Warhammer: The Time Traveler
Chapter 55 Chen Yu's Plan
Chapter 55 Chen Yu's Plan
“We understand. Boss, just give us a list of payment options.” Mann nodded, indicating his understanding. Saving Sasha was the top priority; everything else could wait.
He glanced at his team members. Although there was uncertainty about the future in their eyes, there was even more determination to save their comrade.
“Very good.” Chen Yu said no more, indicating that the Mann team could leave the workshop temporarily. He needed to concentrate on the initial stabilization treatment of Sasha: “You can go back now. Keep communication open. I will notify you when I need you to transport supplies.”
Mann gave Sasha a deep look, then nodded to the team members.
The group silently turned and left the workshop. The heavy metal door slowly closed behind them, separating the inside from the outside into two worlds.
The atmosphere inside the car was oppressive; no one spoke, everyone was immersed in the complex emotions brought about by the life-or-death negotiation that had just taken place.
Watching Mann and the others leave, Chen Yu turned around, the hem of his dark red robe brushing the ground, and walked towards the central workbench.
His mechanical tentacles deftly manipulated the terminal, bringing up Sasha's detailed scan data and adjusting the subsequent treatment process.
At the same time, he also set aside a portion of the processing thread and reconnected to the external monitoring interface of the dimension transmitter.
Within the unseen internal viewpoint of Mann and his colleagues, a vast stream of data surged forth like a galaxy.
Chen Yu's logic was working at lightning speed, not only calculating the best path for Sasha's body to recover, but also deducing a brand new and more cautious plan.
His original plan was to personally return to the Warhammer universe after confirming that the Dimensional Teleporter could reliably communicate between the two worlds and had initially cracked the coordinate positioning technology.
There lay the laboratory he had failed to take with him, the accumulated technical resources, and even a small detachment of the missionary force that belonged entirely to him.
Those forces were crucial for him to establish himself and thrive in this unfamiliar world.
Technology, weapons, and even loyal mechanical creations from the world of forging can greatly enhance his strength and security.
However, the risk of returning in person always exists.
The Warhammer universe is far more dangerous than this place. An unexpected spatial disturbance, an unstable teleportation landing, or even being detected by some beings in that universe about his return could all have serious consequences.
He cannot put all his bets on a high-risk personal action.
Now, with the loyalty of the Mann team, he has a new and more efficient option.
"Perhaps... I don't need to take the risk myself." This thought flashed through Chen Yu's mind.
He recalled the legends he had heard in the Warhammer universe about certain great sages, such as the enigmatic Belisarius Caul.
They are said to be able to create “Thinker” systems that carry their own memories and thought patterns, and even create clones or agents with independent action capabilities.
Although his skills were far from reaching the level of Kaul's, the basic principles were the same.
A bold plan gradually took shape in his mind. He could try to create a sophisticated "Thinker" core, inject it with efficient logic code that had been analyzed, purified, and reconstructed from stray AI, giving it a high degree of autonomous judgment and learning ability.
Then, this core is deeply synchronized and simulated to a limited extent with some of his own key memories, technical knowledge, understanding of the Warhammer world, and preset mission instructions.
The "agent" created in this way, although lacking all of his emotions and intuition, is sufficient to simulate most of his decisions when handling pre-set tasks and dealing with known situations, especially when dealing with subordinate units of the Mechanicus, where it can mimic his behavior patterns and authority instructions.
Then, he sent this heavily modified and enhanced "Fringe Walker" squad to escort the "agent" back to the Warhammer world.
The loyalty of Mann and his companions, their combat experience, and their enhanced survivability through customized modifications make them a suitable temporary, small-scale "Guardians of the Church" or exploration team.
They don't need to confront the terrifying beings of that world head-on; they only need to protect the "agent" and ensure his safe arrival at the designated coordinates—his former laboratory or secret base—and assist the "agent" in completing tasks such as resource recovery, data download, activating preset protocols, or making contact with the remaining servants or cult members.
Their street smarts and adaptability might play an unexpected role in dealing with the chaos in certain aspects of the Warhammer universe.
Even if the mission fails, the "agent" is destroyed, or the team is lost, he only loses an exploration branch and some investment. The core body and technical foundation remain intact and can be replanned.
This aligns with the principle of risk diversification.
“A solution worth trying.” Chen Yu silently confirmed the feasibility of the idea.
This perfectly explains why he needs the absolute loyalty and complete transformation of the Mann team—they will become his tentacles for exploring multiple dimensions, an extension of his power in other worlds, and an important barrier to reduce the risks to his original self.
Investing in them is essentially an investment in our own security and future development.
Of course, this plan is still in its early stages.
Both the creation of the "agent" thinkers and the in-depth transformation of the Mann team require time and massive resources.
The initial team adjustments and Sasha's treatment can be carried out simultaneously, laying the foundation for deeper transformations later on.
The development of the "agent" requires a more stable energy source and a deeper understanding of the circulating AI code, which brings us back to his need for the transformation of the underground base and the upgrading of the energy core.
He pulled his wandering thoughts back and refocused his main processing thread on Sasha's life support system and the real-time data monitoring of the dimension transporter.
Inside the workshop, the cold hum of machinery continued, but beneath the metal visor, the seeds of a grand plan to connect two dimensions and explore another world using local resources had already been quietly sown.
Mann and his "marginalized travelers," without fully knowing their future fate, have involuntarily stepped into the center of this vortex that transcends their imagination and dimensions in order to save a family member.
Their loyalty, their power, and even their future form will be reshaped to suit the ambitions and needs of their creators who transcend this world.
Chen Yu began injecting a specially made nano-repair agent and nerve stabilizing fluid into Sasha's body.
Meanwhile, another part of his consciousness had begun drafting preliminary enhancement plans for each member of Mann's team, as well as the basic design framework for the "agent" thinkers. The work had only just begun.
