Mystery: A Spark

After hearing Arthur's words, Frank was immediately delighted, feeling that his research had gained even greater significance.
"That's right. Species hybridization technology can create special species, such as cows that can grow out of the ground like wheat."
"This technology can be used to solve the food problem, and there will be far fewer people going hungry in the future."
……
Outside Frank's laboratory, Cattleya stood quietly, listening to the conversation inside.
"Don't you trust them?" A gentle voice came from behind her.
“Your Majesty.” Cattleya turned around and bowed.
Bernadette stared intently into the room, her gaze seemingly able to penetrate the thin door and see into the room.
She said calmly, "They are trying to do something that can change the world."
Cattleya asked doubtfully, "Your Majesty, you seem to have a lot of confidence in them?"
“Yes, I have confidence in them,” Bernadette said firmly.
“But can Frank really do something like that? He’s always only been able to come up with strange things that make my ship… make the crops change according to his ideas. It’s incredible.” Cattleya felt that this was completely wishful thinking.
In her view, this matter involves the realm of creation, and it is impossible for a Sequence Six "biologist" to do such a thing.
Moreover, judging from Frank's previous achievements, none of his works have ever been without problems.
“Before my father changed the world, who in the world would have believed that humans could create a machine that could move on its own without the participation of extraordinary abilities?” Bernadette asked gently.
“But the Emperor is different. And machines are inanimate objects, while what they want to do has already begun to dabble in the realm of creation,” Cattleya retorted with some disbelief.
“It’s all the same.” Bernadette looked quietly at the scene in the room and didn’t say anything more.
Are they all the same? Cattleya looked at Bernadette, then at the room, looking somewhat bewildered.
The conversation inside the room continued.
"So, will the special species you want to create need to be cared for by extraordinary beings?" Arthur asked.
“Uh… of course, are we going to let ordinary people take care of this special and extraordinary species?” Frank said, somewhat puzzled.
“No, you don’t understand. Those who can truly change the world are precisely the ordinary people without extraordinary abilities,” Arthur said, shaking his finger in a profound and enigmatic manner.
"Do you know how many extraordinary people there are in this world?" he asked, tapping lightly on the table.
“Uh… several thousand? Tens of thousands? To be honest, I don’t really understand this,” Frank shook his head and replied.
Arthur didn't really want to ask for specific numbers; he was just trying to get to the next topic.
"Even if it's tens of thousands, do you know how many times more ordinary people there are than extraordinary people?"
"Ten times? More than a hundred times." Arthur said confidently without waiting for Frank's reply.
"But although they are numerous, they don't have any supernatural abilities," Frank said, somewhat puzzled.
“No, you don’t understand. Even if you can cultivate all sorts of magical creatures, how much food can you produce to feed how many people?” Arthur stood up and said condescendingly.
"Frank, you are just one person, and not all the extraordinary people in the world can go and take care of your crops."
“However, these special species that I’ve researched require the supervision of extraordinary individuals, otherwise... uh... strange things will happen,” Frank said, somewhat embarrassed.
"Yes, that's why I advised you to give up your research on this particular species, because they are unlikely to change the world."
Arthur stood before Frank, negating the achievement he had always been so proud of, and then quickly continued:
"But what would it bring you if you could cultivate a high-yield crop that ordinary people could grow, with a short growth cycle, and that could adapt to various extreme environments?"
His fingers tapped forcefully on the table, making his words more powerful and persuasive:
"At that time, the seeds of this crop will spread throughout the world, and all the land in the world will be planted with the food crop that you have researched. The Church of the Mother Goddess will become the largest church."
“From Rune to Intis, from Fussac to Byron, people all over the land will call your name, and you will become Saint Frank!”
Arthur waved his arms and spoke with a strong, resounding voice.
"But... can I do it?" Frank asked incredulously.
"Of course you can, believe in yourself. Next, I'll explain to you what real hybridization technology is..."
Outside the door, Gadriya was completely bewildered. She felt that either she was going crazy, or the two people inside were.
If the goal is simply to develop a semi-uncontrolled, high-yield crop that only extraordinary individuals can manage, then that would be fine, since it seems somewhat reasonable.
Given Frank's previous record, he might have a chance to succeed if he's lucky.
But now Arthur is saying that those kinds of species are all garbage, and that we should research a high-yield crop that ordinary people can grow, that has a short growth cycle, and that can adapt to all kinds of extreme environments.
These bizarre words led her to believe that Arthur must have eaten something Frank gave him that had damaged his brain.
Most importantly, her queen listened to the conversation between the two people inside without finding anything unusual at all.
This made her feel that either she or the people around her had a problem.
Just as she was about to push the door open and go in to clear the minds of the two people inside who had started talking nonsense.
A gentle voice came from behind her: "Don't disturb them, it's a good thing."
Cattleya turned to Bernadette and said, "Your Majesty, I just feel this is a bit..."
“Don’t worry, they’re not crazy. You’ve had a long day, go home and rest,” Bernadette said.
"Well... alright then," Gadriya said with a hint of helplessness.
As she turned to leave, she suddenly sensed a sacred aura emanating from the room.
She stopped in her tracks, turned around and looked at the closed laboratory door, momentarily stunned.
When she came to her senses and realized what had happened, she asked in surprise, "The aura of a true god!?"
Chapter 43 The Great Road Begins Here
"The traits of an organism are controlled by a special kind of hereditary factor, which I call a gene. It can..."
Inside Frank's lab, Arthur was explaining to Frank the biology he had learned in high school, using language more in line with the times, while Frank was engrossed in writing.
Frank had never been so excited. He felt that what he had learned today would allow him to access a completely new field that he had never reached before.
Some questions that he couldn't understand during his previous research were readily answered after Arthur's explanation.
"Genes are generally divided into dominant and recessive types, which control the expression of different traits in organisms. Therefore, we can..."
Frank was taking notes diligently when he suddenly heard Arthur's voice stop.
He looked up in confusion and found the entire room bathed in a sacred light. Frank was stunned and murmured, "Mother Goddess..."
After a moment of stunned silence, Frank finally came to his senses. He drew a simple symbol of life on his chest, then stretched out his arms and whispered a prayer:
"Thank you, source of life!"
Praise be to you, Mother of all things!
……
"Whoo~"
The divine light in the room slowly faded, and Arthur let out a long breath. He glanced at the newly appeared Earth Mother emblem on the back of his right hand and muttered to himself:
"Goodness, one on each side, now they're symmetrical."
Just now, as he was explaining biological genes to Frank, he suddenly found himself being gazed upon by a divine and loving gaze.
The gaze came from the Earth Mother Goddess, expressing the favor of the true god, which Arthur naturally accepted without hesitation.
Just kidding, that's Lilith, the Earth Mother Goddess, a powerful figure among the Seven Great Gods, the winner of the Battle of Twilight, truly the oldest coin among the oldest.
With such a golden opportunity presented to him, Arthur naturally wouldn't let it pass, and he embraced it without hesitation.
Frank stood up, bowed, and said respectfully, "Your Excellency, the Chosen One."
Arthur smiled and returned the greeting, saying, "Your Excellency, we can just do what we did before; there's no need for so much formality."
Frank laughed immediately. He wasn't exactly the kind of person who followed the rules, otherwise he wouldn't have caused so much trouble in the Church of the Mother Goddess.
Frank asked, "So, shall we continue?"
Arthur shook his head and said, "Theory is just theory; it only points you in a direction. What matters most afterward is the research you conduct."
He only suggested a direction, which is more like an inspiration. The specific experimental operations should naturally be carried out by professionals.
Besides, he doesn't have much knowledge left, since he didn't specialize in this before.
So Arthur simply imparted some of the conceptual knowledge he had learned to him; the rest was up to Frank to continue his research.
In other words, he couldn't keep up the act any longer, so he had to make a quick getaway.
Frank was a little disappointed, but seeing the notebook filled with writing on the table, he immediately cheered up again.
He said excitedly:
"Arthur, I feel like I've got a lot of new inspiration. I'm sure I'll successfully develop that high-yield crop you mentioned. Wait for my good news!"
"Okay, good luck. Also, remember that this crop should be easy for ordinary people to manage; don't stray from that original intention," Arthur advised finally.
“Okay, I’ll definitely remember that,” Frank assured, patting his chest.
Seeing Frank's energized state, Arthur walked out of the laboratory feeling somewhat guilty.
As soon as Arthur opened the door, he found Cattleya and Bernadette, a mother and daughter, standing outside.
Arthur turned and closed the laboratory door, feigning ignorance as he asked, "Ladies, what are you doing here?"
Bernadette looked at Arthur quietly without saying a word.
Caldelia replied, "Mr. Arthur, I came to check on Frank because I was a little worried about him. After all, he sometimes does some rather strange things."
"I was a bit reckless this time, I'm sorry," Arthur said apologetically.
He hadn't thought about this problem at first, but when he went outside and saw Cattleya, he realized that he had been causing trouble on someone else's ship and had been caught red-handed, which made him blush.
"It's alright. Since nothing happened this time, I'll go back and rest now. Mr. Arthur, you should rest early too." Cattleya glanced at Bernadette, then said goodbye to Arthur and left.
None of the three mentioned the divine aura that had just appeared, as if nothing had happened.
After Cattleya left, Bernadette finally spoke, "Do you know what the consequences of what you just did are?"
“I know, but what’s wrong with that?” Arthur smiled at her and asked in return.
