He did a quick calculation. With his current power of incantations, it wouldn't be difficult for the sword to carry the weight of a person to supersonic speeds, but... given his physical abilities, it would be impossible for him to stand firmly on a supersonic sword.

Is there any way to solve this problem...?

"Mingfei! Come quick!" Tony's voice rang out from outside, filled with obvious anxiety.

"What's wrong?" Lu Mingfei rushed over.

“It’s Ivan Vanko, the lunatic who attacked me at the racetrack,” Tony said. “He just called me and said he’s going to get revenge on me. Looks like someone got him out of jail.”

"Do you know where he is?" Lu Mingfei asked.

“I had Jarvis track his signal,” Tony said, “but it could only pinpoint the area around Manhattan.”

"This area is too large," Lu Mingfei frowned.

“But I discovered that there was a weapons demonstration by arms dealer Justin Hammer in that area. Hammer Arms became a major partner of the military after I withdrew from the arms business,” Tony said. “And coincidentally, the weapon he was going to demonstrate this time was a group of intelligent autonomous combat robots equipped with reactors.”

"Do you think he can replicate your reactor?" Lu Mingfei asked.

“Possibly,” Tony said, “but it will be fifty years from now.”

“That must have been him,” Lu Mingfei said. “He helped Ivan escape from prison, and in return, Ivan built him an intelligent combat robot equipped with a reactor.”

“It might not have been built for him,” Tony strode over to the new element reactor on the test rack, picked it up, and said, “Let’s go there.”

……

Night, in mid-air.

The Iron Man suit, equipped with a new reactor, has a significantly increased power output and a much higher flight speed than usual.

Beside him, under the moonlight, a long, dazzling silver streak cast a long afterimage.

Although the situation was urgent, Tony couldn't help but turn his head to look at the "sword formation" not far away.

At the very center of the "sword formation," twenty flying swords interlocked and merged at Lu Mingfei's feet, forming a massive, wide sword.

Surrounding Lu Mingfei and the giant sword were countless flying swords that coalesced into a barrier. The gaps between these flying swords were extremely small, and Lu Mingfei standing among them felt as if he were standing in a supersonic fighter jet.

With the flying sword in front of him shielding him from the wind, Lu Mingfei was finally able to stand firmly.

In this state, his flight speed is no less than Tony's.

I guess you could call this a cosplay of a sword immortal's flight on a sword? Even if it's a basic version...

Lu Mingfei thought to himself, "This is what I'm thinking."

“This thing is so cool!” Tony exclaimed.

Although most of the flying swords are now used to shield Lu Mingfei from the wind, making the "sword formation" seem somewhat simple and unadorned, Tony had seen how the flying swords swirled around Lu Mingfei when he had just taken off and hadn't started accelerating yet.

Although Tony, as an American, did not understand the concept of "sword immortals," he had witnessed the grand spectacle surrounding Lu Mingfei.

"Stop talking, I already regret not wearing the Iron Man suit!" Lu Mingfei complained, standing on the giant sword.

He underestimated the difficulty of supersonic flight. Although he wouldn't fall off, maintaining his upright position on the sword at such high speeds was not an easy task.

But Tony was right next to him, so no matter how badly he felt, he had to stay upright and not give in.

The Iron Man suit has a recording function. If he dares to lie on the flying sword, Tony will definitely record his embarrassing moments.

"The Hammer Industries exhibition is just ahead!" Tony said.

An open-air domed building was right in front of them; that was their target.

"You go first! I'll slow down!" Lu Mingfei shouted.

Chapter 64. I really didn't mean to screw over my teammates!

Hammer Military Industry Exhibition, Main Hall.

Justin Hammer stood in the center, with rows of mechanical soldiers rising from the stage behind him.

Amidst gasps of amazement from the audience and a barrage of flashes from reporters, Justin Hammer continued to host the exhibition.

“While these automated combat soldiers represent state-of-the-art technology and revolutionary advancements, the battlefield still demands real soldiers,” Justin Hammer declared. “Now, I am honored to introduce the first prototype of the Total Threat Response Combat Armor, and its pilot, Air Force Lieutenant Colonel James Rod!”

Amidst increasingly loud screams, a steel warrior, covered in weapons and carrying an exaggeratedly designed machine gun on his back, slowly rose from the stage's lift next to Justin Hammer at the very front of the stage.

This Iron Man suit is the one Colonel Rhodes took from Tony's house some time ago. He later brought it back to the army and had it modified with more weapons by Hammer Industries.

In the audience below, Pepper and Natasha sat together, both with blank expressions throughout.

She always felt that since taking over as CEO of Stark Industries, her life and work had never been smooth sailing.

Although Stark Industries has withdrawn from the arms market and shifted to the clean energy sector, it has no conflict of interest with Hammer Industries.

But looking at the scene before her, she still felt a little upset.

The next second, she saw something even more upsetting.

A golden-red figure, which had recently caused her headaches and hair loss, descended from the sky and landed in front of Justin Hammer and Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes.

"Tony!" Pepper exclaimed in a low voice, "What's he doing here?!"

Given Tony's recent mental state, Pepper really couldn't figure out what he was here for.

Even if he were to say now that he challenged Justin Hammer's mechanical legion to a duel just to show off, Pepper felt she could just smile and calmly accept the situation.

Fortunately, the next second she saw Tony walk up to Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes, who was wearing the Iron Man suit, and put his hand on his back. The atmosphere seemed to be quite harmonious.

Then she saw Tony walk toward Justin Hammer, seemingly to have a chat as well.

"I hope Tony doesn't cause any more big news. I don't want to take so many calls from the military and reporters anymore..." Pepper whispered.

The next second, her prayer, in a sense, came true.

Colonel Rhodes's Iron Man suit suddenly pointed the machine gun on the back at Tony, and then the squads of mechanical soldiers stationed at the back of the stage also raised their arms in unison, pointing their guns at Tony.

Although this was big news, it wasn't something Tony orchestrated, so Pepper's prayers were, in a sense, fulfilled.

But she couldn't feel happy at all.

On stage, Colonel Rhodes was yelling at Tony, "Run! Ivan has taken control of all the systems!"

“Let’s go, let’s go up there and fight…” Tony was preparing to fly up and move the battlefield to the sky.

A waterfall of crimson gold cascaded down from the sky, instantly engulfing the mechanical soldiers.

Countless crimson, glowing longswords descended from the sky, carrying immense impact and the intense heat bestowed by the Sovereign Flame. They pierced through and pinned the mechanical soldiers to the ground like scarecrows. The Sovereign Flame erupted on each sword, and the chain reaction of explosions instantly engulfed most of the stage.

In the sky, a sword larger than the other flying swords slowly descended, with a slender shadow standing on it. Several slender flying swords floated behind him. The shockwave from the explosion blew off his clothes, and the firelight made the flying swords behind him appear crimson.

"Sorry I'm a little late," Lu Mingfei greeted Tony.

His bangs flew wildly in the blast wave, and his eyes, like molten gold, peeked out from between the strands of hair.

Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes aimed the machine gun on his back at Lu Mingfei—Ivan, the remote-controlled mechanical soldier and Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes, immediately recognized the man who had knocked him unconscious at the racetrack.

The bullets rained down on Lu Mingfei, then all of them spun in the air, circled around him, and disappeared into the night sky.

Lu Mingfei raised his hand, and three of the swords he had left behind flew to his front, their tips pointing directly at Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes.

"Wait, wait, wait... I'm a real person!" Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes shouted urgently, "My Iron Man suit has been taken control!"

He still vividly remembered the terrifying scene of those longswords raining down from the sky, destroying all the mechanical soldiers like missiles.

"Is that so? What should we do then?" Lu Mingfei was startled, then a thought flashed through his mind. "I have an idea, Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes, just bear with it!"

"Endure what..." Before Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes could finish speaking, he was suddenly lifted into the air, but his Iron Man suit did not activate flight; it was as if an invisible force was lifting him up.

After being lifted nearly twenty meters into the air, Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes first felt a moment of weightlessness, and then a tremendous force pulled him violently down to the ground.

"Boom-"

With a tremendous crash, Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes's Iron Man suit smashed a huge crater into the stage.

"How is it? Is it broken?" Lu Mingfei asked, looking down.

After a while, Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes's reply came from the crater: "Which one are you asking about? The Iron Man suit or my waist?"

As Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes spoke, the Iron Man suit began to rise from the crater.

"Damn! It's so sturdy?" Lu Mingfei turned to Tony. "Tony, you made this thing, do you have any way to fix it?"

"Rhodes, was your equipment modified by Hammer Industries?" Tony asked.

"Hmm... Be careful, there might be weapons of mass destruction inside," Rhodes quickly warned.

“Mingfei, you said that the essence of your ability is to manipulate electromagnetic force, so can you give Rhodes an EMP shock?” Tony asked.

"Your suit doesn't protect against EMP?" Lu Mingfei asked in surprise.

EMP, commonly known as electromagnetic pulse, can instantly disable electronic devices within its range, but it can be defended against in various ways. High-value military weapons undergo relevant treatments, so how could Tony forget to add EMP protection to his suit?

“My suit can certainly defend against EMPs, but your ability is to manipulate electromagnetic forces within a certain range, right?” Tony said. “There are no EMP attacks in this world that detonate from inside the target device, so EMP defense measures are all for defending against EMP impacts originating from the outside…”

Lu Mingfei suddenly realized—he could try to shrink the Sword Control's domain, increase its power, and then create an EMP impact out of thin air within the entire domain, so that the EMP impact would directly include both the inside and outside of the Iron Man suit when it appeared, rendering even the best protection useless.

Lu Mingfei concentrated his mind, shrinking the sword's domain and concentrating its power, attempting to detonate an electromagnetic pulse within the condensed domain...

Intense sparks erupted from Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes's Iron Man suit, instantly extinguishing its eyes and halting its movement.

"I've got it sorted out, Tony!" Lu Mingfei excitedly turned to look at Tony.

Then he saw sparks fly from Tony's body, and his vision went dark.

Oh no! I was so focused on unleashing my ultimate attack that I forgot to include Tony in the skill's range.

Lu Mingfei blinked—

If I told Tony now that I didn't intentionally sabotage my teammates, would he believe me?

65. End of Chapter 65 and Concealment

Hammer Military Industry Exhibition, Main Hall.

Lu Mingfei looked at Tony, who was short-circuited by the EMP impact, with an embarrassed expression: "Um... Tony, would you believe me if I said this was an accident?"
