Chapter 58 Rat
Yang Chen carefully examined Bai Yuetian's life support pod.

Upon closer inspection, he discovered that the originally smooth and intact spherical base had been largely disassembled, revealing the precision components inside.

Several joints even show obvious scorch marks and pry marks, clearly the work of someone who taught themselves to do it.

The two delicate mechanical legs that were originally attached to the bottom of the life support capsule to provide mobility now lay alone in the corner of the workbench, their interfaces exposed.

"Wow," Yang Chen couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and point at the disassembled base with his finger.

"Bai Yuetian, you obviously tried to upgrade this yourself before, didn't you?"

"If it weren't inconvenient for me to change it myself, why would I come to find ASH?" Bai Yuetian's screen flashed.
"We were almost finished, and then you two showed up."

"...Hey, Orange, don't just stare, hurry up and put my legs back on! This feeling of lying flat like a useless ball is so suffocating."

"We'll be able to change into a new body soon, so it doesn't really matter whether we put on an act or not, right?"

Yang Chen picked up the two intricately designed mechanical legs, weighed them in his hands, and felt the cold metallic touch.

A playful smile curled at the corner of his lips as he looked at Bai Yuetian: "You... you're not planning to just attach your legs and run away, are you?"

"Run?! Where can I run to?!" Bai Yuetian's voice immediately rose.

"Am I, Bai Yuetian, the kind of person who breaks his word and deserts his post? Besides, this godforsaken place only has one exit, and you've blocked it!"

He paused, then said, "I... I just can't stand it! I can't stand how that girl Yue Kui bosses me around and calls me 'worthless trash'! She has no manners at all!"

"Don't you understand the concept of respecting elders and caring for the young?! You put your leg back on, I'm going to personally teach this brat who doesn't know how to respect her older brother a lesson! I'll show her what it means to be the elder brother's... uh, the elder brother's authority is!"

Yang Chen almost burst out laughing.

He glanced at Bai Yuekui, who was quietly watching the original body life support pod not far away, seemingly oblivious to the farce unfolding around him, and then looked at the angry expression on the screen.

"Okay, okay, I understand." Yang Chen suppressed a laugh and didn't expose her anymore.

He steadily placed Bai Yuetian's life support sphere down, picked up the new sensor with his other hand, and then put it down again.

"Just put the legs on, right?"

"Don't move around."

Yang Chen put the other parts back on the table, and then installed the two mechanical legs.

"nailed it."

A smile appeared on the screen.

When the second leg also made a soft "click" sound, it was perfectly back in place.

He immediately felt a familiar sense of balance coming from below the life support pod.

"It's done!" Bai Yuetian cheered as the life support sphere broke free from Yang Chen's hand and jumped off the workbench.

"You brat! You dare call me trash! You dare disrespect your brother!" Bai Yuetian's two mechanical legs moved quickly as she ran towards Bai Yuekui.

"Watch how I teach you a lesson!"

Bai Yuekui seemed to have just been startled by the commotion, and slowly turned around in front of the life support pod of his original body.

She looked at the ball charging towards her with its claws outstretched, raised an eyebrow indifferently, and swept her cold gaze over the two mechanical legs that Yang Chen had just attached to her.

"Teach me a lesson?" Her voice even carried a hint of boredom.

"Based on your... freshly pieced-together appearance?"

"You!" Bai Yuetian was so taken aback by her gaze and tone that the expression on the screen froze for a moment.

His anger flared even more: "Ugh! I'm so angry! Take this!"

The mechanical legs beneath the life support pod suddenly pushed off, and the two small nozzles on its back also activated, accelerating as it crashed into Bai Yuekui.

Bai Yuekui didn't even lift his eyelids before reaching out his left hand and grabbing Bai Yuetian completely.

"let me go!"

Bai Yuetian flailed his mechanical arms wildly, struggling desperately.

"Ha~"

Bai Yuekui chuckled and picked up Bai Yuetian, placing him back on the workbench.

"Alright, stop fooling around and just wait quietly for your new body."

Bai Yuetian sat on the table with his arms crossed, seemingly still sulking, without turning his head.

The room fell silent for a moment. ASH's voice broke the brief silence.

"Yue Kui, the original physiological model of Yue Tian has been loaded. The bioactive silicon-based printing program has been started. The first stage of basic structure forming is expected to take 3 hours."

"Estimated completion time: 11 hours."

Bai Yuekui nodded slightly: "Thank you for your hard work, ASH."

"It was quite wise of you to bring ASH back back then," Bai Yuetian's voice rang out.

It was just a playful fight between siblings, so how could Bai Yuetian possibly be really angry?

"This saves a lot of trouble."

Bai Yuekui nodded slightly: "Mm."

All that remained of ASH, who was brought back from the lighthouse, was a shell of a body. Her consciousness had long been devoured by the brain of the original body, or rather, her consciousness still existed in the Kroto system on the lighthouse.

Where did Bai Yuekui go?

Yang Chen, who had been away for several days, finally returned to the village. Several large pieces of equipment were floating in the sky above him, the purpose of which was unknown.

"Yue Kui went out not long ago and took Lin Yuanzhe with her." Bai Yuetian looked at Yang Chen, who had just returned, and then looked up at the large pieces of equipment floating in the air.

"Did you bring back all the equipment that was used for construction projects before?"

Yang Chen nodded and then asked, "Where did she go? Didn't she tell you?"

Since they brought Lin Yuanzhe with them when they went out, it must be something extraordinary that they had to deal with.

"She went to Tartarus. She probably didn't tell you because she didn't want you to know."

"Hmm," Yang Chen nodded after a moment of silence, "Alright, what should we do with these things?"

"Let me think about it." Bai Yuetian pondered for a moment, then pointed outside the village and said, "Let's pile them up outside the village for now, and see if we can use these devices to build another settlement after a while."

"walk slowly."

Yang Chen flew back into the air and headed outwards.

Just as they were preparing to place the equipment outside the village, a red light sped towards them from afar.

The one who came was Bai Yuekui. She was dressed as Lin Yuanzhe, holding a man's body in her left arm and a mechanical creation in her right arm.

It looks like it was made based on the body of a human woman.

"What is this?" Yang Chen was somewhat stunned.

The armor was covered in blood, as if it had been the site of a massacre.

The abyss-rider retracted his mask, revealing Bai Yuekui's imposing and aloof face.

"I'm going to take back what's rightfully mine."

She focused her gaze on the mechanical body she was holding in her right hand, then looked up at Yang Chen.

"Can your horse charm fix ASH?"

"ASH? Is that her name?"

Yang Chen looked at the mechanical body with female features: "She doesn't seem to be broken, does she?"

"The body is still functional, but there is no consciousness left."

"Okay, I'll give it a try," Yang Chen agreed.

Since it's a matter of consciousness, then the horse talisman might not be effective.
Yang Chen then stepped forward, and Bai Yuekui placed ASH on the ground at the opportune moment.

A burst of blue light appeared, and a talisman emerged in Yang Chen's palm.

It has a lifelike picture of a mouse engraved on it.

[The cunning mouse makes you turn stillness into movement]
Ash, who was lying on the ground, had a slight glimmer in his eyes, and then he propped himself up to stand up.

Her eyes immediately fell on Bai Yuekui.

"Long time no see, Yue Kui."

This chapter was a bit rushed, and the timeline is currently a bit disorganized. There are various interpretations circulating, so I might revise it later once I've sorted things out.
