Let's start over, Your Majesty.

Chapter 95 Family Dinner

Chapter 95 Family Dinner
A waiter in a black vest opened the intricately carved door in front of her, and Sia slowly walked into the restaurant with Manslivie.

Only two people sat at the nearly ten-meter-long white marble table: Enride and his eldest son, Cons Marshall.
This man, not yet thirty years old and with short, dark green hair, is Fane's military advisor in the Pavi colony. This area originally belonged to the Uthrull Orc Kingdom but was ceded to Fane after the Three Kingdoms War.

"Mom! Long time no see! Happy Holidays!"

Cons stood up, walked over, and gave Mansliwe a warm hug.

"And, our little princess? Would you like to hug your brother?" He smiled at Xia.

"Stay away from me," Xia said bluntly.

"Haha, still as fierce as before," Cons chuckled.
Sia looked toward Enled over there.

Enled remained expressionless and said calmly, "Sit down."

He sat in the main seat, with Constance in the first seat to his left, and Manslivia and Sia both in the seat to his right, three seats apart, while Sia and Manslivia were two seats apart.

Four people at a large dining table created a striking sense of estrangement.

After they were seated, the waiters began serving the food, filling their stemmed glasses with crystal-clear red wine, while Sia's glass was filled with pomegranate juice.

Enled raised his glass slightly and said, "It's a rare family gathering, so let's not stand on ceremony. Please enjoy the food."

He took a sip of red wine, and then the sound of knives and forks touching porcelain plates came from the table.

The appetizer was a foie gras terrine with apple puree and raw caviar.

The table was quiet; no one spoke, only the sounds of knives and forks and the clatter of waiters refilling their drinks could be heard.

Manslivie seemed uninterested in the dishes in front of her, silently sipping her red wine, her gaze occasionally glancing unintentionally towards Enled's position.

Sia, holding her knife and fork, cut into the pale yellow foie gras terrine, just then heard Enled's voice:
"Xia, how have you been at school lately?"

It was a caring remark, but judging from his expression, it was as if he were interrogating a criminal.

"Nothing special, just average," Xia said casually.

"But I heard that on the first day of school, a male student tackled you?" Enleide said calmly. "Who was he?"

Sia paused for a moment while holding the knife and fork, then said, "It's nothing serious. He accidentally bumped into me, that's all."

“Is that so?” Enled said, turning his gaze back.

But Cons, standing to the side, spoke up:

"Hey sis, your school life seems a bit too dull, doesn't it? Back when I was at San Yaro, it was all about fancy cars, beautiful women, parties at clubs, and barbecues on the school lawn," he chuckled.

"If you don't take advantage of this time to have more fun, you'll regret it when your wonderful student days are over."

"You don't need to worry about it," Xia said coldly.

But Constance seemed not to hear her and continued:

"Look, I really miss my student days. Now I'm stuck abroad every day, blowing sand and always smelling that pungent odor. It's really suffocating me."

He sniffed, then chuckled: "So, in order to avoid developing mental illness, we still need to find ways to amuse ourselves."

A hint of annoyance appeared on Xia's face.

But he continued enthusiastically, "Oh, right, I just remembered something really interesting. Let me tell you about it. Just last month, we were out on a field mission when a male sheep-man came up to us on the street, carrying his daughter, and asked if we could give him some food, because they were starving."

"Then I teased him by taking out a grenade and saying that if he could retrieve it, I would reward him with a big piece of roasted potato."

"And guess what? I threw the grenade with the fuse pulled, and that idiot actually pounced on it! And he was even hugging his daughter! Hahaha!"

Cons laughed so hard he almost fell over, slapping the table as he said between laughs:
"Then there was a loud bang, and he and his daughter exploded into the air, turning into a bloody mess! Especially the little lamb's head, it was like a ball, rolled twice on the ground, and was then carried away by a dog! It was hilarious, we rarely see such stupid guys, it was so funny, hahaha."

His incessant laughter echoed through the restaurant. Enred and Manslivi showed little expression, but Sia sat there, biting her lower lip, her hands trembling as she held the knife and fork.

Manslivi took a sip of red wine, smiled faintly, and asked:

"Are you alright, Cons?" "Of course not, I threw it really far, Mom," Cons said with a smile.

Enlid said to Cons in a low voice, "You've worked hard these past two years."

“No, Father, I am fighting for the benefit of the kingdom. With this belief, I will forge ahead no matter what I do.” Constance, like a loyal and brave knight, pressed his hand to his chest and said solemnly.

Enled was satisfied with his attitude and nodded.

Then he looked at Sia.

Are you ready for the expo?

Xia remained silent.

“I’m talking to you, Sia,” Enled said calmly.

Sia took a deep breath and said, "Ready."

“Very good,” Enled nodded. “There will be sufficient security measures in place, so you don’t need to worry about anything else.”

He took a sip of red wine and then said:

“You’re not representing Eldaria this time, you’re representing Fane. You need to formally state your position. Do you understand what I mean?”

Xia remained silent for a long time before whispering, "I understand."

“Very good,” Enlid said again. “Don’t forget what I told you.”

Sia raised her head slightly and looked at the man in the main seat, slowly tightening her grip on the knife in her hand.

In the end, she let go of the knife and leaned back in her chair as if all her strength had been drained.

A small town in the western part of the Berkan Plain.

Click! The bullet made a crisp sound as it was pressed into the clip.

He slowly pulled back the bolt, and after hearing the sound of a bullet being chambered, he took a deep breath, turned the gun around, and put the dark muzzle into his mouth.

A cold, hard sensation came from his mouth, carrying the metallic taste of gun oil, pressed firmly against his palate. The Fils rifle was very long, and he had to straighten his arm and lean forward so that he could reach the trigger with one hand.

Staring at the cobweb-covered ceiling, her bloodshot eyes closed in despair.

"So be it."

"Meow."

On the windowsill next to him, the black cat stood quietly, its bright orange vertical pupils staring straight at him.

A fear from the depths of his soul swept over his entire body. His thumb pressed hard on the clapper, but the small clapper felt as heavy as a thousand pounds, and he could not budge it.

Just as he was struggling in his death throes, the door was pushed open, and a young man with a freckled face rushed in, snatched the rifle from his hand, and shouted sharply:
"What are you doing, Uriel?!"

"I"

Uriel covered his face with his hands, whispering as if groaning, "I really can't hold on any longer. If they catch me, I'd rather just let them take my place."

“I told you I wouldn’t let you go to your death,” the freckled man said breathlessly. He crouched down, gripping Uriel’s shoulders tightly with both hands, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
"Let me tell you, that lord has agreed to help us. We now have more manpower than ever before, and we can do anything now."

“But what’s the use?” Uriel said, his voice trembling. “I’m a sinner now. No matter who catches me, I’ll only face death. No, they won’t let me die. They’ll torture me to death! It’ll be worse than death!”

“In that case, let’s go all out,” the freckled man said. “Let’s do something big, something that will shock the whole world and make history remember us.”

Uriel looked at him, his eyes filled with confusion: "What... big thing?"

The freckled man's eyes narrowed, and he said in a low voice:

"We're going to kill King Otto VI of Finn! And that vizier, Enred!"
