One Piece: Nobody knows Devil Fruits better than me.
Chapter 63 Remarks on the launch
Chapter 63 Remarks on the launch
Dear readers.
This book will be available tomorrow afternoon, which is Sunday the 9th, at 14 PM. (So there will be no update tomorrow morning.)
First, I'd like to ask for a first-time subscription! I'd like to ask for a first-time subscription! I'd like to ask for a first-time subscription!
Alright, now that we've finished asking for initial subscriptions, let's talk about the most important question, which is probably what readers who like this book care about the most—how many chapters will be released at launch?
A: I won't bother with fancy tricks like "a certain number of chapters for first-time subscribers" or "a certain number of chapters for first-time subscribers who are also high-quality subscribers".
Although my fingers have been typing non-stop lately, I still don't have enough chapters saved up, so I was originally planning to release eight chapters at once.
However, due to the bonus chapters from donations and last month's monthly tickets, there will be a total of 10 chapters updated tomorrow, all released at once.
I checked the word count, and it's actually around 3 words, which is about 10 chapters.
The second question is, how many words should I update daily after it's published?
A: 8,000 words per day. I will add extra words if I am in good condition or when I am trying to climb the rankings. Anyway, I guarantee 8,000 words per day, and occasionally I will add 10,000 words.
The third question is the update time after the product is published.
A: Except for the day of release, the updates are still consistently at 8 AM, and all updates are released at once.
Another thing is that this book will be featured in a "strong recommendation" contest next Tuesday (the last recommendation during the new book period), so if possible, I hope readers can continue reading for two more days after it goes on sale on Sunday (of course, it would be even better if you could keep reading, but I know some readers like to wait for the book to finish before reading, so there's nothing I can do about that).
--------------------------------
Okay, now that we've covered the important points, let's talk about the book itself.
When this book was published, I didn't expect it to do so well. [Yes, although it's just average for big names, it's already a very good result for a nobody like me.]
After all, the author hasn't written One Piece for many years, and only reads the manga every few weeks.
But recently, the stories of the old days of God Valley really stirred my emotions (especially Rocks, who was indeed handsome), so I rewatched One Piece and started writing this book.
Therefore, when writing about pirates, the author has a certain requirement for himself.
That's the sense of imagery.
Of course, you could also call it a feeling of being a chuunibyou (a person with delusions of grandeur). Anyway, when I was writing, I required myself to imagine that I was actually watching the One Piece anime in this chapter.
This directly led to many people saying that the author was padding the book, but the real reason is that I felt that without certain descriptions, the imagery in my mind would be distorted. [I'll try to correct this after it's published.]
Moreover, readers can see that the author updates very quickly during the new book period.
While my contemporaries were still at 14 words, I already had 17 words.
Even the editor said, 'You're updating too fast during the new book season; you should probably control the word count.'
Well, in the end, it was because the word count was too high that I was unable to get featured on the most crucial recommendation during the new book season.
The author's logic is that if I feel the imagery is right when I write a scene, I will finish writing it even if it's too long, and I won't add more words if it's too short.
Because if you add or remove elements just to get recommended, it's like cutting out the ending or forcibly lengthening the anime, which definitely won't be good.
I definitely won't post anything that's not aesthetically pleasing.
Just like Morgans said in my book—readers don't pay to subscribe to these things.
Of course, it's not that I'm always satisfied with every chapter; sometimes when I'm not in a good state of mind, the things I write aren't very good.
When faced with plot points like this, I usually spend a whole day trying to find ways to revise or overhaul them. But if it's something that's truly unchangeable (like something involving crucial later plot points or something foreshadowed earlier), then I just endure until I can't take it anymore and reluctantly compromise. For example, the recent Vegapunk Research Facility storyline was like that. I started writing around 11 am every morning and continued until after 11 pm. Aside from lunch and dinner, my mind was basically constantly on how to write, and even then, I wasn't satisfied with the final product. I can only say that the author's skill level isn't quite there yet; unlike a master who can maintain perfect appeal through subtle foreshadowing and intricate plot development.
Well, to put it simply, this is the author's creative logic and short stories. No more playing the victim; there's no need to share life's troubles, just to upset the readers.
Next, let's talk about the outline and plot of this book.
First, the rough outline of this book is now nearing its end [simply put, the two major plot points at the end have been finalized, provided that Oda doesn't retcon the story], and the detailed outline will be around four smaller plot points later.
I personally think the plot's twists and turns and its novelty are quite good, but ultimately, it's up to the readers to judge for themselves.
-------------------------
Finally, there's the issue of adding more chapters.
Fanfiction rarely has a leader who patronizes fan works, so this extra chapter rule is just a formality.
An extra chapter will be added for every 1000 monthly votes in a single month, and another extra chapter will be added for every 500 additional monthly votes.
If the total amount of donations exceeds 30,000 points, an extra chapter will be added (actually, it's not that precise; for example, if two readers each donated 10,000 points before the book was published, plus donations from other readers, it will still be +1 even if it's not 30,000. The exact amount depends on the author's remaining manuscripts).
If the number of alliance leaders increases by 1, an additional 8 words will be added.
If the Silver Alliance increases by 1, an additional 5 words will be added.
If you gain +1 Gold Alliance member, you will receive an additional 10 words.
[If the stockpile of chapters is insufficient, I will gradually make up for it by updating more frequently each day.]
Well, that's probably it.
Regardless of the final initial subscription results, I would like to thank all the readers for their support, especially those who praised me. Their emotional value greatly enhanced my writing style.
And finally.

Finally, I'd like to offer a few books by my friends as a tribute.
"Who Made This Cat an Exorcist!", a new work by a reputable author, whose quality is trustworthy.
"Tormenting the Hero: Why Did the Demon King's Castle Collapse Again?" is a lighthearted Japanese light novel full of humor and references, perfect for relaxing reading.
I haven't read "Just Graduated, the Middle-Aged System Arrives" yet, but the author is very witty, so it should be good.
"Speed Through the Martial World, Fist Dominates All Heavens," a masterpiece with over 4000 first-day subscriptions, needs no further explanation.
"The Ming Dynasty: From the Border Troops to the Demise of the Qing Dynasty" is a masterpiece of Ming Dynasty history; just read it and you're done.
"Martial Arts Ascension to Godhood Starting with Limit-Breaking Traits," a masterpiece of fantasy literature written from hundreds of thousands of downloads, is truly enviable.
"The Great Qian Tyrant: Listening to the World," a recent fantasy novel on Sanjiang Literature City, was quite good.
"Starting with the Border Troops, Asking the Emperor to Die," a ruthless and decisive fantasy novel.
