American Comics Universe: I, the Containment Object Revealed at the Start

I still see this compound in quite a few abandoned medical facilities. Holy tears can purify the sins of the unclean and make them love God; at least that's what it says.

The records I retrieved contained very vague accounts of this war, except for the claim that "'His' chosen saints crossed the land of sin, leading sinners to face their own sins. Those who resisted 'His' love were purified by his radiance."

However, something seems to have happened that no one knows how to solve. The Unclean are enormous, half-humanoid creatures that devour everything they encounter that lives and breathes.

In fact, I found a research report written by someone who stumbled upon this place. Those creatures were the result of being exposed to extremely high purity of God's Tears, leading to severe genetic mutations.

There are some technical terms involved, like quantum recombination, which I don't understand at all, but it means they were once humans just like us. They can't be controlled, but they can be contained.

They seem to be drawn to the Tears of the Gods, so a center is set up in the center of each region, where a person stays with the purest Tears of the Gods, keeping the unclean ones in the region known as the Depleted Lands.
