Chapter 32 Birthday
Chapter 32 Birthday (Part 1)
"Look! Our Sword Hero is about to be defeated by the evil Dark Lord! Quickly use loving and kind magic to help our Sword Hero and redeem the Dark Lord!"
The host's emotional voice rang out throughout the venue. On the stage, a hero in a red robe, holding a sword, was kneeling on the ground, while the exaggeratedly dressed "Dark Lord" was laughing loudly beside him.
Caesar stood to the side, holding a ridiculously silly, girly pink magic wand, his eyes twitching, wishing he could disappear into a crack in the ground.
"Caesar! Hurry! The Sword Hero is about to be defeated! Help him!"
From below the stage, Ita shouted excitedly at him, and Yumilia clapped enthusiastically beside him.
"Damn it." His face was gloomy, and he squeezed out the words from between his teeth, filled with extreme regret.
If he had known things would turn out like this, he would never have come to this amusement park.
Back to this morning.
As the first rays of sunlight streamed into the room, Caesar woke up and opened his eyes to find Ita sitting on him, staring intently at him with her large eyes.
Good morning, Caesar.
Caesar stared at her for a few seconds.
"What are you doing"
"Today's the day we go to the amusement park! I've been so excited I couldn't sleep all night!" Ita said excitedly, getting up and pulling at his blanket.
"Hurry up, Caesar! Yumilia said we'd go as soon as you woke up! I've been waiting for you here for over half an hour!"
"You're really proactive. Wait, don't pull my clothes!"
Today is February 20th, which is also Caesar's birthday. Yesterday, Yumilia took out the three tickets she bought via email shopping, which were for the amusement park in Landing City, as mentioned before.
At first, Ita didn't know what an amusement park was. It wasn't until Yumilia showed her an advertisement in the newspaper and explained about carousels, dancing lions, and roller coasters that soar into the sky that she understood.
So Ita also began to yearn for it, and last night she was so excited that she couldn't sleep for a long time, and couldn't wait until the next day.
"Oh, right! Caesar."
Ita, who was excitedly making a ruckus on his bed, suddenly remembered something and stopped, then pounced on him and gave him an exceptionally tight hug:
"Happy birthday!"
As I walked downstairs, in the warm morning sun, Yumilia was taking a large cake base out of the oven, the sweet aroma filling the entire room.
"Happy birthday, little Casey!" Yumilia smiled as she saw him come downstairs, put down the cake, walked over, hugged him, and kissed him on the cheek.
"You're five years old today! You'll be growing into a handsome young man soon."
"Then don't treat me like a child," Caesar muttered softly, rubbing his cheek where he had been kissed.
“But it’s tradition. On their birthday, family members kiss the child to give them their blessings,” Yumilia said earnestly.
"Then, can I kiss Caesar too?" Ita asked expectantly.
"of course can."
"no."
Before Caesar could finish speaking, Ita turned around, wrapped her arms around Caesar's neck, and quickly kissed him on the cheek.
“Now I’m sending my blessings to Caesar as well!” Ita said with a smile.
"I'm telling you," Caesar said, covering his face, his cheeks flushed, and sighing helplessly.
Just then, there was a knock on the door. When Yumilia opened it, it was Chopper and Mrs. Bell, who was holding a box wrapped with a yellow ribbon.
“Happy birthday, Caesar,” Mrs. Bell said with a gentle smile. “Congratulations on growing another year older.” “Thank you, Mrs. Bell,” Caesar replied politely.
Happy birthday, Caesar. This is my birthday present for you.
Chopper handed the gift box to Caesar.
"Let's open it and take a look!"
Caesar held the gift box in silence for a moment, then said, "It's not another bug, is it?"
Last year for his birthday, Chopper gave him a big yellow beetle, which then laid eggs all over his room, and within a few days the whole family was buzzing around his room.
"No, these are cookies I baked," Chopper said.
"Oh, really? Thank you so much." Caesar breathed a sigh of relief, opened the box, and saw a whole box of cockroach-shaped, dark brown cookies inside.
Caesar: “.”
"How about it? These are giant beetle-shaped cookies I baked. It took me several days to get this shape right!" Chopper said proudly. "Try one!"
Although he called it a giant beetle, Caesar thought it looked more like a cockroach.
There's absolutely no way I'd have an appetite.
“This is too precious for me; I intend to keep it as a keepsake,” Caesar said.
"That's fine, although I still recommend you eat it."
After exchanging pleasantries, Bell and her son left. Caesar and his family packed their things and left early to catch the train in town.
Ita was very excited along the way, skipping and hopping in front of the group. Every now and then she would run back to hold Yumilia's hand and walk a little further. In terms of appearance, the two looked more like sisters.
We arrived at the train station soon.
Although this place is just a small town, many families have reached the middle class standard of living, and even families in the village are quite well-off. A big reason for this is that this is the main railway line, which is an important part of the kingdom's transportation hub.
When the train, billowing black smoke and emitting a steam whistle, pulled into the station, Ita, who had been excitedly running around, fell silent and quietly huddled next to Yumilia.
"That's a human vehicle, there's no need to be afraid. We'll be sitting inside it later," Caesar said, thinking she was frightened by the train.
“It’s not that I’m scared,” Ita blinked, looking at the train. “It’s just… I think I’ve ridden this big thing before.”
"Have you ridden in it before?" Caesar asked, somewhat intrigued.
Logically speaking, someone from Ita, where the dragons know nothing about human society, shouldn't have any impression of trains. Could it be that the dragons have a similar means of transportation?
"I can't remember." Ita shook her head.
Before I could think about it, the train doors opened, so I had no choice but to hurry inside.
The town is more than 40 kilometers from Lanting City. It takes less than an hour by train. After passing through vast green wheat fields, you soon arrive at the high-rise buildings. With a guidebook in hand, Yumilia quickly finds the "Rainbow Star" amusement park in the center of the city.
"How strange, Caesar, look, big eyes!" Ita tugged at Caesar's sleeve at the entrance of the amusement park, pointing to the giant Ferris wheel.
“That’s called a Ferris wheel. If you ride it, it will go up to the sky,” Caesar said.
To be honest, I didn't expect that many of the facilities in amusement parks are already quite well-established, including roller coasters. Although they are not as exaggerated as modern roller coasters, they look like just a winding little train.
