Chapter 66 Sneak Attack

Chapter 66 Sneak Attack (Seventh Update)
Meanwhile, in the virtual space, high-ranking officials from both the biotechnology and military technology sides were closely monitoring every detail of the operation.

"The target has been pinned down inside the building. 'Mega Manticore' has moved into attack position and secured weapon system lock." The operator calmly reported the progress.

"Very good. Maintain the suppression posture, wear down their ammunition and patience, and force them to come out on their own." The operations manager gave the order, his tone calm and confident, as if everything was under control.

The biotechnology observer stared intently at the melting effect caused by Rebecca's plasma pistol on the tactical screen, a barely concealed greed flashing in his eyes: "The way that energy weapon works and its power... we must get our hands on it and reverse engineer it, no matter what."

However, what followed was completely beyond their tactical planning and data modeling.

Behind a broken window of the gas station below, without warning, a blindingly bright white bolt of lightning suddenly burst forth! It wasn't a direct shot, but rather more like a living bolt of lightning, with an illogical speed and precision, winding its way towards a "Mega Manticore" hovercar that had just locked onto the airframe!

There was no deafening explosion, only a sharp, hissing sound, like metal being forcibly torn apart!
The bolt of lightning, like a venomous snake with life, instantly coiled around the fuselage of the hovercar.

Visible electric current surged wildly across the armor surface, instantly overloading external sensors, communication arrays, and even the regulating blades near the engine nozzles, causing a series of tiny electric sparks to erupt.

The massive body of the hovercraft suddenly froze in mid-air, as if gripped by an invisible giant hand, and the light from all the thrusters dimmed abruptly.

Inside the cockpit, all screens went black instantly, and the alarm was replaced by a deathly silence.

It completely lost power and control, like a heavy piece of scrap iron, spinning stiffly, trailing ominous black smoke, and plummeting straight down into the distant desert.

Seconds later, a muffled thud echoed from the distant sands, followed by a violent explosion as the fuel ignited, sending a fireball soaring into the night sky.

The command center fell into a deathly silence, with only the faint low-frequency noise of the equipment running.

"What's going on?!" The operations manager jumped to his feet, causing the virtual image to flicker momentarily. "What kind of weapon is that?!"

"Attack type unidentifiable! Abnormal energy signature! Not a conventional armor-piercing or high-explosive warhead!" The technical analyst's voice was filled with shock and confusion. "Readings indicate... it seems to have triggered a strong local electromagnetic pulse effect, instantly burning out most of the 'Manticore''s' precision electronic components and control systems! This is... this is an extremely efficient electronic warfare attack!"

Before they could even process this incomprehensible attack, a second deadly beam of bright white lightning, like a savior's judgment, shot out from the same window once more!
The pilot of the other "Mary" instinctively yanked the control stick to try and evade, but the speed of the lightning far exceeded his reaction limit. The white light precisely "licked" the outside of the hovercraft's engine compartment.

The same scene played out again: electric snakes coiled around, components overloaded, and sparks flew everywhere. The hovercraft instantly became completely paralyzed, the system crashed, and like a kite with a broken string, it tumbled uncontrollably toward the ground.

"This..." The biotechnology observer was also stunned. "They have this level of heavy firepower? This is definitely not something street mercenaries could get their hands on!"

The operations manager's face turned extremely grim. Losing two advanced airships was already a major blunder. He gritted his teeth and ordered, "Use the 'Switchblades'! Send in all the drones and combat robots too! We must take them down! I want them alive!"

He realized that the waters behind Mann's team were much deeper than they had imagined. But this only fueled his determination to uncover the technology, no matter who it was.
-
Inside the gas station, Mann carefully put the Streamer rifle back into the specially made gun holster on his back, a hint of lingering fear on his face.

If it weren't for the powerful weapon Chen Yu had given them, they would probably have perished here.

"Luckily, we had the treasure the boss gave us, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to handle these two hovercars!" Falco breathed a sigh of relief as he looked at the crashed hovercars.

"Don't get distracted! We're in even bigger trouble!" Qiwei's voice boomed in the team's encrypted channel, tense like never before. "High-speed individual signal detected! More than one! It's... it's S.A.S ...

Almost simultaneously with the warning, an extremely blurry phantom, nearly blending into the distorted air around it, accompanied by a faint hum of electricity, flashed into the ruins of the gas station at a speed far beyond the visual perception of ordinary people.

Instead of rushing directly towards the most conspicuous target, the shadow strangely veered towards Pila, who was frantically trying to change the magazine of her smart submachine gun behind a half-collapsed counter!

A flash of cold light! It was the deathly light reflected from the blade of a top-grade mantis knife, polished at the molecular level, aimed straight for Pila's neck!
Before Pila could even fully react, she felt a chilling killing intent instantly envelop her entire body.

"Watch out!" Mann's roar rang out almost simultaneously with the gunshot.

In the nick of time, he caught the killing intent and the slight outline shift that the optical camouflage could not completely eliminate. Relying on the instincts he had accumulated over years of street fighting, he fired three shots in quick succession at the empty space in front of Pira's side with his large-caliber pistol almost without aiming!

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The deafening gunshots echoed in the narrow space.

The bullet, carrying immense kinetic energy, slammed into the concrete floor and the broken metal counter, sending up a shower of rubble and sparks.

One of the bullets grazed the edge of the afterimage, and although it didn't hit directly, the impact and threat it brought forced the opponent to abandon their fatal blow to Pila.

The phantom's movements faltered slightly, and the optical camouflage system, due to the high-speed evasive maneuver, exhibited more noticeable fluctuations, revealing a blurry outline.

He slid back half a step like a ghost, his scarlet electronic eyes coldly sweeping over Mann before changing target without hesitation. His mantis knife flashed with a cold light as it turned towards Rebecca, who had just finished firing and was adjusting her stance not far away!
Just as the tip of the mantis knife was about to touch Rebecca's back, Dorio moved!
She did not rely on her vision, but entirely on the enhanced perception of subtle airflow disturbances and biological killing intent brought about by Chen Yu.

Her massive, much larger-than-average body unleashed a speed and agility completely disproportionate to her size. As if anticipating her movements, she stepped forward to the side, her bronze-colored, muscular right arm sweeping out horizontally with unparalleled precision, like a heavy steel whip, accompanied by a whistling sound that tore through the air, to meet the pair of deadly mantis knives!

"clang--!"
