Warhammer: The Time Traveler

Chapter 81 Chen Yu's Attitude

Chapter 81 Chen Yu's Attitude (12th Update)

Deep within the abandoned town's workshop, a constant, cold light enveloped Chen Yu's tall, dark red body.

He received and reviewed the complete record sent back by Mowell of the contacts with the military technology "probe" team.

The other side's intentions were clear: after confirming the effectiveness of the deterrence, they attempted to upgrade a simple compensation and ceasefire into a more constructive "dialogue channel" that could lead to technology exchange.

In Chen Yu's core logic, this kind of response from military technology falls into the category of being efficient and predictable.

They recognized the power imbalance and quickly adjusted their strategy, shifting from armed confrontation to an exchange of benefits.

This aligns with the behavior of large companies, which, when faced with threats that cannot be easily eliminated, attempt to transform them into usable resources or controllable partners.

However, Chen Yu showed little interest in this.

His core objective remains unchanged: to stabilize the dimensional teleporter, establish a reliable connection with the Warhammer universe, acquire its resources and technology, and especially solve the critical material shortage that is currently troubling him.

Entanglement with local forces, whether through war or in-depth negotiations, would consume his precious research time and computing resources.

He needs a way to satisfy some of the military technology's expectations, temporarily reassuring them and prompting them to pay "compensation," while also clearly drawing a line to avoid endless probing and disturbances.

At the same time, a more direct and unambiguous warning is needed to completely extinguish the unrealistic fantasies of biotechnology companies that are still clamoring for retaliation.

"A deal is possible, but it's limited to this." Chen Yu's synthesized voice whispered in the workshop, carrying an undeniable conclusion.

He decided to obtain temporary peace and the necessary supplies at the lowest possible cost.

His consciousness sank into his own vast database.

This is not his main knowledge base as a Mechanicus priest; he accesses another, relatively "minor" section, which stores countless design sketches, unfinished ideas, apprenticeship exercises, and some technologies that are archived because they are considered "basic" or "obsolete" in the Warhammer universe.

His mind works like the finest sieve, rapidly filtering through massive amounts of information.

Ultimately, he set his sights on a crystal focusing efficiency optimization scheme that he had designed when he was still a mechanical priest apprentice in order to understand the basic principles of laser weapons.

This plan is considered a basic, entry-level application within the Warhammer universe's technological system.

It optimizes the arrangement of light-guiding crystals and energy guiding circuits in specific types of laser weapons, which can slightly increase the range and focusing accuracy without increasing the core power, and reduce energy scattering loss during transmission.

For the young Chen Yu, who had just begun to learn about energy weapon design, this was a qualified exercise, but nothing more.

As his skills improved, these basic optimizations were long since replaced by more advanced and integrated designs.

In addition, he extracted some fragmented logic optimization protocols and data processing techniques from his recent analysis of circulated AI code.

This content helped him understand the network structure of the world, but it was not a core breakthrough; it was more like notes he jotted down casually.

Chen Yu organized these two parts into two separate data packages.

He did not embellish or heavily edit the information; he simply ensured that the information was complete and clearly formatted.

In his eyes, this was indeed a veritable "leftover," but it was extremely cost-effective to use it to pass the time with military technology in exchange for physical resources on the list.

He transmitted the two data packets to Mowell, who was on standby, and issued new instructions via an encrypted link. "Give these to the representatives of military technology," Chen Yu said calmly. "Inform them that this is an initial response based on their attitude of 'constructive dialogue'."

It includes a basic optimization technology for energy weapons and some network data processing techniques.

They are required to immediately begin the delivery process for the compensation list items upon receiving the data packet and verifying its value. The delivery location and method will be specified by us later.

He paused briefly, then continued, "At the same time, we made it clear to them that technical exchanges are limited to this level and frequency. We have no intention of establishing a deeper alliance or frequent interactions. Maintaining the status quo and not interfering with each other is the most efficient way for both sides to coexist."

The command was not finished. Chen Yu's scarlet optical lens flashed and issued another completely different command.

“After that, go find the biotech security chief, Elliott Guan, and eliminate him. Place his head on the bedside table in the private bedroom of the biotech CEO, Logagia, making sure Logagia finds it the next time he falls asleep.”

The order was given so calmly, as if it were a routine matter: "The purpose of this action is to end any remaining illusions of retaliation or negotiation in biotechnology in an irrefutable manner."

Guan's death, and the way it was presented, was a direct response to Logagia's previous clamor, and also an ultimatum.

Let death itself convey the message: This matter ends here.

If there is any further hostility, the next thing to appear at his bedside will be his own head.

Chen Yu's logic is very simple.

Military technology demonstrates rationality and compromise, and can therefore be appeased through transactions.

Biotechnology, at least under Logagia's dominance, remains consumed by emotional rage and needs more intense pain to help them regain their sanity.

The remaining value of Guan, the messenger who had narrowly survived the last time, lay in using his death to deliver this final, unquestionable warning.

"Return after completing these two tasks," Chen Yu commanded finally. "Pay attention to efficiency and stealth, and avoid adding unnecessary variables."

Mowell quietly received all the instructions and data packets.

She had no doubts about her master's decision.

Whether it's trading or killing, it's all a means to achieve a goal. She replied simply, "Yes, Master."

On the outskirts of Night City, the abandoned communications tower once again became a temporary meeting point.

Mowell appeared right on time, his demeanor exactly the same as last time—calm and efficient.

The members of the "probe" team were already waiting there, and the atmosphere was even more tense than last time.

When they saw Mowell appear, their eyes revealed a mixture of anticipation and nervousness.

Dr. Mara Sorenson stepped forward again, trying to maintain a professional demeanor: "Madam, we look forward to your news."

Without any further pleasantries, Mowell directly transmitted the two data packets to the receiving device designated by Dr. Sorenson via a secure short-range data link.

“This is the master’s response to your proposal.” Mower’s voice came through the mask, still steady. “Data package one is a basic design scheme to improve the crystal focusing efficiency of laser weapons.”

Data packet two contains some network data processing techniques derived from the logic of the sprawling AI.
