Chapter 18 Moonlit Movie Watching Notes

The three walked slowly along the stone-paved path in the village. The lights along the path gradually came on, adding a touch of warmth to Longgu Village at night. When the villagers saw them, they greeted them one by one, and Yang Chen and Bai Yuekui responded to each of them.

Inside the Steel Restaurant, the place was bustling with noise. The owner, seeing the three enter, immediately greeted them: "Mr. Bai, Mr. Yang, Tasia, what would you like to eat today?"

"The usual, one more bowl of mushroom soup." Bai Yuekui waved his hand casually and found a seat by the window.

Yang Chen looked at Tasia: "And you? What would you like to eat?"

Tasia thought for a moment and said, "I want to eat... braised pork."

"Okay, another order of braised pork." Yang Chen nodded to the shop owner.

The owner smiled and wrote down the menu before turning and going to the kitchen.

Soon, the food was served, its aroma filling the air. Tasia was starving and began to eat heartily, picking up her bowl. Bai Yuekui, on the other hand, slowly picked up a piece of cured meat and placed it in Yang Chen's bowl: "Try it, the cured meat tastes good today."

Yang Chen smiled and took it. He had just taken a bite when he heard a commotion outside.

"Nanjixing! Don't run away! What happened to the good stuff you promised!" Bai Yuetian's voice came from afar and then the restaurant door was suddenly pushed open. Nanjixing rushed in in a panic, with Bai Yuetian chasing after him.

"Old Xia! Help!" Nanji Xing spotted Xia Tianlai sitting in the corner eating and immediately hid behind him.

Summer came and pushed Antarctic Star away with a look of disgust: "Go away, don't disturb my meal."

Bai Yuetian floated in front of Nanjixing, and the emoticon on the screen changed to an angry look: "(╯°□°) Where's the stuff?!"

Nanji Xing chuckled dryly and pulled a crumpled paper bag from his pocket: "It's here, what's the rush..."

Bai Yuetian snatched the paper bag, and the expression on the screen instantly changed to anticipation: "(ω) Let me see what good stuff is inside!"

He opened the paper bag, and inside was a CD with a cover featuring several girls in JK uniforms, titled "Youth Story".

Bai Yuekui rubbed his forehead, then turned to Yang Chen and said, "I knew it."

Yang Chen's lips twitched, and he silently lowered his head to eat, pretending not to see it.

Bai Yuetian was so excited that his screen kept flashing: "What a treasure! The South Star, at least you still have some conscience!"

Antarctic Star stroked his beard smugly: "Of course, when have I ever gone back on my word?"

"At your age, still watching these things, aren't you ashamed?" Xia Tian glanced at the disc, and just as he was about to look away, he felt that the cover looked so familiar.

Xia Tianlai snatched the disc from Bai Yuetian's hand and, upon seeing the cover, suddenly questioned her loudly.

"Isn't this mine?! How did it end up in your hands?" Xia Tianlai glared at Nanjixing: "Tell me, when did you steal it?!"

"How can this be called stealing?" Nanjixing looked aggrieved.

"I found it in front of your house. I guess your wife threw it out." Nanjixing moved closer to Xia Tianlai and put his arm around his shoulder. "You, with such a good thing, why didn't you find a better place to hide it?"

"Whether you picked it up or stole it, it's mine now." Bai Yuetian snatched the disc back from Xia Tianlai's hand.

Summer arrived, his face ashen, and it seemed he had been gone for a while. Now that his wife had discovered him, there was no way he could see her again.

Just then, the restaurant door was pushed open again, and Shan Da and Xia Hua walked in.

Bai Yuetian also rushed out the door when the two entered.

"Hey? Isn't that Boss Bai's brother?" Xia Hua had just entered the restaurant when she saw Bai Yuetian's spherical body "whoosh" past her, almost bumping into her shoulder.

Shandong scratched his head: "Running so fast, did I upset Boss Bai again?"

The two entered the restaurant and found the atmosphere somewhat awkward. Xia Tianlai slumped in his chair, looking utterly dejected, while Nanjixing patted him on the shoulder to comfort him. Bai Yuekui and Yang Chen, on the other hand, ate their meals with helpless expressions. "What's... what's wrong?" Xia Hua asked cautiously.

Nanjixing turned around, saw Xia Hua and Shan Da, and her eyes immediately lit up: "Oh, Xiao Hua's here! Quickly, talk to your dad, he's really upset right now."

Xia Hua sat down next to Xia Tianlai: "Dad, what happened?"

Xia Tian looked up, hesitated, and finally just sighed deeply: "Sigh, it's nothing."

Shandong leaned closer to Yang Chen and asked in a low voice, "Boss Yang, what happened to Lao Xia?"

Just as Yang Chen was about to speak, Bai Yuekui glared at him, and he immediately shut his mouth and continued to eat.

Xia Hua and Shan Da exchanged a glance, feeling bewildered.

Bai Yuekui stood up. "We should go too." She looked at Tasia. "Get some rest, we'll continue in a couple of days."

Tasia nodded: "Yes, boss."

After Yang Chen paid the bill, the two walked out of the restaurant.

As night deepened, only a few streetlights remained lit on the stone-paved road of Longgu Village. Yang Chen and Bai Yuekui walked side by side on their way home, their shadows stretched long in the lamplight.

"How about we transplant your brother back into his body?" Yang Chen suddenly suggested. "Maybe that would be better?"

Bai Yuekui snorted lightly: "He doesn't want to go back, saying he's disgusted by being treated by Gray, and besides, he still feels his body is quite convenient."

As they walked, they came to the arcade again.

Seeing that there were still people in the arcade at this hour, the two went over to take a look out of curiosity.

Several villagers from Longgu Village were gathered around the screen, with a spherical object sitting in front of them.

Bai Yuekui finally lost his temper, stood up, walked to the screen, and unplugged the power. Bai Yuetian's screen went black instantly, and his expression turned to (╥﹏╥).

"Go look elsewhere if you want to see it, don't embarrass yourself here," Bai Yuekui said coldly.

Bai Yuetian floated over to Yang Chen's side, looking aggrieved: "Chengzi, you need to do something about her!"

Yang Chen coughed lightly: "I didn't hear anything."

LOL, Bai Yuetian's screen immediately collapsed, he took out the disc, leaving the two of them with only a lonely back view.

Bai Yuekui didn't chase after him; since they were in Dragon Bone Village, Bai Yuetian wouldn't be in any danger.

The two strolled slowly towards home.

"Speaking of which, Xu Tong's potential seems to be able to detoxify?" Back in his room, Bai Yuekui took off his coat and hung it on a hanger.

Yang Chen nodded: "Yes, Lao Xia used the bacteria in his intestines to make the antidote pills, but the effectiveness has not yet been verified."

"I need to find some time to go out." Yang Chen collapsed onto the bed, savoring the faint fragrance emanating from the blankets.

Lying on her back in bed, watching Bai Yuekui changing into her bathrobe so close to her, her gaze unconsciously followed her figure. Moonlight streamed in through the gaps in the curtains, casting a soft silver glow on her silvery hair.

"Have you seen enough?" Bai Yuekui asked without turning his head, his hands continuing their work without stopping.

Yang Chen coughed lightly and stood up: "I'm going to wash up."
