Mysterious Resurrection: What If
Chapter 79 First Battle
Chapter 79 First Battle (Fifteen)
Liu San and Yang Jian suddenly turned around.
But then Shen Lin's face suddenly appeared on a paper figure's face, and then the paper figure's body froze in a strange way, completely transforming into Shen Lin's appearance.
"What's the meaning.."
Liu San squinted at Shen Lin, his tone icy.
In less than a second, it invaded through its paper doll—a person who doesn't exist in reality. It's unbelievable.
A deathly darkness enveloped a European-style castle, its rusty iron gates tightly shut, and weeds growing all around.
Inside the castle.
An object resembling a projector slowly began to operate, projecting images of Yang Jian and the other two from within.
Upon closer inspection, it appears that the entire interior of the castle is projected by this old projector, with only an empty shell actually existing.
Beside the projector, a vicious black dog stood silently, partially obscuring the projection and making the image appear incomplete.
A blurry black and white figure stood to one side, with no specific facial features and a distorted outline, as if it did not exist in reality.
"These three people... are too perceptive."
On one side of the black and white figure, a short clown clings tightly to a trembling thin thread, the other end of which is connected to the neck of the vicious dog.
"Just by restricting it, I can no longer take any other action."
The clown's mouth split open, revealing a smug smile.
"We should evacuate. With that Yang Jian around, it's only a matter of time before they come out."
A low, cold female voice echoed from the depths of the empty hall.
"I want to try again..."
"Although we don't know how they did it, we are indeed in a two-dimensional scene now. Perhaps... it's the complementary relationship between the ghost puzzle pieces between the kings that has created a unique kind of supernatural phenomenon."
Yang Jian and Liu San listened quietly.
Although Yang Jian could understand it, he couldn't fully explain this strange phenomenon in words, while Liu San's expression was stiff, completely clueless.
To put it simply, it's because both of them have limited education.
"From our current perspective, this is how three-dimensional objects move on a two-dimensional plane; dreams are merely an illusion..."
Shen Lin raised his axe and pointed it at the black dog whose cross-section was constantly changing.
"This black dog is the best proof. We can only observe it from a two-dimensional perspective now. It is an amazing idea to take a three-dimensional object, unfold it in two dimensions through the supernatural, and then attack it."
Shen Lin paused for a moment, then continued:
"But the complementarity between these pieces seems incomplete, or rather, the compatibility between the two vengeful spirits is too low. If we go any further, perhaps the other party could easily kill us with just a flick of their hand."
After listening, Yang Jian gave Shen Lin a deep look.
To be able to deduce this much from just a few clues shows the vast difference between a captain-level figure and an ordinary ghost tamer.
The surrounding red light gradually became dazzling, and the extreme scarlet aura began to intensify.
Yang Jian pointed calmly at the strangely changing, vicious dog and said:
“Any supernatural event has its own clues. Forcibly piecing together two vengeful ghosts results in this biggest variable.”
Yang Jian stared at the big black dog, quickly considering and analyzing his next move.
"A counter-invasion, but not against the three kings, but against me, by attacking this dog that has infiltrated, to get to its true location."
Shen Lin immediately realized Yang Jian's intention and looked at Liu San, saying, "Cooperate with me."
He then raised the axe, pointing it directly at Yang Jian. "Relax, I know what I'm doing."
Yang Jian stared at Shen Lin expressionlessly, saying nothing. Both he and Shen Lin were intelligent people and didn't need to waste words. The next moment, a faint stench of decay quietly spread out. Strangely, this chilling stench didn't come from reality, but rather emerged slowly from their memories in a way that defied logic and common sense.
At this moment, a medium that does not exist in reality is triggered.
The next second, a memory that did not belong to Yang Jian suddenly appeared in his mind.
It was a terrifying, blurry figure, carrying an old, rusty axe.
It seemed to be searching for something within Yang Jian's memories.
Time loses its meaning here, stretching out as if it were endless, yet fleeting as if it were a mere instant.
Without any warning, a cold and eerie axe light exploded in my memory.
The axe light appeared abruptly in Yang Jian's memory, as if it had always been there, only now being noticed by him.
Just as Yang Jian recalled the moment, the rusty axe blade suddenly emerged from the outer wall of his memory.
The axe's light shot straight toward a place in his memory, and a tearing sensation instantly descended.
Amidst the fluttering yellow papers, Shen Lin slowly emerged, carrying an axe.
"An interesting attempt."
Shen Lin looked at the two kings before him.
“If we weren’t enemies, I would really like to sit down with you and talk about our views on vengeful ghosts.”
"This is incredible, absolutely incredible."
A black and white phantom swayed gently, as if it would disappear at any moment.
"It's astonishing that they can analyze the key points and respond quickly simply by observing."
Before the words were finished, the phantom began to distort, its edges becoming increasingly blurred, before suddenly dissipating and abruptly disappearing from the spot.
A short, clown-like figure pointed behind Shen Lin and then suddenly let out a terrifying laugh.
"The person behind you doesn't seem to want to talk. I admit we've lost this time."
The laughter abruptly stopped a moment later, and the clown's figure froze in place, as if someone had pressed the pause button. Then his mouth closed inch by inch, and his whole body quickly faded and dissipated, finally disappearing completely without a trace.
Shen Lin silently put away his axe; he did not give chase.
The moment the yellow paper appeared, the clown and the projectionist had already fled, and what remained was merely the remnants of the medium.
Behind Shen Lin, Yang Jian's ghostly hand gripped a woman tightly, his scarlet ghostly eyes slowly turning, coldly watching her. The icy lake water was gradually engulfing the woman.
However, the woman did not struggle at all; instead, she stared intently at Yang Jian.
"In my current state, you can't kill me."
Yang Jian looked at her quietly.
"Oh, is it so."
He then slowly released his grip, turned his head, and his gaze fell on the huge black dog.
"Bite her to death."
The moment the command was given, a deep bark echoed through the empty castle. The sound grew louder and more urgent.
It sounded as if countless vicious dogs were barking wildly.
Immediately afterwards, countless pairs of blood-red eyes suddenly appeared in the darkness from all directions.
The next second, countless vicious dogs rushed towards the woman like a black tide surging in.
