crying, isn't he ashamed?"
"How can you assume his gender? What if he's a woman?"
"Hmm, he looks so familiar, Cruze. Don't you think that person looks a lot like the doctor your wife met a few years ago?"
Noticing that Yan's actions had attracted the attention of those around him, Xi'er quickly pulled him up from the ground:
"Damn, are you serious? Stop crying, it's good that you're back, it's good that you're back."
Seele didn't know how to comfort people, so she just tried to soothe them.
"Waaaaah!! I'm sworn enemies with them!!" Yan cried even louder.
At this time.
A young girl dressed in the uniform of the Silver Mane Iron Guard commander walked towards them, with three long strands of silver curly hair cascading down her back.
She looked uncertainly at Yan Huan, who was lying on the ground crying uncontrollably.
He said blankly:
"Executive Officer Yan Huan, is that you? Why are you crying? What were you just saying about being irreconcilably opposed to?"
"Huh?" Yan looked up abruptly.
The crying stopped.
