Chapter 53 Ambush

Chapter 53 Ambush
Ten minutes later.

Long Ming and Johnny, along with four others, arrived downstairs.

They cautiously peeked out and observed for a moment. Seeing that there were no zombies, they crept out of Ward 5 and headed towards the back door of the hospital.

When they reached the door, they encountered a zombie monster that had gotten separated from the horde and didn't seem very intelligent.

"Corpse monster!"

Wu Qing took a few steps back in fear.

Johnny and his men quickly pulled out crowbars and other weapons, all extremely nervous, but none of them dared to attack.

"what!"

The corpse monster grinned and staggered towards Long Ming and the others.

Give me the crowbar!

Long Ming calmly extended his hand to Johnny.

"Ah good!"

Johnny instinctively handed the crowbar to Long Ming.

Long Ming swung the crowbar, aiming it precisely at the head of the lunging zombie, just like hitting a baseball.

bang~
The corpse monster's head was instantly pierced with a hole, and it swayed and fell to the ground.

Johnny and the others stared in disbelief at what they saw.

"Bro, are you that strong?"

"Isn't this basic operation?"

Long Ming looked at Johnny with a puzzled expression.

"Brother, you're getting a bit too Versailles-like."

"What kind of basic operation is this? We're lucky we didn't turn tail and run when we saw these monsters!"

"Yeah, if we had that kind of mentality, we would have been in the combat team long ago."

Johnny and the others replied with wry smiles.

"Well, let's go."

Upon hearing what Johnny and the others said, Long Ming immediately realized what was going on.

Many people join the mouse team not only because they don't have the money to buy equipment, but also because they lack mental fortitude, since this game is just too realistic.

"it is good."

Johnny and the others nodded quickly.

On the other side, Mira and the others were relentlessly pursued by the horde of zombies, constantly shooting down the zombie monsters that charged at them.

"Captain Mira, this won't do. We've strayed from our retreat route."

Liang Feng said anxiously to Mira.

"I understand. We need to find a way to shake off these zombies first, otherwise it'll be too late even if we get to the evacuation point!"

Mira was also extremely annoyed; these corpse monsters were like leeches, sticking to her relentlessly.

"Understood!"

Liang Feng nodded.

The scene takes place in the lobby of a dilapidated hotel.

A muscular man, wearing a bulletproof vest and gray combat uniform, sporting a large beard and a blood-red cross tattooed on his neck, sat on a soft leather sofa, taking a big gulp of a bottle of strong liquor.

"Oh shit!"

"Lord Ferenca, is this wine not to your liking? Shall we get another one?"

At this moment, a shifty-eyed man wearing a black combat uniform and with yellow-stained teeth respectfully asked.

"No need, I'm in a bad mood because I didn't eat enough!"

Ferenca looked extremely agitated, like a hungry wild beast.

Although they did a good job searching, after deducting the costs, they didn't have much left.

“I understand, but Lady Felenka, the fog is getting thicker and the number of monsters is increasing. If we are delayed for too long, our situation will be very dangerous.”

Bayer patiently explained to Ferenca.

"I know."

Ferenka knew that Bayer was right, but she was still very unhappy.

But just then, a burst of gunfire suddenly rang out.

Upon hearing this, Ferenca suddenly stood up.

Bayer and the others were startled and looked at Felenka in astonishment.

"Sir, what's wrong with you?"

"Did you hear any gunshots?"

"I heard it, and it seems to be getting louder and louder."

"Let's go and have a look!"

Ferenca's eyes flashed with a shrewd light as she led the group away from the dilapidated hotel, quickly making their way towards the direction from which the gunfire had come. A moment later...

Ferenca and the others lay on the roof of a five-story residential building, gazing into the distance.

They then saw Mira and the others being chased by a horde of zombies.

"Wow, what a large group! It looks like there are over two hundred people."

"I'm surprised," Bayer said to Ferenca.

Felenka didn't reply to Bayer, but stared at Xiaoqi and the other members of the rat gang with a greedy look on her face.

When Bayer saw Felenka's expression, his heart skipped a beat. Even with his eyes closed, he knew what Felenka was thinking. She was clearly eyeing this group, so he asked cautiously.

"My lord, you don't mean to eat them, do you?"

"That's right, you should eat when you're hungry."

"Sir, they have at least seventy or eighty combatants. We only have forty-odd combatants; we're struggling to keep up!"

Bayer offered a somewhat worried reminder.

"Not always."

Ferenca revealed a sinister smile.

"Sir, do you have a solution?"

"Military tactics are based on deception. It's not that you can't defeat the enemy just because you have fewer people. Aren't they being chased by the horde of zombies? That's our best asset. As long as we trip them up and disrupt their formation, the horde of zombies will become our best allies."

"My lord, you are wise!"

Bayer praised him respectfully.

"Alright, notify everyone to prepare for an interception!"

Ferenka raised his rifle and excitedly gave the order.

Soon after, Mira and the others covered the rat team's retreat to a densely populated residential area.

At this point, some of the rats carrying heavy loads couldn't run anymore and sat down on the ground.

"I can not make it."

"I can't do it anymore either."

Upon seeing this, Xiaoqi immediately reported it to Mira.

"Sister Mila, the people down there can't run anymore."

Mira turned his head and glanced back. They had put some distance between themselves and the horde of corpses, and then he gave the order.

"All members of the Rat Gang, rest for one minute. Combat personnel, keep an eye on the zombie horde!"

"Yes!"

Cao Jie and the others responded in unison.

Upon hearing this, many members of the rat gang sat down on the ground or leaned against the walls of the buildings beside them, panting.

"I'm exhausted."

"Damn it, I never expected to run into a horde of zombies at such a crucial moment. I almost ran myself to death."

"Stop talking, go and get some rest."

Just as everyone was complaining.

Black gun barrels protruded from the windows of the residential building to their left.

Just then, a girl caught a glimpse of it and immediately screamed in terror.

"There are enemies!"

Everyone was taken aback, and then the next second...

bang bang~
A hail of bullets suddenly rained down on Mira and the others.

Ah ~
In an instant, four combatants and seven members of the Rat Gang were hit, screaming as they fell to the ground.

"No, enemy attack!"

Cao Jie and the others cried out in terror.

"Quick, find cover!"

Mira's expression changed drastically, and she immediately gave orders to everyone.

The crowd rushed to the dilapidated residential building next door, using it as temporary cover, and then launched a swift counterattack.

The two sides kept firing at each other.

At this moment, the horde of corpses behind Mira caught up.

Upon seeing this, Liang Feng and the others immediately turned their guns around and desperately shot at the pursuing zombie monsters, but there were too many of them to kill!

Most importantly, their bullets are limited and extremely expensive; continuing to fight like this would definitely bankrupt them.

"Sister Mira, the horde of zombies is catching up, we're caught in a pincer movement."

"If this continues, we'll be dragged down!"

Cao Jie and the others asked Mira anxiously.
