Chapter 72 Secret Photography

Chapter 72 Secret Photography
Although he wasn't particularly interested in internal medicine at first, Lin Ze still followed Director Niijima's teaching diligently, believing that even if he wasn't interested, he should cultivate that interest.

As a new intern, the fastest way to improve is naturally to be diligent and ask questions. Ask questions on the spot if you don't understand something, remember the answers from the supervisor, and take notes later if possible.

The first day was just routine ward rounds and consultations, without teaching much. By the second and third days, what Lin Ze and his team received and learned became more complex and diverse.

In the consultation room, Dr. Shinjima would often lift up a patient's clothes and begin a live demonstration, drawing Lin Ze and the others around.

"When examining a patient, first look at the characteristics of the symptoms. As you gain more experience and see more patients, you will be able to summarize your own observations. For example, it is easy to tell that this patient has cirrhosis from his external appearance. He is not only obviously thin with sunken cheeks, but also has a sallow complexion, yellowing of the skin and sclera, and edema in the lower limbs."

“Look at the abdominal wall,” Dr. Niijima pointed, drawing Lin Ze’s attention: “The obvious bulging veins are varicose veins in the abdominal wall. Also, look at the redness of the thenar eminence of the palms, and the appearance of red spider-like rashes on the chest and neck.”

"These typical symptoms prove that cirrhosis has affected multiple systems, a stage known as decompensation; the previous stage is the compensated stage, with milder symptoms, such as fatigue, loss of appetite, and right upper quadrant pain..."

The feeling of learning is wonderful.

Within two days, Lin Ze realized the position and importance of internal medicine in modern medicine.

It is vast and complex, and is the cornerstone of modern medicine. If one wants to study it, there are extremely deep directions to explore, and even broad study can cultivate excellent diagnostic and treatment thinking.

When you're immersed in something, time naturally flies by.

Besides medical advancements, Lin Ze's treatment methods for improving Kitagawa Ayane's condition also played a significant role.

She's been much more obedient these past few days.

They no longer exhibit the same tendency to forget past mistakes.

She kept in mind all the rules that Lin Ze instructed her to follow during the treatment phase, for fear of upsetting Lin Ze again.

Not only was she exceptionally well-behaved, but she also handed in her diary entries for the past two days, which were detailed and well-organized.

Compared to the previous submissions, this one is clearly much more sincere.

Furthermore, Ayane Kitagawa has learned to read people's expressions. If Lin Ze shows any displeasure, she will immediately stop any offensive behavior to avoid incurring his dislike for being too ingratiating.

If the mission can proceed smoothly, Lin Ze won't be burdened by her and can focus more on his studies. Since the mission can only be triggered once a day, it can only proceed slowly.

As the days went by, Lin Ze shuttled between school and home, having lunch with Kitagawa Ayane once a day in the equipment room, and devoting the rest of his time to his internship.

One afternoon.

Having finally had some time to relax, the interns finished their equipment use course early and walked along the tree-lined avenue, each holding a bottle of beverage. Even though it was already autumn, Yamazaki Yu still couldn't give up his habit of drinking iced cola. He wanted the original flavor, but the vending machine only had lemon flavor, so he had to hold his nose and buy it.

With a "pop," the can was opened.

He tilted his head back, took a swig, let out a satisfied groan, and burped.

"I can't help but want to fight that squinty-eyed guy. He makes me do all the dirty and tiring work, and he won't even lift a finger to wash the mop. He insists on waiting for me to finish cleaning before giving me the job. It's clearly his job to clean the department." Otomo Shoji said, clenching his fist.

“Talking back to a senior is a serious offense. What if they make things difficult for you everywhere? The director can't keep an eye on you in the department all the time,” Yamazaki Yu said calmly.

"Who cares, my fists are itching—Muda muda muda muda muda!"

"With Shoji's fists, he could easily be smashed into a meat patty," Sano Chizuru joked.

"Of course, I have to show you my muscles."

As he spoke, Otomo Shoji tried to take off his clothes, which naturally drew shoving and playful shoving from Chizuru, who laughed and called him crazy.

"By the way, Lin Ze, your department seems like a good place to work. You don't seem to have been treated unfairly," Yamazaki Yu asked Lin Ze, who was drinking mineral water.

“There was one,” he said calmly, “but he got sick and took the day off the next day, so he was quite lucky.”

"Oh, that's lucky."

"Well..." Sano Chizuru's eyes darted around, and she brushed it off: "Everyone in our department is pretty nice, so I think we should be able to get through these next few weeks safely."

As someone involved that day, Chizuru Sano certainly knew what had happened.

She was truly grateful to have two formidable figures by her side, each more terrifying than the last, otherwise she too would have been bullied.

Group 1 is truly full of hidden talents, with only her being the only husky among them.

Thinking this, Sano Chizuru couldn't help but glance at Miyagi Suzuo, who was quietly following Lin Ze.

Clearly, when Suzuo Miyagi heard "sick leave," she lowered her head slightly, making it impossible to see the expression on her face.

It seems there must be some connection between this and Miyagi-kun.

This is truly a realistic world. Sano Chizuru thought to herself.

A group of people walked along the tree-lined avenue.

Suddenly, a few girls followed them, sneaking around and doing something furtively.

Soon, they gathered around Lin Ze.

"Lin Zesang." A soft voice called out.

Hearing the sound, Lin Ze turned his head.

click!
Click, click, click!

The camera clicked, capturing Lin Ze's calm expression and somewhat puzzled look.

Then, carrying their schoolbags, the group of girls quickly fled the scene of the crime amidst bursts of laughter.

Beside her, Miyagi Suzuo frowned slightly.

“They’re taking pictures again.” Yamazaki Yu shrugged.

"After all, he's the most handsome guy in the medical school." Chizuru wasn't surprised.

"Why didn't you take a picture of me?" Otomo Shoji said indignantly.

“I took a picture,” Yamazaki Yu waved his phone and said seriously, “You were in the picture when we ate in the cafeteria last time.”

"Really?" Shoji Otomo was taken aback.

"There are even comments below... saying: Who is this ugly guy? Stop blocking the camera."

"Nima!"

Then, everyone burst into cheerful laughter, and even Miyagi Suzuo couldn't help but curl the corners of her lips.

Only Lin Ze looked confused.

"Is this some new trend on campus, taking candid photos?"

“These people are taking pictures of you without your consent,” Yamazaki Yu explained.

Why are you taking pictures of me?

"Of course, post it on the forum. The University of Tokyo's campus forum has a lot of followers. Your photo has several separate posts on the forum, making it convenient for female students to view it... Not only students from our university, but also students from other universities come to post it."

"What is the meaning?"

"Just looking at handsome guys."

After hearing this, Lin Ze was speechless.

"Superficial," was the fair assessment given by Miyagi Suzuo.

"You wouldn't know if you don't frequent forums, it's amazing, it covers everything, not just exclusive photos of Lin Ze, but also photos of popular girls, like the senior from the Economics Department next door—"

"What senior? Let me see her?"

Before Yamazaki Yu could finish speaking, Otomo Shoji eagerly leaned over.

But in Lin Ze's eyes, these actions were meaningless.

Now that you've entered the University of Tokyo, the last thing you should waste is time. If you spend so much free time browsing forums, looking at handsome guys, and reading gossip, where will you save the time you would have spent studying?

“I was saying, didn’t we talk about that girl who jumped off the building a few days ago? Her name was something like Nishimiya,” Yamazaki Yu whispered. “People have been talking about her too. Apparently, she hasn’t been here since her freshman year, and this is the first time she’s shown up in almost two months.”

"Did they cause such a big commotion on their first public appearance?"

"That post has been deleted and can no longer be seen."

"The power of conglomerates... wow, that's terrifying."

Lin Ze listened to these things silently.

He knew why Nishimiya Shinki didn't come to school. Without treatment, this kind of disease would greatly affect her normal life, let alone going to school.
