Reborn in 1878: America's Number One Bandit

Chapter 14 Isabel's Knight

Chapter 14 Isabel's Knight

"He gave up on me..."

Isabella pleaded, "Please, let me go. I'll go far away and never come back to Strawberry Town."

"Let you go?"

Scarface sneered.

"Rules are rules, madam."

We're in the kidnapping business, not some damn charity. If we don't get the ransom, we have to find a way to recoup our losses. Don't blame us for being ruthless.

If you have someone to blame, blame your husband who treats you like an old piece of furniture.

He roughly grabbed Isabella's arm and dragged her up from the ground.

"Come on, my dear wife. Since you can't be a lady of leisure, why not try being a commodity? In the mines of Mexico, there are plenty of miners willing to spend a little money to have their way with white wives. Your new life is about to begin."

Isabella screamed and struggled.

But her strength was negligible in front of a strong man.

She was roughly dragged out of the cave and shoved into a dilapidated four-wheeled carriage.

The carriage was cramped and bumpy.

Three Irish bandits on horseback escorted the carriage.

The carriage bumped along the rugged mountain road.

Isabella's heart sank to the bottom with the vibrations of the wheels.

I'm done.

What awaits her is a fate more terrible than death.

Just a dozen miles away from the canyon.

A gunshot suddenly rang out in the silent mountain forest!
"boom!"

The robber walking at the very front.

He fell straight off the horse and lay down in the grass.

"FUCK! There's an ambush!"

The two robbers behind him started shouting loudly.

They reined in their horses, drew their revolvers from their waists, and looked around.

"Bang! Bang!"

Two more gunshots rang out, and the remaining two robbers fell from their horses.

They lay on the ground pretending to be dead.

A lithe figure emerged from the roadside woods.

He rushed to the carriage in a few steps.

Isabella peered through the gaps in the carriage, watching in shock as everything unfolded before her.

That man was very tall.

He was dressed in a well-fitting denim outfit, with a gleaming black Colt Peacemaker gun holstered in his waistband.

He had short blond hair and a well-defined face; he was so handsome he didn't seem like an ordinary person.

The man walked up to the carriage and yanked open the door.

He looked at Isabella, who was huddled in the corner.

“Don’t be afraid, madam, you’re safe. My name is Jack, I’m a bounty hunter, and I’ve been tracking this gang of bandits for a long time.”

Isabella stared at him blankly, momentarily speechless.

This man was like an angel sent by God to save her.

Jack extended his hand, smiling, and said:
"Come on. I'll take you away."

Isabella hesitated for a moment.

She placed her hand in his broad, warm palm.

With a gentle effort, Jack easily lifted her voluptuous body out of the carriage.

When her body pressed against his firm chest.

Isabella smelled a faint scent of tobacco and sunshine.

This made her feel safer than ever before.

Jack lifted her onto his tall horse.

He had her sit in front of him, then he flipped himself onto the saddle and wrapped his arms around her from behind.

"Hold on tight, madam."

He squeezed the horse's belly with his legs, and the horse neighed.

With its four hooves flying, it galloped wildly into the depths of the mountains and forests.

Aren't we going back to my manor?

Isabella asked in his arms, the night wind ruffling her hair.

"no!"

Jack's warm breath made her feel flustered.

“The bandits’ camp is nearby. If we go back now, they will find us very quickly. We must find a place to hide first and make plans after things calm down.”

The voice just fell.

Sure enough, sporadic gunshots and shouts could be heard from the mountains behind them.

The pursuing bandits and assassins were putting on a great show.

They fired shots randomly into the sky to create the illusion of relentless pursuit.

Isabella was terrified.

Subconsciously, she pressed her body even closer to Jack's broad chest.

this moment.

She had completely trusted this handsome man who had fallen from the sky.

She believed everything he said.

The moon was obscured by dark clouds at some point.

Raindrops began to fall from the sky, and soon turned into a downpour.

The two were quickly soaked to the bone.

Rain dripped down their cheeks and hair.

Jack navigated the dark, rainy night and finally found a cave where he could take shelter from the rain.

He helped Isabella off her horse, tied it to a tree at the cave entrance, and then led her into the cave.

The cave was small, but very dry.

Jack took a flint and some kindling from the saddlebag. Soon a campfire was lit.

The orange flames flickered, dispelling the cold and darkness in the cave.

Jack took off his coat, wrung it out, and roasted it by the fire.

Then he took out a blanket and draped it over the shivering Isabella.

"Take off your wet clothes and dry them in the sun, otherwise you'll get sick."

Jack's voice was very gentle.

Isabella blushed and looked at Jack shyly.

Jack seemed to see through her embarrassment, and he turned away understandingly.

With his back to her, he said, "Don't worry, madam. I'm not the kind of scoundrel who would take advantage of someone in distress. In my eyes, you are a respectable lady."

Isabella lowered her guard as well.

She had her back to Jack.

She quickly took off her soaking wet clothes.

She was left with only her close-fitting underwear.

Then he put the clothes by the fire to dry and wrapped himself in a blanket.

The warm firelight shone on her plump, fair body.

It outlines an alluring curve.

The two sat down around the campfire.

Speechless for a moment.

The atmosphere is a bit subtle.

"Thank you, Jack."

In the end, it was Isabella who broke the silence.

She briefly recounted her experience.

"If it weren't for you, I really wouldn't know..."

Jack took a piece of jerky from his bag and handed it to her.

"Eat something, you must be starving."

He looked into her eyes and said sincerely:

“A beautiful lady like you shouldn’t have to suffer like this. That Coleman Parker. He’s a blind fool. No man with a brain would give up a gem like you for a mere five thousand dollars.”

Jack's words were like a warm current, instantly flowing into Isabella's heart.

how many years.

Since marrying Coleman.

All she ever heard was calculation about land, cattle, and money.

She was like a piece of property in the manor.

A piece of furniture that can talk.

No one had ever looked at her with such fervent and admiring eyes.

He said such sweet words to her.

Her eyes were red.

Jack did not press her further about her relationship with her husband.

He began to recount his experiences as a bounty hunter.

He recounted his pursuit of a murderer in Texas.

Fighting Native Americans in the snowy mountains of Colorado.

Living among rattlesnakes in the Arizona desert.

His stories were thrilling and exciting, which deeply captivated Isabella.

She listened intently.

The man in front of her was practically the embodiment of all her childhood dreams of being a hero.

He is strong, handsome, and brave.

Gentle and considerate.

Know how to respect women.

Compared to that fat, selfish, and stingy Coleman.

It's like one is in the sky and the other is in the mud.

Unknowingly.

The way she looked at Jack was infatuated.

The rain was still falling outside the cave.

The atmosphere inside the cave grew increasingly intense.

When Jack finished telling a story, their eyes met in the flickering firelight.

Isabella could see undisguised admiration in those blue eyes.

Her heart began to race.

My cheeks are burning.

She knew what was coming.

But she didn't want to resist at all.

She longed for this man.

Jack slowly approached her and gently stroked her cheek.

"Isabella."

He called her name for the first time.

"you are so Beautiful."

Isabella shuddered.

He closed his eyes and slightly raised his head.

This is a silent invitation.

Jack leaned down and kissed her soft lips.

The reflection of the campfire danced wildly on the rock face.

“Oh, Jack,”

“Be gentle…”
