Harvin's guilty conscience was obvious to any normal person, let alone the shrewd Granger.
"Honey, how could you kiss a boy like that?"
Ms. Granger asked her youngest daughter in a tone of exasperation, like someone whose cotton-padded coat was leaking air.
Hermione blushed instantly.
It's all Harvey's fault! How did they manage to find out about the kiss?
She stammered, "Mom...when did you arrive?"
Ms. Granger said irritably, "While you were kissing!"
The two children immediately adopted a guilty look, lowering their heads and trying to make themselves as inconspicuous as possible.
"Child, come out with me first."
Ms. Granger called Harvey out of her daughter's room.
In the second-floor corridor, Ms. Granger earnestly lectured Harvey on how early romantic relationships could interfere with his studies.
They even laid down three rules, like not being allowed to eat forbidden fruit before adulthood, and so on...
Harvey seemed to have returned to the time when he was a child and his teacher would pull his ear and scold him. He listened to what Ms. Granger said in one ear and let it go in the other, just nodding pretending to listen.
After reprimanding Harvey, Mrs. Granger told him to go back to his guest room to rest, while she herself went into her daughter's room with a serious expression.
Harvey deliberately slowed his pace and soon heard Hermione's loud, shrill explanation coming from inside the room.
"Mom, what are you saying... I didn't take my clothes off... I wasn't lied to... I just... I just..."
Hearing this, Harvey felt a pang of emotion. It seemed that he had already gained a place in Hermione's heart; she had even started lying to her mother.
The following day, due to the existence of the three-point agreement.
Harvey was strictly forbidden from approaching Hermione's room.
So the two children could only sit in the living room every day, staring at each other on the surface, but secretly exchanging magical insights.
Neither of them wanted Mrs. Granger to discover their little secret about magic.
The peaceful atmosphere in the Grangers' home was completely shattered on July 1st when two letters delivered by owls arrived.
This morning.
The Grangers were having breakfast at the table, with Harvey, who never missed a meal, nearby.
Sudden.
A gasp came from the second floor of the villa, drawing everyone's attention.
Granger's father, dressed in a white dentist's uniform, ate rather quickly because he only had half an hour before going to work.
He looked up and listened carefully, thinking he had misheard, so he ignored it and continued to eat the bacon and whole wheat bread in front of him.
Granger's mother, who wasn't deaf, glared at Harvey with reproach after hearing her daughter's cry, assuming the child had played another prank.
There hasn't been a peaceful day at home these past few days. Harvey and Hermione are always acting mysteriously and doing who-knows-what.
Harvey, however, put on an innocent look and assured the Grangers, "I have absolutely not provoked her recently!"
"Really? Good children never lie."
Granger's father, realizing he hadn't been hallucinating, asked with some skepticism.
Actually, he quite liked the child. After learning that Harvey was an orphan, he generously allowed Harvey to stay at his home.
But now, Granger's father is wondering if his decision was too hasty.
Clearly, Harvey's innocent gaze did not earn the Grangers' trust.
He lowered his head, just about to admit his mistake and confess that he had secretly stolen Hermione's dentures.
But then came the sound of hurried footsteps in the stairwell.
The Grangers turned to look, and Hermione, wearing a pink plaid dress, ran up to them excitedly, her cheeks flushed, holding two letters.
"Mom and Dad, look! This is the Hogwarts acceptance letter!"
Upon hearing this, Harvey couldn't help but feel excited. Didn't the two letters mean that he also had a chance to attend Hogwarts?
“Hogwarts? I’ve never heard of that high school.” The Grangers exchanged a puzzled look.
Granger's father picked up one of the letters.
The envelope was made of parchment, and the recipient's name was written in bright green ink: "8 Heathgate Street, London, second floor, north room, Harvey Ferguson".
The envelope was printed with a school emblem in bright red paint, consisting of four lifelike animals: a lion, a snake, an eagle, and a badger, surrounding a capital "H".
Chapter 6: Visitors from Another World?
Upon opening the envelope, the contents read:
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore (Sir Merlin, First Class, Chief Wizard of Wizengamor, President of the International Confederation of Wizards...)
Dear Mr. Harvey Ferguson:
We are pleased to inform you that you have been admitted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Enclosed is a list of the required books and items.
The new semester begins on September 1st.
We eagerly await your reply from the owl before July 31st.
[From Vice Principal Minerva McGonagall]
Granger's father was silent for a moment, then casually tossed the envelope onto the table and said nonchalantly:
"This must be a prank from some TV prank show. How could there possibly be a magic school in the world?"
Seeing that the envelope was stained with grease from the table, Hermione felt a pang of heartache and quickly picked it up. While wiping it clean with a napkin, she explained very earnestly:
“It really is magic, Dad! I saw Harvey run out of a portal with my own eyes!”
Harvey couldn't resist his curiosity and picked up another letter that was on the dining table to take a look.
Sure enough, this was the Hogwarts acceptance letter.
However, this letter is for Hermione; the letter that belongs to her should be in Hermione's possession.
So he decisively exchanged envelopes with Hermione, opened the letter, and began to read it carefully.
Granger's mother was quite helpless when she saw the two children holding a letter and laughing foolishly as they read it.
"Children, although the truth can be hurtful, magic only exists in fairy tales; it's not real."
Granger's father adopted a stern expression, saying, "You two hurry up and finish your breakfast and go study. Eton College is the best school for you!"
Harvey leaned close to Hermione and whispered, "Hey, looks like your parents don't believe in magic. Are you going to prove them right?"
Hermione's delicate, downy ears became sensitive to Harvey's warm breath as he spoke, and she quickly turned away to keep her distance.
"I can't even demonstrate the simplest fluorescent flashing, how can I prove it?"
“Ding—dong!”
Just then, the doorbell rang at the villa.
Granger's mother told her two children to continue eating their breakfast quietly, and then she quickly walked out of the restaurant to see which guest had come to visit.
A short while later, Granger's mother, her face filled with surprise and uncertainty, led an elegant lady in a dark green robe and square-framed gold-rimmed glasses into the restaurant.
The tall woman was the first to greet Harvey and Hermione.
"Greetings, young wizards. I am Professor Minerva McGonagall, the Vice-Headmistress of Hogwarts."
Then she looked at the Grangers: "You two must be the parents of the young wizard, hello."
"I came here specifically to answer Muggle families' questions about school acceptance letters."
Granger's mother politely replied, "Hello, Professor McGonagall," before quietly whispering in her husband's ear about the amazing experience she had just had.
"I just witnessed this woman, who claims to be a professor at a magic school, turn a stool into a short-tailed white cat!"
Granger's father turned to look at his wife with a surprised expression. "Are you sure you're not seeing things?"
Granger's mother insisted that she was absolutely certain she hadn't made a mistake.
Professor McGonagall saw the Grangers whispering to each other, and calmly stood there, sizing up the two young wizards, Harvey and Hermione.
However, she focused most of her attention on Harvey.
Logically speaking, there's absolutely no need for her, the busy vice-principal, to be involved when ordinary Muggle wizards enroll.
But she still came.
The reason is that the name of a visitor from another world has appeared in the Book of Admission!
This unusual phenomenon caught the attention of Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, who then specially sent Professor McGonagall to pick up the two young wizards and enroll them in school.
As is widely known, the Book of Admission is a magical book kept in a small, locked tower at Hogwarts that no student has ever set foot in.
It is made of parchment with a black dragon skin cover.
When a young wizard first shows signs of magic, the Pen of Acceptance, made from a phoenix tail feather, automatically rises from the silver ink bottle and attempts to write the young wizard's name into the Book of Admission.
However, due to various complex reasons such as region, the young wizard's magical talent, and family background, etc.
Ultimately, only young wizards deemed suitable for Hogwarts will have their Admissions Book allowed to continue writing by the Pen of Acceptance.
Three weeks ago, a little wizard's name suddenly appeared in the Book of Admission.
Logically speaking, this is not surprising, as hundreds of students are qualified to enter Hogwarts every year.
But the key point is that the prefix of this little wizard's name is a string of random characters called "EUR??%^&"!
This unusual phenomenon was noticed by the portraits of the past Hogwarts headmasters that were always on the wall next to the Book of Admission, and was immediately reported to Headmaster Albus Dumbledore.
Headmaster Dumbledore became intensely curious about this unusual string of gibberish, and after checking the Book of Admission and finding no problems, he...
He searched for three whole days in the vast Hogwarts library, finally finding an explanation for this strange gibberish in an adventure book by Gilderoy Lockhart.
In 1969, when the United States landed on the moon for the first time.
Gilderoy Lockhart, an adventurer and curious about outer space, secretly sneaks into the heavy rocket launch bay of Apollo 11 and flies out of Earth with the two astronauts.
