Amidst the noisy, overgrown grass, Jingyang entered the small shop inside the ship, pulled out a banknote, looked up, and asked, "Do you have a world map? Oh, and two decks of cards too."

"Playing cards?" The old man sitting behind the counter reading a newspaper pushed up his glasses, stood up, and looked down. A little boy, barely a meter tall, actually wanted to buy playing cards. He chuckled and looked behind the boy. "Why would a little kid like you want to buy playing cards? Where are your parents?"

Jing Yang clicked his tongue. There were too many people around, and they couldn't get off the boat anytime soon. Pulling out his hunter's license seemed like a lot of trouble—he couldn't very well beat up or kill and throw the troublemakers overboard, could he? Don't be ridiculous, he was already worrying about death energy.

"Jingyang, are you in trouble?" Suddenly, Da Gao appeared out of nowhere.

He glanced at him and Jing Yang hummed in agreement. "Buy me two decks of cards and a world map." He then pulled out a banknote and handed it to him.

Da Gao wanted to refuse, but fearing that this young master would try to cheat him again, he could only smile and accept, buying him two decks of cards and a world map.

“We’re having tea and chatting over there, want to join us?” Dago pointed to a spot not far away where several tables were pushed together, and all sorts of people were gathered there, including several amateur hunters who were with Dago.

In this world, professional hunters are clearly a privileged group that cannot be ignored. The apparent reason is the various privileges and treatments granted to the Hunter Association by international orders such as V5; the essence is that professional hunters are all Nen users, each with superhuman abilities.

Incidentally, amateur hunters also have a good reputation. Experienced amateur hunters like Dago are seen by ordinary people as super experts who are imposing and unfathomable.

Even if it's just bragging and chatting, listening to these hunters brag seems to have more flavor. Naturally, Dago and his group become the center of attention.

Jingyang accepted the playing cards and map, and casually said, "I won't keep you from making a scene. If you'd like, you can make one for me too. See you later."

He waved, put his hands in his pockets, and disappeared into the crowd like a fish. On the deck outside, a few tourists were laughing and trying to feed two crows, their food not a concern for Jingyang.

Dago smiled and shook his head, then sat back down among the others who were chatting. The others asked, "Who's that child? Mr. Dago, could he be your child?"

Dago's expression changed, and he became serious. The other man was also startled; why such a strong reaction?

“Some jokes are not to be made,” Dago said seriously. “They can kill people.”

Everyone was surprised, and even more surprised was that several of Da Gao's companions nodded in deep agreement.

The hunter's world is truly full of monsters... Everyone sighed inwardly, ignoring the boy from before, and continued their previous boasting.

……

Boom, boom, boom.

Hearing the knock, Menqi didn't open her eyes. "The door's unlocked, come in."

"What are you doing here?" It was indeed Jingyang's voice.

Men Qi, who was sitting cross-legged on the small bed, opened one eye and said irritably, "Can't I be here?"

"What I mean is, isn't this a coincidence? It saves me the trouble of going next door to call you." Jing Yang had a world map tucked under his arm and weighed the two unopened decks of cards in his hand. "I was just about to call you to come play cards with me."

Xiao Di sat at the only table in the small cabin, an old book open in front of her. She looked over curiously at it.

"Aren't you practicing your martial arts?" Menqi snorted.

“We need to balance work and rest.” Jing Yang closed the door behind him with a limp, peeked out, and said, “Xiao Di is reading? Stop reading, let’s play cards together.”

"She's been watching the whole time," Men Qi said, feigning anger. "We're practicing our martial arts too! We don't have time!"

Jingyang wasn't angry. He found a small stool and a folding table, put the deck of cards aside, and spread out the newly bought world map. "Fine, I'll play by myself for a while."

"I wasn't practicing?" Xiao Di closed her book, walked over, leaned forward with her knees on the table, and looked at the world map spread out on the small table. "What are you playing?"

"Little Di!" Menqi said with some dissatisfaction.

"Let's plan where to go next," Jingyang said with a smile, looking up to meet Xiaodi's eyes as she bent over.

She still had her usual innocent and adorable expression. Because of this posture, her slightly large glasses slipped down even further, making her purple eyes look exceptionally clear.

Little Drop looked at him with a puzzled expression.

Jingyang took off her glasses, put them back on, and looked down, saying, "Actually, I just want to find some famous tourist attractions I want to visit..."

Actually, he was a little worried that if he accidentally absorbed too much death energy while in the room, he might suddenly transform and Xiao Di and Men Qi wouldn't recognize him... Staying with them, even if "transforming" would expose some of his secrets, would at least prevent misunderstandings and unnecessary trouble.

Moreover, I seem to faint when I "transform," during which I probably have no ability to protect myself, so I would feel safer having two teammates "protect" me.

"Fine, let's play cards then!" Menqi sat cross-legged on the bed and patted the side. "Is such a small table big enough for everyone? Come on up, come on up."

……

And so, the three of them played cards in the cabin. Little Di was very quiet and couldn't remember the cards, so she had the most notes stuck to her face, which made Men Qi laugh and giggle.

Or the three of them might huddle together, studying the map, and when they get hungry, they'll grab something to eat. The boring voyage just flies by like that...

It wasn't until they were almost disembarking that Jingyang belatedly realized that during the countless hours of the journey, he felt as if several faint, chilling yet warm auras of death had seeped into his heart. However, he had been having so much fun with the two girls that he hadn't noticed at all...

As the ship docked, Jingyang and the others went up to the deck, gazing at the sunset and the city ahead—not exactly bustling, but still much more modern than the two towns on Ghost Island. Many people around them breathed a sigh of relief.

Chapter 47 Hello

"Judging from this, we won't be able to set off again until tomorrow morning."

After disembarking with the flow of people, Kang Jae glanced at the twilight sky and sighed, "This is what they mean by 'the weather is unpredictable'."

Is this how you use the phrase "the weather is unpredictable"? Jing Yang was genuinely surprised and turned to look at the tiger of the twelve zodiac signs. "I thought you had already left."

Kang Zai said, "My mission isn't over yet, why would I leave?"

Menqi chimed in, "I hardly saw you on the ship."

Kang Jae, holding the back of his head, said calmly, "As a bodyguard, if you're running around far away from your employer, that would be problematic, wouldn't it?"

“That makes sense.” Little Drop nodded. “Although you may not be very educated, you have a wealth of experience.”

Menqi was truly astonished. Xiao Di looked so pretty, but she was so sharp-tongued. Yet, judging from her usual expression, she didn't seem to be intentionally mocking Kang Zai.

"I'm a professional hunter, what do you guys think?" Kang Jae laughed.

Did you only hear the second half of the compliment? Not to mention Jingyang and the others, Da Gao and the others were secretly ashamed.

Sloe, the balding young man from Ochima, tried to smooth things over, saying, "Let's find a hotel to stay in for the night and set off again tomorrow."

He seemed to have thought of something and smiled, "Tomorrow is the 16th. Mr. Kang's short-term bodyguard contract will last until the end of January. It's rare to hire the powerful Twelve Hunter Associations. We should be able to handle some troublesome matters as we pass through some places, right?"

Kang Zai said, "In short, I am a bodyguard, and I will complete the mission."

Since Dago and the others had nothing else to do and were thinking about going back with Sloe to try and get more money, they agreed.

Jingyang then looked at Men Qi.

While on the ship, the three of them studied the world map for a long time. Jingyang found quite a few places he wanted to go, such as the Hunter Association headquarters, the Lost Melody Wetlands, the Sky Arena, and other "famous attractions." He even thought it wouldn't hurt to take a picture in front of the Zoldyck family's house, since their house is a tourist hotspot anyway. Or they could go to that unlucky place, NGL, to scout it out first...

Xiao Di doesn't have any particular place she wants to go; she just follows her boss wherever he goes.

Menqi, however, had his own plans.

“I will not leave Ochima.” Menqi said this on her bunk in the cabin, her finger moving across the bottom right corner of the map where Ochima was located. “Since I’m already here, I plan to travel around the Nuoamili continent first, to see the local delicacies and hunt for ingredients I’ve never seen before.”

"Because I'm a gourmet hunter, what can I do?"

Menqi laughed and tried to pat Jingyang on the head, but Jingyang flicked her away with his middle finger. "Little sister, are you itching for a beating?"

"Haha." Menqi laughed loudly.

……

The group checked into a hotel, and naturally, Sloe reimbursed their expenses.

After a short rest, everyone went out in small groups and went to the hotel restaurant to solve their hunger problem.

Jingyang was curious about Kangzai. While cutting a piece of meat together, he asked, "Mr. Kangzai doesn't look very old. When did you become one of the twelve earthly branches?"

Kang Jae forked a large piece of meat, stuffed it into his mouth, and chewed. "It's been several years, I don't even remember."

Jingyang said, "I heard that the twelve branches were all selected by Chairman Netero himself."

Kang Jae munched on his meat while staring at Jing Yang. After a while, he said, "Do you want to join too? The membership is already full. This is what you call overcrowded."

“Unless the president is willing to replace one of the twelve.” Kang Jae wiped the meat sauce from the corner of his mouth and chuckled at Jing Yang, “The president invited me to join because he thought I was a better fighter. If you can beat me, I can recommend you to replace me. Want to give it a try?”

“Mr. Kang Zai, I’m not a treasure,” Jing Yang said. “The way you’re staring at me with that kind of aura is putting a lot of pressure on me.”

"Hmph!" Kang Jae grabbed a piece of meat and started gnawing on it. "Is this what it means to be a magnanimous adult?"

You're a true genius when it comes to choosing words...

After a satisfying meal, everyone returned to their rooms to rest. Jingyang brought a bottle of juice, opened the hotel window, and a rock sparrow and two crows flew in under the cover of night.

The moonlight in the city was somewhat dim. Jingyang dipped some fruit juice in his hand and drew a crescent-shaped pattern on the windowsill.

A wisp of air condensed at her fingertips and emerged, covering the crescent-shaped pattern drawn with juice, instantly leaving a dark gray crescent mark.

"The moon markers are just for communication; the target carrying the marker isn't important. The marker itself is the anchor. It can indeed be applied to items too..."

Jingyang looked thoughtful, then turned his head and saw that Xiaodi had just come out to enjoy the breeze on the balcony next door.

Jingyang smiled and waved. Xiaodi tilted her head and waved back.

--------

The next day, January 16th, at 7:1 AM.

At the bustling train station, Menqi carried a simple backpack, and a kitchen knife hung from the back of her denim shorts. As a hunter with a license, she could openly carry this thing onto the train. This is what the privileges of a professional hunter are all about.

Jingyang and Xiaodi came to see her off. Their train to Cosmo, another major city in Ochima, wouldn't arrive until 9:15. Cosmo was much more bustling and fashionable than the port city of Grenoble. Sloe said that there they could buy tickets for spaceships to other continents across the ocean, and Jingyang and Xiaodi could take international flights directly to wherever they wanted to go.

With their hunter's licenses, they don't need any visas...

"Huh?" Jing Yang suddenly looked at Xiao Di and asked in a low voice, "You don't have a hunter's license, so why are you staying in Ochima? Did you get a visa?"

This seems unlikely, since the residents of Meteor City don't even have identity information on the international server.

Xiaodi said, "We have people there who can make all kinds of documents."

"Isn't this a bit inappropriate?" Jingyang criticized. "I'll make a stack of them myself another day."

"What are you all whispering about?" Menqi said, displeased. "Did you come to see me off?"

"You haven't left yet?" Jingyang feigned surprise.

Menqi grinned at him, then couldn't help but laugh. "Oh well, we'll definitely meet again! Next time we meet, I'll definitely surprise you! — I've thought of a really interesting new ability, it's awesome! It's perfect for me!"

Jing Yang scoffed, "How good are you? I'd take you down with two punches! Next time we meet, don't even think about knowing me unless you have at least ten or twenty thousand points of spiritual power!"

"You guys are the ones who are!" Menqi lowered her eyelids and made a face. "Without my cooking to help you recover, don't let me surpass your cultivation progress! Hehehe..."

Jingyang extended his fist.

Menchi laughed, bumped fists with Menchi, and said confidently, "I'm a hunter too, don't always underestimate me!"
