Hogwarts: A Chinese-Style Professor
Chapter 7 Snape's Weight Gain
Chapter 7 Snape's Weight Gain
The conversation with Professor McGonagall went very smoothly—a smoothness that made Levi feel very comfortable.
"Well then, let's stop here for today."
"thanks for your help."
Levi bid farewell to Professor McGonagall and left the vice-chancellor's office with two assistants and Barton.
Unexpectedly, there were people waiting here for quite some time.
As the warmth and aroma of tea in the office were shut out, a damp, cold wind suddenly blew in, carrying the unique scent of Hogwarts Castle—a mixture of aged stone walls and potion ingredients.
"I thought you had died somewhere, sometime during the day."
Li Wei stopped and calmly turned towards the source of the sound.
Severus Snape leaned against the stone wall, staring at Levi with cold eyes.
His facial features were no longer distinct, appearing somewhat plump and loose, with greasy black hair plastered to both sides of his cheeks, and a few strands of grayish-white hair at his temples that seemed to be caused by something other than potion dust.
"Snape? You've aged a lot."
Looking at the once dashing mixed-race prince, now reduced to a greasy middle-aged man you could see anywhere on the street, Li Wei frowned slightly—one of the few things he cared about was that he would one day become like this.
"Ah, such keen observation, Li Wei."
It seems that your life of hiding and fleeing has honed your leisurely appreciation for others?
Snape glanced at Levi up and down, his face full of sarcasm, and spoke at an extremely fast pace, his words coming out like cannonballs, as if he had been holding back some things in his heart for a long time and had finally found a way to express them.
"What? Didn't you arrogantly declare back then that you would put all your energy into magic and had no time to get involved in our childish squabbles?"
Why do they suddenly have the leisure to pay attention to their appearance?
Or is it that, after reaching a point where you can no longer achieve anything magical, you're forced to shift your focus elsewhere—for example, becoming a delicate, handsome gigolo?
“A good appearance can bring invisible power. How many times have I told you? It’s precisely because you’re so sloppy that Lily won’t like you.”
"Shut up! How dare you mention that name!"
Snape's roar suddenly echoed down the corridor.
The next moment, he realized his lapse in composure, his expression changed abruptly, and he immediately turned his body to the side, trying to leave.
But before leaving, he couldn't help but turn back and give Levi a deep look. If you and I had joined forces back then, how could Potter have been so arrogant? How could Lily have ever been interested in him?
But he ultimately didn't say those words aloud.
He understood the moment they met—Li Wei was still the same Li Wei, always indifferent to everything with a blank expression, caring nothing for anyone, with only his own goals in his eyes.
Perhaps in the other person's eyes, the only thing worth remembering about them is their once outstanding appearance.
Ironically, this was the thing Snape cared about the least.
".snort!"
Snape waved his wizarding robes in displeasure and strode away.
"It's been so many years, and you're still as troublesome as ever. Judging from this, are you going to blame me for not winning Lily's heart?"
Li Wei watched Snape suddenly appear and then hurriedly leave like a giant bat, and calmly rolled his eyes.
He had already helped Snape avoid that most embarrassing public humiliation, so why was Snape's personality still so stubborn?
This was almost the only time in all these years that Snape participated in the plot, and as it turned out, even so, Snape still failed to win Lily's favor.
"Professor, is this someone you used to know?"
As an observer, Jowell vaguely sensed that the professor named Snape seemed to have a significant connection with his own teacher.
Camille frowned and stared in the direction Snape had left, without saying a word.
"Well, he was my classmate before. We weren't that close, we didn't talk much. Oh well, ignore him, he's not important."
Li Wei's primary goal right now is to find a way to get rid of his heavy coursework as soon as possible.
Li Wei led the three of them to an unused classroom on the first floor.
It was unclear how long this place had been abandoned. When Li Wei opened the door, some dust fell from the top of the door, and a thick layer of ash covered the ground.
At the back of the classroom, desks and chairs were scattered haphazardly, and in some corners lay tattered books of unknown age.
"Teacher, leave these things to us."
"It's alright, I'll be faster." Li Wei stretched out his wand and slowly stirred it in front of him. A vortex was generated from the center of the classroom, and after only three rotations, it turned into a small tornado that covered the ceiling.
Whether it was dust, books, tables, chairs, or miscellaneous items, everything was swallowed up according to its size.
"call!"
After devouring all the items, the tornado suddenly dissipated, disappearing along with all the swallowed debris.
Just ten seconds later, the entire classroom was spotless, though it looked a bit monotonous.
"You should each prepare your own rooms."
Li Wei waved his wand again, using the Unseen Expansion Charm to expand the entire classroom tenfold. The originally closed classroom windows quickly glued together, gradually transforming into a huge floor-to-ceiling window.
Jowell cast a spell at the opportune moment, adding a reflective magic to the French windows, so that only they could see the view outside, while those outside could not see inside.
Jia Meier simultaneously cast a spell, repainting the somewhat mottled white walls with a pure white color.
The black dragon-skin briefcase opened again and suddenly slid inward—a large amount of mahogany furniture and the luggage of the two assistants were 'spit out' and then moved to their ideal positions under magical control.
Soon the classroom no longer resembled a classroom; instead, it looked like a library belonging to a great scholar.
Jovel and Camille each chose a room close to Levi, while the house-elf Barton selected a spot in the corner of the classroom as his dwelling.
"I'll leave the greetings to you, Patton."
"Please feel free to leave it to me."
Patton, carrying the candies and snacks he had bought in advance, disappeared with a 'pop' of firecrackers.
After finishing everything, Li Wei turned around and found his two assistants standing together, silently looking at the scenery outside through the floor-to-ceiling window.
They were standing right in front of Black Lake, where sunlight shone and reflected golden light. A gigantic squid, enormous and bizarre in size, was lazily basking in the sun on the shore.
Li Wei, who was about to immediately study the Fiery Curse, suddenly had an idea when he saw this scene, and slowly walked behind the two of them.
"Speaking of which, you've never been to school, and even your basic education was done by private tutors—would you like to go out and have a look around?"
"We are simply interested in the places you have studied, Professor."
Jia Meier spoke casually, seemingly denying that she was curious about the new environment.
"Professor, you seem to be in a good mood?"
Jovel was somewhat surprised—the professor hadn't immediately started working on magic? It seemed this place truly held special significance for him.
As a result, he became somewhat curious about Hogwarts.
"Hmm—I have some strange feelings right now—but I can't quite put my finger on them."
"Perhaps, deep down, I have longed to return here."
Li Wei let out a soft breath, as memories of the past kept flooding back into his mind.
The surprise of receiving an owl envelope on my eleventh birthday was a magical experience that had only existed in fairy tales, and I flew for the first time.
Although the journey has been filled with mostly lonely and monotonous repetitive scenes, looking back now, it doesn't feel bitter at all; instead, it offers solace.
After all, it was his hard work in the past that made him who he is today.
Otherwise, during wartime, any high-ranking Death Eater could probably kill him.
Having frankly admitted his inner thoughts, Li Wei's gaze passed over his two assistants and went straight to the vast outdoors.
The two assistants noticed the teacher's unusual behavior but remained silent and did not disturb him.
The three of them remained motionless, silently gazing out the window for a long time.
Suddenly, Li Wei felt a long-lost, budding excitement from the depths of his heart.
He suddenly felt inspired.
This return could very well be a turning point.
Li Wei seemed to snap out of his reverie and walked out of the classroom with two assistants.
Hogwarts.
I am back.
