Warhammer: The Time Traveler

Chapter 46 Expansion Plan

Chapter 46 Expansion Plan
Deep in the desert workshop, time seems to be divided by precise mechanical rhythms.

The air purification system continuously emitted a low hum, filtering out the fine dust that seeped in from the outside, leaving only a mixture of engine oil, ozone, and low-temperature metal odor.

In the central working area, Sasha Yakovlevva lay quietly on a specially made medical bed, in a state of stagnation that was more like being forcibly maintained than being asleep.

Most of her body was covered by a translucent biogel and a cold, hard mechanical frame, revealing only her pale and serene face.

Thin conduits and energy cables connected her spine, chest cavity, and skull interfaces, continuously supplying life-sustaining nutrients, stabilizers, and nano-repair units into her collapsing body.

Several mechanical tentacles around the medical bed remain still, but the sensors at their tips flash continuously, monitoring the most subtle changes in vital signs.

Chen Yu stood to the side, his crimson optical lens scanning the holographic image floating above the medical bed, which displayed Sasha's physical condition data in real time.

“Biological functions are stable, and the rate of nerve impulse attenuation has been controlled within a safe threshold. The tissue regeneration process has been initialized and is currently at 13.5%.” He stated calmly, his voice coming through his visor, devoid of any emotion, as if reporting on the maintenance progress of a precision instrument: “The survival probability has increased to 89%. However, deep damage is unavoidable, and partial mechanization is the most efficient solution.”

A few days ago, when Mann's team brought Sasha back in critical condition, her body was almost a jumble of broken tissues barely held together.

Conventional cyberpunk prosthetic doctors are helpless against this, but Chen Yu's technology transcends the boundaries of life.

Using rare biocatalysts brought from Mann's team and his own reserves of active substances, he forcibly activated the remaining vitality in Sasha's body and began to reconstruct her most severely damaged organs and limbs using the bio-mechanical fusion technology unique to the Mechanic Church.

This process is slow and delicate, requiring an absolutely stable environment.

Just then, a deep and powerful metallic scraping sound came from the other side of the workshop.

Dorothy sat up from the heavily modified medical chair.

Her movements carried a nascent, slightly awkward stiffness, but the power they contained was astonishing.

His already tall frame seemed to have expanded even further. Beneath his bronze skin, muscle fibers bulged and jutted out like a forged alloy, their lines exuding an explosive beauty.

Even simple movements can produce a faint sound of airflow.

She looked down at her hands, clenched her fists, and felt the surging power within her, far greater than ever before.

That power did not come from the heavy metal implant, but from the ultimate enhancement of her own biological essence, making her more coordinated and more at ease.

The metabolic system and new catalytic agents that Chen Yu optimized for her seemed to completely unleash the potential of her body, which had undergone brutal training.

"It feels...like being reborn." Dorio's voice was a little hoarse, but filled with overwhelming shock and gratitude.

She looked at Chen Yu's tall, dark red figure with a complicated expression.

She was in awe of the other party's unfathomable skills, and even more grateful for the new life they had given her.

This power will allow her to better protect Mann and the team.

“Basic strengthening is complete, and your biological tissues have adapted to the new metabolic level. You will need to regularly supplement with specific nutrients and stabilizers to maintain optimal condition and slow tissue damage,” Chen Yu said without turning around, her attention still focused on Sasha’s data. “I will provide the specific maintenance cycle and formula later. Now, go outside and adapt to your new body. Don’t disturb my work.”

Dorio nodded heavily, took a deep breath, and tried to take the first step.

Her footsteps landed firmly, and a clear vibration came from the ground. She walked to the open space outside the workshop and began to slowly and attentively move her limbs, getting familiar with her transformed body.

Meanwhile, the rest of Mann's team was busy.

Goodwood and two other modified trucks shuttled back and forth, hauling crates and bundles of heavy building materials into the town. High-strength precast concrete slabs, heavy alloy steel beams, thick composite armor plates, and energy cables coiled like giant snakes…

These materials, which were originally intended for large-scale projects, were painstakingly collected and transported here through various channels—purchase, exchange, and even some less-than-legal "acquisitions".

The process was by no means smooth sailing.

The collection of such a large quantity of special materials inevitably touched upon the interests of certain forces and aroused suspicion.

Small-scale conflicts occurred during several handovers.

But thanks to Dorio's newly acquired terrifying power, Rebecca and Pila's optimized weaponry, and Falco's excellent driving skills, they escaped danger time and time again.

On one occasion, they encountered another group of mercenaries at the junkyard who were trying to double-cross them.

Just as the enemy was about to encircle them with their numerical advantage, a silent, floating replica servo skull—Test Subject 1—quietly entered the fray.

Instead of attacking directly, it released powerful electromagnetic interference, instantly paralyzing most of the enemy's cybernetic bodies and vehicle systems, creating an excellent opportunity for Mann's team to counterattack.

"This thing the boss gave me is fucking awesome!" Rebecca excitedly cooled down the plasma pistol while kicking an enemy on the ground that was sparking with electricity.

Test subject 1 calmly hovered in the air, its eye sockets flashing blue light as it recorded combat data and transmitted it back to the distant workshop.

Although Chen Yu was focused on research, he did not ignore the predicament of Mann's team.

He ensured that this vital "supply supply chain" was not interrupted through remote reconnaissance and support from Experiment 1 and occasionally dispatched fighter servants.

This is an investment for his grander plans.

As batches of building materials arrived, Chen Yu began to guide the initial renovation of the underground base—the seventh outpost of "Little Beidou".

He first used the wreckage of combat robots to create a batch of engineering robots, and then used existing materials to reinforce and widen the ventilation shaft entrance on the southeast side, making it passable for small transport vehicles.

Then, a relatively intact warehouse area on the top floor of the base was cleared out as a temporary storage point for supplies and an advance base.

The replica skulls are busy moving through the underground space, conducting more detailed surveys and structural safety assessments.

Based on the data transmitted back, Chen Yu continuously updated the three-dimensional model of the base on the main terminal of the workshop, and marked the load-bearing structures that needed to be reinforced first, the planned energy pipeline laying path, and the location of future laboratories, residential areas, and defense nodes.

His goal was clear: to transform this abandoned corporate secret base into a secure, concealed, and fully functional outpost that met the standards of a mechanical priest.

The surface workshops will serve as cover and primary processing plants, while the real core will move underground.
